I won't lose ever again ! Is that okay with you ? King of the pirates ?

"State your name, swordsman." Mihawk said to Zoro after listening to his answer.

"Rorona Zoro !" Zoro's voice was filled with determination.

Nami was left in awa after witnessing Zoro. Seeing it on a laptop screen and seeing it in real life were completely different feelings. Zoro's voice didn't have an ounce of hesitation when he declared his name. The pressure that Nami felt sent chills down her spine. She couldn't read Zoro's mind but at that moment, she was sure that Zoro was ready to die for the sake of his dream.

Mihawk put away the small sword into his locket and took out his black blade the Yoru, one of the 12 supreme grade swords. The look in Mihawk's eyes also changed. Previously they were simply assessing Zoro full stop but now he was treating Zoro as a proper opponent.

"Very well Roronoa, you have impressed me enough now come at me !"

No words needed after that as Zoro swiftly launched 3 spiraling flying slashes which acted like a drill trying to screw Mihawk. But with Your in hand Mihawk deflected the attack towards the sea without any effort. Zoro was following closely behind his own flying slashes with an incredible speed. So as soon as Mihawk deflected away the first attack he found Zoro right in front of him. But it didn't phase him in the slightest.

"Santoryu ! Rengoku ! Oni-Giri !"

For the first time, Nami saw Zoro using a named attack.

But the effects were completely canceled out by Mihawk's black blade. For an outsider like Nami, Mihawk wasn't even putting an effort to block the attack.

But in reality, Mihawk was really surprised by the strength and technique behind the attack.

The so-called Oni-Giri, was a technique that was used for both attack and defense. A master swordsman like Mihawk immediately recognised how the technique worked even if it was the first time he saw it. Zoro was attacking him from three different directions. So even if he managed to block two of them the third will land on its mark. Not to mention if his opponent decides to continue a health attack instead of blocking or defending, then he could always use two of his swords to block the attack while attacking with the third strike.

With enough strength and technique, it was indeed a formidable sword play. But Mihawk also noticed a very major weakness in the technique. All the three swords were intersecting each other before the point of unleashing their fury. And that's why Mihawk blocked the attack even before Zoro could launch it.

With this strike, Mihawk felt an emotion that he rarely feels. For the first time in many years after the red haired Shanks lost his arm, Mihawk was excited.

Zoro, seeing his technique blocked, easily decided to press on with a different technique and not brute strength.

This decision of his, impressed Mihawk again as he was expecting Zoro to press forward with brute strength.

"Nitoryu ! Tower climb !"

It was the best attack Zoro could have delivered from the position he was in. Two deadly upward slashes tried to cut down Mihawk. But again this time with a horizontal slash of his own, Mihawk cut down Zoro's attack. If Zoro had learnt haki, the attack would have reached a whole different level that even Mihawk wouldn't have taken lightly.

But in the end the reality was very cruel.

Zoro put all his might into his attacks and Mihawk merely defended against them.

The fight went on for half an hour until Zoro became completely exhausted. He was going beyond his limits to deliver extremely powerful slashes. If not for Mihawk, Zeff's restaurant would have been turned into scrap. Finally after using almost all of his strength, Zoro couldn't even put a scratch on Mihawk. Forget about scratch, there wasn't even a drop of sweat visible on his body. In fact his breathing wasn't even a little heavy.

It was clear that even after using all his strength, Zoro had lost.

"Santoryu Ogi ! Ichidai Sanzen ! Daisen Sekai !"

Putting on his remaining strength into his last strike, Zoro launched himself at Mihawk. But this time Mihawk was not in the mood of merely defending against the attack. Like Zoro, he also sprinted towards his opponent.

"Boom"

Zoro and Mihawk appeared in the opposite sides of each other where the other was standing before. Two of Zoro's blades crumbled immediately. They were finely cut into multiple pieces. The white sword in Zoro's mouth remained intact. Zoro was not unharmed either. He coughed up blood as a light horizontal slash appeared on his stomach.

Mihawk on the other hand was completely unharmed. But unlike before, this time he had a drop of sweat visible on his forehead.

As Mihawk turned to deliver the final blow in order to make Zoro unconscious, Zoro turned around as well.

"What are you doing ?" Mihawk was confused.

Zoro's grin widened. At that moment he was ready for his death. But at the same time he was not afraid of it at all. On the other hand, he seemed very happy. Zoro spread his arms wide.

"A scar on the back of a swordsman is a shame."

For a fraction of a second Mihawk's eyes widened as in the next second a small smile appeared on his face.

"Well said."

*Slash* *splurt*

…

I could barely believe my eyes. Despite the deep wound, Zoro was alive. And not just alive but he was doing very well. From the point of the slash to the end none of the vital organs were severely damaged to the point of being a fatal wound for him. Mihawk had cut down Zoro with so much precision that it was just enough to knock him out. But the stupid swordsman refused to rest. I didn't pay any attention to the drama between Mihawk and Luffy. Neither did I pay attention to what Mihawk said to Zoro and Zoro's iconic line, "I won't lose ever again ! Is that okay with you ? King of the pirates ?". Because I was busy treating his wounds as fast as possible.

Apparently Mihawk was there because he was bored and wanted to test some good quality wine. But after his fight with Zoro, he left Baratie satisfied. Buggy left with the group of rag tags that she was calling crew as well. In the end Zeff forced Luffy to work as waiter in exchange of letting them stay there till Zoro recovered.
