Chapter 171: Pixel-Perfect Precision
Liz flopped into her gaming throne, fingers dancing across the keyboard like a maestro conducting an orchestra.
The screens flickered to life, revealing a vibrant, blocky RPG world. "Watch this!"she exclaimed, excitement bubbling in her voice.
Her avatar,a fierce pink-haired warrior clad in shimmering diamond armor, leapt off a cliff, twisting gracefully midair before landing flawlessly on a hidden ledge.
"See? Pixel-perfect precision!" She spun her chair around to face Arthur, her eyes sparkling with triumph. "I've been practicing that move for two weeks straight."
Arthur leaned casually against the desk, raising an eyebrow."Why go through all that trouble?"
With a mischievous grin, Liz replied, "Because the world record holder said girls couldn't do it."
Her smile turned wicked as she added, "I beat his time by three seconds yesterday."
A laugh escaped Arthur before he could contain it.
"Of course you did! You're unstoppable."
Liz's expression softened as she swiveled back to her screens, suddenly lost in thought while rearranging her inventory.
"...I missed you, you know."
The raw honesty of her words hit Arthur like a punch to the gut.
He reached out and ruffled her already chaotic hair affectionately.
"I missed you too, Liz."
She playfully batted his hand away but didn't pull away completely,"You better not leave again anytime soon."
Arthur gazed at the stars adorning her walls, the way they dimmed and brightened with each breath she took, and promised softly, "I'll stay as long as I can."
It wasn't quite a promise; they both understood that unspoken truth.
With renewed energy, Liz kicked her feet up onto the desk and grabbed her controller with determination gleaming in her eyes.
"Good! Now watch me obliterate this noob!"
As the sounds of digital chaos erupted around them, Arthur allowed himself to savor this fleeting moment of peace,a reminder that amidst all the challenges ahead, some connections remain unbreakable.
Arthur glanced over at Liz, who was completely absorbed in her game, as he strolled around the room.
His boots sank slightly into the plush, star-patterned carpet beneath him.
This wasn't just any bedroom; it felt more like a high-end gaming den.
Neon lights danced along the walls, pulsing rhythmically with the ambient music that emanated from unseen speakers.
"Huh! What's this?" Arthur raised an eyebrow in surprise as he noticed a separate area in the corner of the room,an impressive setup that looked like a high-tech altar to gaming.
It was far more advanced than what Liz was currently using.
Previously, Arthur had missed it entirely while being pulled around by Liz's excitement.
He let out a low whistle. "Okay, Liz. What in the bleeding-edge tech heaven is this?"
Liz spun around in her throne-like chair, her grin widening like a child eager to show off their favorite toy.
"Ohhh, you're finally asking!" She leapt up, nearly toppling over a precarious tower of energy drinks in her enthusiasm.
"This, my dear skeptical Arthur, is the Aurora-V Gaming System, the absolute pinnacle of hyper-realistic gaming! Only two thousand of these exist worldwide, and guess what? This one is mine!"
Arthur crossed his arms and chuckled. "And how exactly did you score one of these?"
Her eyes sparkled with mischief. "Uncle Julian."
Arthur blinked in disbelief. "Julian? As in President-of-Osborn-Technology Julian?"
"The one and only." She flopped back into her chair with a satisfied sigh before spinning lazily again. "I may have pestered him for six months straight after Osborn unveiled this beast at the Global Game Expo, daily emails, tagged tweets... I even hacked his office coffee machine to display 'Give Liz The Aurora-V' every time he brewed coffee!"
Arthur snorted with laughter. "And that actually worked?"
She smirked triumphantly. "Nope! What really did the trick was when I beat his entire R&D team at Quake VII tournament style! He said if I could out-frag professionals, I deserved professional gear."
Arthur shook his head with an amused grin. "Of course you did."
Liz kicked her feet up on the desk and gestured grandly toward her setup. "Alright, prepare for sensory overload! Let me walk you through the holy grail of gaming tech."
She tapped the massive, nearly borderless screen, a grin spreading across her face. "This is the Display:Titan-V 8K 360Hz NanoEdge Monitor. But trust me, it's not just a monitor,it's a portal to another dimension!"
Arthur leaned in closer, his eyes widening as he took in the stunning clarity of the display; it was so crisp that he felt like he could reach right into it.
"Check this out,8K resolution," Liz said, flicking her finger across the display with flair.
"But here's where the real magic happens: AI upscaling! Even if a game is only running in 4K, this beauty instantly converts it to 8K without any lag. And look at this!"
She pointed at her eyes and then back at the screen.
"Eye-tracking foveated rendering means it only fully renders exactly where I'm looking, saving GPU power while keeping everything razor-sharp where it counts."
Arthur raised an eyebrow skeptically. "So... it cheats?"
Liz gasped dramatically, feigning offense. "It optimizes! And with a jaw-dropping 360Hz refresh rate, motion is so smooth it's like reality itself is buffering!"
With a flourish, she yanked open a side panel to reveal an illuminated interior filled with high-tech components humming softly. Two massive GPUs glowed inside like prized jewels.
"Dual Nexus-X cards," she said proudly, patting one affectionately as if it were a pet. "Each one is about four times faster than whatever top-tier garbage normies are using these days! And with 6th-gen photon tracing? The lighting isn't just realistic, it feels alive! Shadows bend naturally and light bounces off surfaces just like in real life."
She pointed enthusiastically at a small AI chip nestled among the components. "Smart Frame Generation predicts my moves and renders frames before I even input them!"
Arthur frowned again. "That sounds suspiciously like cheating."
Liz rolled her eyes playfully. "It's called winning, big brother!"
"And check out the Processor & RAM: Aurora-V CPU & Vortex-X DDR6." She gestured toward the centerpiece of her rig,a sleek black block housing a holographic core that seemed to pulse with energy.
"This baby has a 24-core Aurora-V CPU with a base clock of 5.2GHz that can boost up to 6.0GHz when I need extra power! And these?"
She pointed to four glowing RAM sticks lined up neatly in their slots.
"256GB of DDR6 running at an astonishing 12,000MHz! Most people don't even have that much storage, let alone RAM this fast!"
Arthur whistled lowly in disbelief. "And you need all this… why?"
Liz smirked confidently. "Because I can."
