Captain-Commander Hiruzen Sarutobi (Naruto Fanfic)

Four Days Later –

It has been a few days since Hiruzen had battled Ryujin Jakka. Team 7 who he had sent on the 'Initiation' mission came back 3 days ago, and like Hiruzen expected, they were shaken from having their first kills, especially Naruto and Sakura, Sasuke didn't seem too bad although it would take him a bit to get used to it, but Hiruzen himself knows that it is only a matter of time before they get used to it.

Hiruzen sent the Genin out so that he could have an update from Kakashi on how they are doing, and he was mildly surprised at the results:

FLASHBACK – Conversation:

Hiruzen was now facing Kakashi who had put away his book, putting his full attention on the Hokage who decided to speak:

"Kakashi… I assume you know why I asked you to stay behind. Tell me the status of the three and their mental states… also while you're at it, give me an evaluation on how the team really is and not like how they try to portray themselves to the outside world, strengths, and where they are currently…" said Hiruzen and Kakashi took a slight breath before beginning, then looking up he spoke:

"All three have successfully been 'initiated' into the Shinobi World properly. Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura have all successfully completed their first kills as well, although Naruto and Sakura I will have to keep an eye on to see if they are having any issues that need to be resolved before they become a hinderance.

Anyway, for Sasuke, he didn't hesitate much in killing the bandits, although he needed a momentary reprieve to stop any shaking or negative emotions from affecting his performance… I had a look at him to make sure everything was alright, and he seemed fine as I had a momentary talk with him while Sakura and Naruto were lost in their own world, and he seemed okay as he told me that he was ready for this day since he has experienced much worse than just killing someone.

Naruto on the other hand had taken it bad… although it was good he didn't enjoy taking someone's life, he had the worst reaction out of the three when it came to taking his first kill, from what I saw, it seemed that Naruto had momentary channelled the power of the Kyuubi when his emotions were in turmoil and went on a small rampage before he got control of himself… luckily Sakura and Sasuke were far away from Naruto so they weren't targeted by him accidentally, which was good. Although I did have to speak with Naruto about it, and he cried himself to unconsciousness after vomiting out his lunch…

Finally, Sakura… now she also had a bad reaction, but it wasn't anywhere near as terrible as Naruto's. However, she was very mindless when we were returning home, and I think I will have to have to have all three of them meet up in our training grounds later to have a heart to heart with them so that this doesn't develop into any mental issues in the future."

Finished Kakashi, and Hiruzen had to take a minute to process all the information Kakashi has given, before he responded:

"I see… well, I do suggest you do so, otherwise who knows how unstable Sasuke or Naruto could become in the future if things aren't resolved… don't think I haven't forgotten about Sakura if you're thinking that, it's I rather not have Kyuubi take advantage of Naruto's unstable emotions… also be sure to observe Sasuke when he goes home to make sure he isn't trying to hide how he really feels from you… as for Sakura just help her the best you can, and Sakura's parents can do the rest as I recall that her father was a retired Special Jonin, so he should be able to help her as well… now then their strength levels…" uttered the Third and Kakashi nodded in understanding before speaking again:

"For their strength levels, they are quite decent for their age, and I have taken your advice to heart and decided to train them into the ground… I have taken to training them Anbu Style as I have experience training new recruits when I was a Captain so I thought this would be the best approach. Anyway, here is their individual strength:

For Sasuke, he has a good foundation, for Taijutsu he is around Elite Genin to Low-Chunin and I have made sure to train his endurance, speed and reaction ability. For Ninjutsu I checked his Elemental Affinities, along with the other two, and found out that he has Lightning as his Primary Element, with a strong Secondary Element for Fire which is typical for the Uchiha Clan… now I haven't given Sasuke any new Jutsu, however I am, along with the other two, training their Chakra control for better combat ability.

For Genjutsu, I really don't know as I am no Genjutsu specialist, but Sasuke has clarified that he can break out of most Genjutsu below B-Rank. Finally, for Shurikenjutsu, Sasuke is a natural like most Uchiha, although he isn't as good for now due to not having awakened his Sharingan for better calculation and brain processing that would be required for the signature Uchiha Shuriken techniques they usually use, but he is getting there.

Next Naruto, from just a glance you can see the effect of the sabotage that Naruto has been experiencing from his time there has bled into his skills, his foundation for Taijutsu, Ninjutsu, Genjutsu although that isn't surprising, and Shurikenjutsu is horrendous to say the least. I had to physically build Naruto from the ground up from Taijutsu all the way through to Shurikenjutsu, and that wasn't easy until I remembered about his favourite Jutsu and revealed the secret of the Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu to him, and to say the least he was ecstatic to figure it out after explaining it in simple terms… I also noticed Sasuke's and Sakura's interest in learning the Jutsu, but I had to flat out tell them no and explained the steep requirements for using the Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu as a training method and how difficult it is…

Anyway, back on topic. After fixing Naruto's academy Taijutsu, I decided to teach Naruto the ANBU style of fighting, ruthlessness and flexibility, combined with effective nerve strikes and killing blows and you get a Chakra powerhouse that is basically an ANBU squad by himself. I, also like Sasuke checked his Elemental Affinities, and surprisingly he had a very strong affinity for the Wind Element … I then decided to teach him some C-Rank Wind release that work in tandem with Sasuke's Fire Release as well so that's fine. Finally, I made his Clones train in their Shurikenjutsu to make it up to my standards as well so that Naruto has something to fall back on when he runs out of Chakra, if he ever does… overall, solid Elite Genin to Low-Chunin like Sasuke.

Finally, Sakura, now I didn't need as much work as I needed with Naruto, but it wasn't as easy with Sakura as at the beginning she was refusing to go along with the training as she rather would spend time with Sasuke or hit Naruto, but I decisively dealt with both issues… in fact I went over to her father and had him take care of the things I couldn't as there is certain business that only family can do that a sensei can't.

Anyway, for her I noticed that due to her small reserves she had excellent Chakra control, but I wasn't going to let her slack off, so I made her run up and down a massive tree to increase her reserves… next I also am having her study Medical Ninjutsu since she has great memory along with her Chakra Control, I think she has a great future in the Medical field. Finally, I have given her a better Taijutsu style that focuses on speed and accuracy… I remembered having it from when I stole the style from a Kumo Jonin back in the Third War, and after seeing her more petite frame I thought it would be a perfect fit for her. Overall, she has solid Genin strength and is only getting better…"

Finished Kakashi after a very long monologue and Hiruzen after hearing and processing all of the information from Kakashi was very impressed with how he has managed this team. For only having them for over two weeks or so, Kakashi has already managed to not only fix many habits but has gone to great lengths to do so with improving his student's strengths on top of it. Fixing Naruto's Taijutsu, Ninjutsu and Chakra control… fixing Sasuke's attitude, and cooperation with his teammates, and fixing Sakura's personality, and Ninja Skills… overall Hiruzen definitely has to congratulate Kakashi on making such progress in such short time and with the ANBU style training he is putting them through, he can definitely see these rising stars in the making going far in their careers. Hiruzen then spoke to Kakashi:

"Well done, Kakashi, you have done an outstanding job thus far with your team. From their personality to their skills, from their cooperation and more, I can already see the elite team I formed coming to fruition… expect a package at your home later today or tomorrow as commemoration for your achievements thus far. Anyway, why don't you go and spend some time with your team or send them home for rest, you have all earned it…" finished Hiruzen and Kakashi was happy that the Hokage appreciated his hard work thus far and he himself Is satisfied with the level of skill his team has already, but he knows that this isn't enough and there is still work to do, so he nodded and proceeded to leave the room with an eye smile and a bow to the Hokage.

Hiruzen smiled slightly when he saw Kakashi's happy 'expression' when he left as he could see the pure joy he had when his efforts were acknowledged. He gave a small chuckle at that… but, when Hiruzen turned back to his desk, he noticed that somehow during his talk with Kakashi, Tsurumi managed to sneak in more paperwork that he needs to do.

Hiruzen's happy mood immediately turned sour with his face scrunching up into a frown, a vein instantly throbbing at the side of his head when he saw his 'enemy' smugly sitting on his desk… Hiruzen unconsciously gripped Ryūjin Jakka in his hand so hard he felt that he would crack the near indestructible wood that surrounded it, but he took a deep breath and stiffly moved back and sat down on his desk to finish the work he was given…

FLASHBACK: END

Hiruzen after thinking back on that meeting, decided that after finishing up this paperwork would go home early to work on what he discussed with Kakashi later that day.

1 Hour Later –

After finishing up that paperwork, Hiruzen got up, picked up Ryūjin Jakka and used Shunpo to return to his compound. After a few seconds Hiruzen was back in his home, taking off his Captain's Haori and hanging it on the side with his Waraji sandals placed neatly near the door, he moved into his study where he kept many important documents and techniques closely guarded by himself and the clan members, he started moving and shuffling scrolls until he pulled out the one he was looking for and made his way over to his desk and unfolded it:

Four Elements Seal:

The Four Elements Seal is an advanced Fūinjutsu created by layering two Two Elements Seals in a complementary formation. This seal is designed to contain, regulate, and restrict powerful chakra sources, ensuring that the sealed force does not overwhelm its host or container.

When applied, the seal forms a balanced structure, suppressing the sealed target while allowing a controlled amount of its chakra to leak out through the user's volition. This controlled release through possible Hand Signs or Mental Control enables the host to access the sealed power gradually, preventing immediate loss of control. The seal's strength is derived from the harmony between the two layered seals, which reinforce each other to prevent the containment from being undone easily.

Danger's/Warnings:

Seal Deterioration: If tampered with or weakened over time, the containment may become unstable, allowing the sealed power to leak excessively or even break free. External Interference: A skilled Fūinjutsu user may be able to disrupt, weaken, or override the seal, breaking its structure. Host Rejection: If the host's chakra is not compatible with the seal, it may cause unforeseen strain, making it harder to control the sealed target. Forced Activation: If subjected to extreme stress, the host may involuntarily draw out too much of the sealed power, risking loss of self-control.

Hiruzen after going over everything again nodded, before getting to work. Hiruzen after his conversation with Kakashi remembered something about Kakashi. Hatake Kakashi, also known throughout the Elemental Nations as, Kakashi of the Sharingan, is the only non-Uchiha to possess the Kekkei Genkai due to incidents that happened during the Third Great Ninja War… Kakashi was originally a Genin under the Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze, or more specifically Jonin Minato Namikaze as later in the war he would earn the qualifications to be Hiruzen's successor for the Hokage position.

Afterwards on Kakashi's first mission as a new Jonin through wartime promotion, Kakashi lead his team through a dangerous mission to destroy Kannabi Bridge in the Land of Grass as it was a key supply line for not only resources but an accessway for Iwagakure Shinobi who were invading the Land of Fire… unfortunately due to Konoha being on the receiving end of assaults from all the other Four Great Ninja Villages, Minato Namikaze, Team 7's Sensei at the time handed off the Leadership to Kakashi as he was the highest in rank at that time and Minato himself was needed on the Main Battlefield, and due to his mastery of the Second Hokage's Flying Thunder God Jutsu, was able to travel to and from the battlefield.

Afterwards through a few events Rin Nohara one of the other two Genin of Team 7 at that time was captured by Iwagakure forces and held hostage, but Kakashi at that time was adamant about completing his mission of destroying Kannabi Bridge at all costs, but his 'best friend' Obito Uchiha, the final Genin and team member of Team 7 refused and went to rescue Rin while saying words that would forever be stuck to Kakashi to the day he would die… managing to not only convince Kakashi of the errors of himself, but also help Obito in rescuing Rin Nohara which they did after Kakashi lost his left eye and Obito himself awakening the Sharingan.

However, tragedy struck and Obito in order to save Kakashi, pushed him out of the way and got half of his body crushed by a massive boulder that would have fell on Kakashi. The cave was collapsing and Obito in an act of kindness, gifted Kakashi with his 'undestroyed' left eye to replace the one he lost, and with the help of Rin managed to implant it properly… as the cave was on the verge of collapse Kakashi promised to protect Rin and he escaped with her after killing many Iwagakure Shinobi with his signature move 'Chidori'.

Now, the Sharingan is an incredibly powerful Dojutsu Kekkei Genkai, the problem is that implanting a Dojutsu into a non-Dojutsu user causes the user to not bring out its full potential and place a heavy burden on them as well. Kakashi, as a non-Uchiha cannot bring out the Sharingan's potential… in fact Kakashi can't deactivate the Dojutsu as he doesn't possess the Uchiha bloodline either, so it has been active in Kakashi for over a decade without reprieve and has stunted Kakashi's growth as a Shinobi. Hiruzen plans to use the Four Symbols Seal which he copied from the Hokage Library, to seal away the Sharingan in Kakashi's left eye, and allow him the ability to activate and deactivate the Dojutsu like an Uchiha. This would further improve and enhance Kakashi's combat abilities and won't cause him to always pass out after using the Dojutsu for extensive periods of time.

Hiruzen after having read over the scroll to make sure he hasn't made any mistakes and has memorised everything thoroughly nodded to himself and put back the scroll into his library. He looked at his clock and noticed that it was still early in the afternoon and Kakashi should be with his team at their training grounds, picked up the Storage Scroll he made days earlier that still holds all of his Sealing Supplies, went downstairs, put on his Haori and sandals and used Shunpo again, leaving his home and going to meet Team 7…

Location: Team 7 Training Ground's –

Kakashi and his students were currently going through their separate exercises, well, the students were as Kakashi was overseeing each one to make sure they weren't doing anything wrong when suddenly Kakashi turned to notice that a blur entered his and his students vision and appeared Hiruzen himself in all of his glory standing there with his trusted crutch in hand, looking like the wise and venerable leader he is.

Kakashi raised an eyebrow in surprise as he wasn't expecting the Hokage to show up in Team 7's training grounds, especially since Kakashi wasn't aware of his visit either so he was confused. Kakashi then looked over to his Genin and signalled them to stop and come over to meet the Hokage… the Genin nodded and stopped what they were doing and made their way over to Kakashi and Hiruzen who was waiting for them. After a few seconds, all three of them arrived and gave a respectful bow to the Hokage, who just nodded and looked at Kakashi and decided to speak:

"Kakashi… before I address why I am here, may I ask if they know about your eye?" asked Hiruzen and Kakashi again, was very confused, first at the Hokage's unexpected arrival, and now this question that was related to his Sharingan? Kakashi didn't answer for a second before he spoke:

"Yes, Hokage-Sama. They do know about my Sharingan as they have done some background research on me in their free-time, and after learning of my moniker Sasuke being the most direct of the three decided to ask about it, to which I explained the history of why I possess the Dojutsu… why Hokage-Sama, what does this have to do with my Sharingan?"answered Kakashi in a confused manor, and Hiruzen nodded before explaining:

"Well, since I have had free time, and along with our conversation three days ago, when I saw your happy expression when leaving my office, I was inadvertently attracted to your covered eye. I after a while remembered about your problems with using the eye since you are a non-Uchiha and have been thinking about what I can do about your problem as you have been stuck at Elite Jonin level for over a decade due to the Sharingan stunting your growth, and I have successfully found a way where you can utilise the eye better than before, with it allowing you to activate and deactivate it at your own volition." Said Hiruzen, and Kakashi along with the rest of Team 7 were surprised at what the Hokage just said, especially Kakashi and Sasuke as they know that the Sharingan can't be deactivated by non-Uchiha's at all since they don't possess the Uchiha bloodline…

Kakashi himself was flabbergasted at what the Hokage had said, being able to deactivate and activate the eye on his own? In his younger years when he gained the eye, he tried to find a way to utilise the Sharingan better, but due to his own sensei Minato Namikaze being so busy with becoming Hokage, and with himself always going on missions to help forget the pain of losing Obito along with the death of Rin, he never was able to find a way or to be exact never thought of trying to find a way to be able to utilise his Dojutsu better… and now he had a way of being able to do so after so many years?

Kakashi himself blanked out for a while, trying to process everything Hiruzen just said to him, Hiruzen himself patiently waited for Kakashi to gather himself as he knows that this is a big and important thing for him… after about a minute or so, Kakashi barely managed to gather himself before subconsciously touching the hitai-ate that was covering his Sharingan before asking the Hokage:

"Hokage-Sama, what is the way you found?" he asked with a barely contained excitement, Hiruzen then calmly answered:

"I will be utilising a compressed version of the Four Symbol Seals, along with high-quality vanishing ink, to make it so that the Seal is hidden from view. I will have to manually paint it over your eye and have no distractions for about 30 minutes or so, but otherwise everything should go smoothly. All you would have to do, would be to channel a miniscule amount of Chakra to the Seal to activate and deactivate the seal, and don't worry as you won't need to continuously provide Chakra to the seal either so that has been taken care of. Now then, when the Seal is activated, it will seal away the Chakra that is forcefully being used to keep the Sharingan activated, and when deactivated, the Chakra in you with rush towards the eye and Activate the Sharingan once more… do you understand?" answered Hiruzen, and when Kakashi heard what Hiruzen was using, he was really surprised.

Kakashi himself although not very versatile in the art of Fūinjutsu, he was still very knowledgeable about different types of seals, and when he heard the Four Symbols Seal was being used, he was very shocked, because although he hasn't learned this type of seal before, he has heard of it. In fact, what the Yondaime Hokage used to seal away the Kyuubi into Naruto Uzumaki was using the 'Reaper Death Seal' then through the Shinigami he sealed the Kyuubi using the 'Eight Trigrams Sealing Style' which is a double layered Four Symbols Seal on top of one another.

The Four Symbol's Seal is normally utilised to seal Tailed Beasts, but unexpectedly, the Hokage was going to use it to seal away the Sharingan?

Kakashi was a bit baffled, but didn't mind and just gave a nod to the Hokage in understanding, Hiruzen nodded again at Kakashi and gestured for him to sit down and take of his hitai-ate. Kakashi nodded, sitting down and taking off his hitai-ate to reveal his scared left eye, with the eerily glowing red eye that was the Sharingan… when Hiruzen saw the eye, he didn't react at all as he has seen scarier things than some coloured eyeball, however Naruto and Sakura were different as they weren't expecting the Sharingan to look like that, as although they have heard of the Sharingan and know of the Uchiha Clan's prized Dojutsu, they have actually never seen it, especially since Sasuke admitted he 'hasn't' awakened the Dojutsu yet and Kakashi telling them he doesn't use it unless absolutely necessary, so they are very much surprised that this moment.

Hiruzen didn't bother with the Genin's reaction and unsealed all his sealing supplies and arranging them appropriately, he spoke:

"Can you close the eye please." Requested Hiruzen and Kakashi nodded before closing the eye, revealing the scar cut down his eye as well.

Hiruzen wasn't bothered and picked up his brush and started carefully painting the Four Symbol's Seal over Kakashi's Sharingan, making sure to go around the eye as well since there are Chakra pathways that are connected to the eye and those need to be included into the parameters of the Sealing Matrix for the seal to work properly…

After about half an hour, Hiruzen put down his brush and made sure to look over the complex sealing matrix that was painted over Kakashi's eye to be sure that there wasn't any possible mistakes made during the process, as in the art of Fūinjutsu, even a very, very, small stroke that wasn't supposed to go somewhere happened, it could affect the result of the entire sealing and could result in dangerous consequences. So Hiruzen is being very cautious with this process, and after a few minutes of analysing and making sure nothing was wrong, nodded to himself, and gently raised his finger to the centre of the Sealing Matrix, placing his finger on it and spoke to Kakashi:

"For the first activation, this will hurt a bit, but it is nothing unbearable… are you ready?" asked Hiruzen to which Kakashi nodded in understanding and Hiruzen gently guided his Reiryoku to the seal, and raising his unused hand into a half-Ram Seal spoke:

"Fūin!" Spoke Hiruzen, and his Reiryoku went into the seal, causing the Four Symbol's Seal to glow:

"Gmmh…" Kakashi grunted slightly from the pain, but as Hiruzen said, it wasn't something unbearable, especially to all the stuff Kakashi went through in his life, this wasn't much. After a few seconds the Four Symbol's Seal that was around Kakashi's eye faded as if it never existed, but Kakashi could feel the existence of the seal that was around his eye… in fact he barely felt any Chakra being used to activate the seal, it was completely negligible compared to the amount it drained from him over the past decade…

Kakashi after a second opened his left eye, and what greeted everyone wasn't the red glow of the Sharingan, but a regular black coloured eye, indistinguishable from Kakashi's non-Dojutsu eye… Kakashi blinked a few times and started looking around him, the Sharingan although a powerful Dojutsu always made him have to cover it up as it would constantly drain him even for very mundane tasks like just looking around, the eye would also continuously keep processing information into his brain at speeds his mind was not built to handle but forced to adapt to. Now when he looked around, he noticed that everything wasn't moving in slow motion, nor was he constantly predicting what move Hiruzen or his three students were doing…

Hiruzen after seeing that the Sealing was successful smiled at Kakashi, then picking up his Storage Scroll, sealed back all his items and calmly placing it back into his Shihakushō. Kakashi seeing that smile immediately became happy as Hiruzen doesn't need words for Kakashi to know that his Sharingan has been Sealed… then he looked at Hiruzen who opened his mouth to speak:

"As you can probably tell, the Sealing was successful… now I want to test, channel a small portion of your Chakra to the seal to deactivate it." Spoke Hiruzen and Kakashi nodded before channelling a small portion of his chakra to the seal around his eye, and instantly, the world slowed down for him and the processing power of the Sharingan activated and started analysing everything around him.

Hiruzen seeing the Sharingan activated again smiled a bit, and he noticed that Kakashi once again transferred a small portion of his Chakra to the Seal, with the seal glowing and deactivating the Sharingan once more. Hiruzen was satisfied with the result and saw Kakashi come up to him and bow in gratitude, with Kakashi speaking:

"Thank you, Hokage-Sama! This really means a lot to me, now that I can use the Sharingan effectively I best get back into my own training, as there is a lot of it that I need to catch up on… thank you once again!" spoke Kakashi, and Hiruzen just offered a kind smile before asking him to rise and put a hand on his shoulder before speaking:

"It's the least I could do for all of your dedication to the village… now then, I guess I should leave and let you all get back to what you were doing…" spoke Hiruzen to which the four nodded before bowing once again to the aged leader, who left in a Shunpo back to his home to rest for the rest of the day…
