Chapter 684: Chapter 685: Alchemist Guest Official
Chapter 685: Alchemist Guest Official
Within the vast spiritual array, two figures sat cross legged. The ancient Mandala Flower, formed from concentrated spiritual light, radiated a deep purple glow.
The mystical purple light cascaded downwards, suppressing the black thorns that writhed madly beneath Mandala's skin. Despite its efforts, the curse failed to break free, though the black thorns' barbs continued to leave horrifying marks on her pale skin.
Thankfully, Mandala's Earth Sovereign level vitality was extraordinarily robust. Under the healing effects of the boundless spiritual energy, the hideous wounds began to close.
Mandala let out a stifled groan as her body was completely shrouded in darkness, appearing as though sculpted from pitch black sludge.
Meanwhile, Xiao Ze firmly gripped her hand, his palm alight with golden flames. The Origin Heavenly Flame burned away any cursed energy that dared to infect him.
Xiao Ze couldn't help but marvel at the curse's tenacity. Without hesitation, he intensified the flame's power.
The Origin Heavenly Flame flowed ceaselessly into Mandala's body, forming radiant golden runes that etched themselves onto the curse. As time passed, the curse's black thorns began to shimmer faintly with golden light.
Upon closer inspection, the golden glow came from the intricate divine runes etched onto the curse. Though faintly obscured by the black energy, these runes steadily spread, resisting all attempts by the curse to shake them off.
Once the golden runes completely covered the curse and unified into a singular, seamless seal, the suppression would be complete.
Mandala, understanding the situation, began pouring her spiritual energy into suppressing the curse's explosive retaliation.
Suddenly, she sent a spiritual message to Xiao Ze.
"Don't worry about my body. Carve the runes directly onto me!"
Xiao Ze hesitated briefly before nodding in agreement. If carving the runes directly onto the curse was too challenging, using Mandala's body as a medium was a viable alternative.
"Understood!"
The Origin Heavenly Flame ignited around Xiao Ze, enveloping him in a divine fiery robe. Even his long hair gleamed with a holy golden radiance.
The fire surged forth, engulfing both him and Mandala.
Though her black robe was crafted from extraordinary materials, it disintegrated into nothingness under the flame's intense heat, revealing her body, now completely blackened by the curse's corruption.
Xiao Ze maintained his focus, carving the golden runes across her skin. From her hands to her arms, from her shoulders to her abdomen, the divine markings spread.
As the golden runes continued to expand, the violent and oppressive aura emanating from Mandala gradually weakened.
When the final golden rune was etched onto her forehead, the terrifying curse was fully suppressed and retreated into the depths of her body.
Mandala's skin, once tainted black, began returning to its original pale hue. However, faint golden runes shimmered across her now unblemished skin, giving her an almost divine appearance.
Xiao Ze remained composed. Mandala's youthful appearance suggested she was only eleven or twelve, a physical manifestation of the Mandala Flower's slow growth.
With the curse further subdued, Mandala's internal condition stabilized.
The golden runes formed by the Origin Heavenly Flame etched themselves deeper onto the curse within her, fully suppressing its power.
As the final rune was engraved, Mandala coughed violently, spitting out a mouthful of pitch black blood.
The black blood, reeking of corruption and highly corrosive, warped the surrounding spiritual energy as it splattered.
Xiao Ze, seated directly across from Mandala, was in the path of the vile substance. Yet, no matter how menacing the cursed blood seemed, it was no match for the Origin Heavenly Flame.
The golden flames surged from Xiao Ze, incinerating the black blood into nothingness.
Mandala slowly opened her golden eyes, exhaustion evident in her gaze. Suppressing the curse had taken an enormous toll, even with Xiao Ze's assistance.
Seeing her weariness, Xiao Ze retrieved a robe from his storage ring and draped it gently over her small, bare frame.
Scooping her up carefully, he leapt to the dais at the back of the hall and placed her onto a cushioned chair.
"Rest here for a while, Senior," he said softly.
Mandala gave a barely perceptible nod before leaning back to recuperate.
Meanwhile, Xiao Ze returned to the center of the hall, his gaze fixed on the still glowing spiritual array. His eyes reflected a mixture of curiosity and admiration.
In the Great Thousand World, spiritual array masters held an esteemed place. This illustrious path of cultivation could rival even the peak powers of Saint Heavenly Sovereigns.
Xiao Ze, having studied formations back in the Dou Qi Continent, found himself intrigued by the intricacies of spiritual arrays.
"Spiritual arrays… They resonate with the power of heaven and earth, drawing upon its might to create formations for attack, defense, and countless other uses."
Xiao Ze muttered to himself as he scrutinized the complex array before him.
Behind him, Mandala's voice called out.
"You have knowledge of spiritual arrays?"
"Not quite," Xiao Ze replied, turning toward her. "I'm just interested in learning more."
Mandala hesitated briefly before speaking.
"Would you consider staying in the Daluo Heavenly Territory? While the curse has been suppressed by your flame, I…"
Xiao Ze nodded before she could finish. He understood her hesitation. While she trusted him to an extent, relying on external forces like his flame left lingering uncertainties.
Mandala herself was caught off guard by his readiness. She had intended to use this as a pretext to offer him sanctuary, believing his willingness to help her stemmed from genuine trust.
"Very well," Xiao Ze said calmly. "Besides, the seal is only temporary. My promise to resolve your curse is not yet fulfilled. In the meantime, I can contribute by assisting your forces with my alchemy skills."
Mandala's golden eyes brightened with intrigue.
"Alchemy, you say?"
In the Great Thousand World, myriad paths of cultivation flourished: spiritual array masters, spiritual artifact refiners, war array masters, alchemists… Each held its unique prestige.
For Xiao Ze to claim expertise in alchemy, a profession critical to cultivation, piqued her interest.
"Then I'll have to test your skills," she said with a slight smile. "If you prove yourself capable, I'll officially appoint you as an Alchemist Guest Official of the Daluo Heavenly Territory."
