Chapter 146: Medusa Teases Wu Tian, Searching for Qing Lin
While Wu Tian and Medusa flirted openly on the lake's surface, the three women watching from the shore blushed fiercely. They wanted to leave but feared disturbing them. They tried to avert their eyes, yet curiosity held them in place. Deep down, they could only pray that Wu Tian and Medusa would control themselves and not put on a passionate display right before their very eyes.
Although their lips had separated, their arms remained locked around each other, as if afraid the other might slip away.
Face to face, their breaths intertwined in the lingering warmth of their closeness.
Wu Tian's blood still glistened on Medusa's lips, the crimson staining her already rosy lips with an even deeper shade of allure. A single drop of blood had trickled down to her chin, adding a touch of seductive danger, like a deadly rose in full bloom.
"Did it hurt when I bit you, Guardian Spirit?" Medusa asked, her lips curving playfully as her tongue flicked out to lick the corner of her mouth.
Wu Tian instinctively nodded. "Very much."
"Good. Remember that~"
Her slanted eyes narrowed into a sharp crescent, and her sultry voice dragged out the last words in a honeyed yet ominous tone. It sent a shiver down Wu Tian's spine not of fear, but of exhilaration.
His heart pounded as he immediately recognized the signs Medusa was jealous.
A smirk tugged at his lips.
"Guardian Spirit, I still can't fully absorb the energy of the Earth Flame Lotus Seed just yet, but after one more absorption, I should be able to. When that time comes, I will awaken for a short period… My dear Guardian Spirit, will you~ be~ hap?"
Her slender fingers lifted his chin, forcing him to meet her gaze. Medusa's proud, royal demeanor was evident in every syllable of her slow, commanding words.
Wu Tian's lips twitched, and he forced a smile. "Of course, I'm happy!"
"Pfft~ Hehehe~"
Medusa giggled softly, her laughter carrying a teasing lilt. "I know you're doing all this for me, my dear. I look forward to our next meeting… I really, really want to take human form soon~! Oh, and don't forget to wear my clothes, okay~?"
With a gentle smile, her enchanting figure slowly descended, submerging into the lake.
Just before she vanished beneath the surface, she paused at a dangerously suggestive position, her sultry eyes gazing up at Wu Tian.
Then, with a playful parting of her lips, she transformed back into the small, seven colored serpent.
"...Why am I getting excited? What am I so worked up about?"
Wu Tian let out a long sigh, shaking his head at his own foolish thoughts. That woman no, that queen was truly something else. If things were to progress the way he imagined, it would still take time.
As he watched the little snake swim through the water, he chuckled to himself.
Meanwhile, on the opposite shore, Xiao Yi Xian, Hua She'er, and Yue Mei were utterly dumbfounded. Their gazes lingered on Wu Tian's now glistening, well built back, their thoughts a complete mess.
The next morning, Wu Tian arrived at the grand hall of the serpent tribe's council. Sitting at the highest seat of honor, he overlooked the gathered serpent clan elites.
One after another, they reported on various matters, mainly concerning the tribe's internal affairs. The most detailed reports focused on the state of the Tagor Desert and the surrounding cities.
Currently, the Jia Ma Empire was unusually peaceful. No faction dared to stir trouble in the desert's border cities. After all, the serpent tribe now had an overwhelming advantage over the empire.
With eight powerful Dou Wang (Dou Kings), Hua She'er as the guardian captain, and three ancient elders, the serpent clan had a total of twelve Dou Wang experts far surpassing the Jia Ma Empire in sheer power.
And with Wu Tian, a Dou Huang (Dou Emperor), overseeing everything, it was an absolute suppression.
Jia Ma's rulers knew better than to provoke them.
In fact, since the serpent tribe had taken control, the desert's trade hubs had flourished, even more than when humans ruled them.
The biggest reason? Safety.
Under Wu Tian's rule, the serpent tribe had declared that all human cultivators who trained in the Tagor Desert would be protected, not harmed.
With this guarantee, countless battle qi practitioners flocked to the desert, eager for a safer, controlled training ground.
This surge of warriors brought tremendous prosperity to the border cities. So much so that they built a ninth desert city to accommodate the growing population.
Unlike the existing eight, this new city sat at the intersection of the Tagor Desert, the Magic Beast Mountain Range, and the Jia Ma Empire's central region.
A perfect safe zone for human and serpent cultivators alike.
The benefits were undeniable countless lives were saved, and within mere months, the city became as prosperous as the original eight.
Wu Tian nodded in approval.
This was an important milestone. With this new city as a foothold, the serpent clan could further expand even into the Magic Beast Mountain Range.
His gaze shifted to the three ancient elders.
These old serpents had been way too relaxed lately. Every day, they did nothing but wander around, completely carefree.
But it was precisely because of their wandering that they had discovered something very interesting.
"Guardian Spirit Lord, we've observed unusual magma activity beneath the volcanic region. The lava occasionally surges violently," one elder reported respectfully.
Wu Tian smirked.
"Seems like that slimy old snake is acting up again. Don't worry about it I'll handle it."
The elders nodded and fell silent.
Wu Tian then turned to Hua She'er and Yue Mei, his gaze sharp.
"What about Qing Lin? Have you found her?"
The two women exchanged glances before shaking their heads.
"Guardian Spirit Lord, we've searched thoroughly, but there's no trace of Qing Lin in any of the desert cities."
Wu Tian's expression darkened.
No trace?
Impossible.
Qing Lin should have been somewhere in one of the cities.
With the serpent clan's vast intelligence network, finding a single girl shouldn't have been difficult.
Yet, she had vanished without a trace.
Where could she be?
As for the slimy old snake that creature wasn't worth his time.
It was ugly, annoying, and outright weird.
Last time, when he and Medusa had gone to retrieve the Green Lotus Core Flame, that snake had suddenly appeared from nowhere completely out of place.
Something wasn't right with that thing.
But more importantly, Wu Tian had his own plans.
He needed Qing Lin.
If she could subdue that beast, the serpent tribe's defense would be solid while he traveled to Jia Nan Academy.
For now, though, he had no leads on her whereabouts.
His brows furrowed.
"What about Xiao Ding and Xiao Li?" Wu Tian asked.
