Chapter 661: Chapter 662: Battle with the Endless River

Chapter 662: Battle with the Endless River

Xiao Ze's concerns about the tenfold feedback from the Nine Rank Golden Pill had driven him to the Endless Void in search of the Endless River. His ultimate goal was to refine it and harness its power for his own use. As he had explained to Xun Er earlier, his core elemental affinity was water. Though he used fire and lightning as secondary elements, his primary strength lay in water.

If he could refine the Endless River, it might provide the energy he needed to bridge the gap to the Dou Di realm.

Following his connection to the water droplet he had received, Xiao Ze traversed the Endless Void at incredible speed. Even when faced with chaotic spatial currents or space storms, he used the Primordial Emperor Flame to burn them to nothing, allowing him to press forward without pause.

As he ventured deeper, the dangers of the Void intensified. Chaotic flows and storms, created over countless years by the energy of battles from the Dou Qi Continent, had accumulated here, making the deeper regions exceedingly perilous. Any entity capable of surviving such hazards had to be even more ferocious and powerful.

Golden flames ignited in the darkness, burning through a massive spatial current that spanned thousands of meters. Xiao Ze was stunned by the sheer scale of the turbulence it was hard to imagine such immense forces existing.

For an ordinary Dou Saint, being caught in such a chaotic current would likely mean certain death. Even if one managed to avoid being ripped apart by the space itself, the constant drain on Dou Qi would eventually lead to exhaustion and demise.

Yet, what would be catastrophic for most was little more than fuel for the Primordial Emperor Flame, which burned through the chaos with ease.

As Xiao Ze continued onward, he paused briefly, taking stock of his progress.

"The Endless Void is vast beyond imagination. Even at my current speed, I've traveled what would be equivalent to crossing the entire Dou Qi Continent, yet I'm still far from the Endless River…"

His estimation left him awed. The Endless River had once transported a fragment of his soul to the depths of the Void almost instantaneously. Despite relying on advanced spatial techniques, Xiao Ze couldn't deny the immense power of the Endless River.

After burning through another space storm, the suffocating darkness around Xiao Ze gave way to a radiant, azure glow. Before him stretched a breathtaking scene: an immense, winding river of vivid blue that seemed to span infinity.

The river twisted and turned, its expanse both wide and narrow. In some places, it was only a few kilometers across, while in others, it spanned hundreds of kilometers. Though it resembled an endless ocean, its flow clearly marked it as a river.

As Xiao Ze gazed at the river, his expression turned serious. The water droplet's connection unmistakably pointed to this river it was the Endless River.

Compared to the ethereal image he had seen in his soul state, the physical presence of the river was far more imposing. Its vastness was almost incomprehensible.

What troubled Xiao Ze most was the feedback from his imperial level soul. Each droplet of the river was a condensed mass of pure, immense energy. Such a phenomenon reminded him of the Ancient Bodhi Tree, which also radiated boundless power.

Even the likes of Gu Yuan and the Soul Heavenly Emperor didn't exude this same overwhelming presence. Though they were peak Nine Star Dou Saints with vast reserves of Dou Qi, their strength relied on drawing energy from the heavens and earth. Their own energy was far from infinite.

The Endless River, on the other hand, felt inexhaustible.

This realization made Xiao Ze hesitate. The sheer power of the river suggested it was far beyond his current level. Perhaps he should wait until he grew stronger before attempting to confront it.

As if sensing Xiao Ze's hesitation, the once calm river began to churn violently. Towering waves surged forth, and within the waves, countless figures began to take shape.

These figures, formed from the river's water, varied in strength. Some emitted the auras of Dou Saints, while others were as weak as Dou Emperors. Their faces were indistinct, but Xiao Ze could see faint traces of fear and resentment etched into their forms.

"Could these be the remnants of those consumed by the World Destroying Torrent?" Xiao Ze muttered to himself.

He was well aware of the Endless River's power. The World Destroying Torrent, a heavenly tier Dou Technique granted by the river, devoured everything in its path. It wouldn't be surprising if the river retained the essence of its victims.

As Xiao Ze pondered, the figures surged toward him like a tide of feral beasts. Each movement carried the immense energy of the heavens and earth. A single punch from one of these figures could likely shatter mountains or split the earth.

Despite their terrifying power, Xiao Ze remained calm.

"It's been a while since I used water based techniques. Ironic, considering it's my primary element," he remarked with a faint smile.

A pale blue sphere of water formed in his hand. With a flick of his wrist, countless droplets shot forth from the sphere. Though tiny, each droplet carried an overwhelming weight, akin to an entire mountain or ocean.

As the droplets struck the oncoming figures, they exploded into bursts of azure mist. It was as though the figures had been crushed by a divine mountain rather than touched by mere water droplets.

"The power of the Vast Ocean Pearl remains formidable," Xiao Ze said, observing the destruction. "Even now, a single droplet enhanced by its power can easily shatter mountains."

The Vast Ocean Pearl, a treasured artifact, had served Xiao Ze well in the past, particularly for its ability to conceal his aura. However, with the addition of lightning and fire based powers to his arsenal, he had used it less frequently.

"Still, this is just the river's way of testing me," Xiao Ze muttered, his expression turning serious. "The real challenge has yet to come."

As the shattered figures dissipated, the river's surface began to ripple ominously. Xiao Ze tightened his grip on the Vast Ocean Pearl, readying himself for the Endless River's next move.
