Broken Phantom

Six months had passed. 

Since the "disappearance" of Phantom in Amity Park. No one knew what had happened to their hero or why he had left.

Some were happy that the so-called menace was gone, while others couldn't help but feel sad that their protector had vanished. Yet nobody seemed to care that Danny Fenton was missing.

Some, like Mr. Lancer, asked his parents, but they were told he had been taken by a ghost. Others, who knew the truth, had changed. Sam and Tucker joined the GIW, becoming the public face of efforts to protect the city from the so-called "ecto-scum."

Jazz became closed off, moving out of her parents' home, and Searching for Danny from where ever he was, and Valerie was no different. She felt rage and hatred toward Sam and Tucker after Dani told her what had happened. She no longer speaks to them.

Danny's Pov

Six months. Six months, That's how long I've been in this hellhole, being tortured and experimented on day after day. Not a single day passed when I was left alone. Every day, I was taken to a lab and experimented on, screaming in pain as they cut me open.

I don't understand what's so fascinating about cutting me open repeatedly. They always say things like, "It's for the good of humanity," or, "Shut up, you piece of ecto-trash—you can't feel pain."

I was kept in a cell so small I couldn't even lie down properly. Having 27 power dampeners didn't help. Normally, one is enough for a person—maybe two or three if the person is strong. But for me, it was different. I kept getting stronger, so they kept adding more.

With my powers suppressed, I've been slowly building up energy for my escape. Finally, and finally, the time has come.

Jazz's Pov 

It's been half a year since Danny was taken by Maddie and Jack to the GIW. I can't even look at them—betraying their son like that.

I always told Danny that they were his parents and that they would love him no matter what. But I was wrong. Their obsession with ghosts was greater than their love for their kids. And Sam and Tucker? I never thought they'd throw him under the bus like that. Traitors.

Valerie and I have been looking for him for the past months but haven't found any leads. But we won't stop looking. "We will find you, Danny."

Amity had turned to hell since that faithful day, it started normally at first but when people started to notice the absence of Phantom the Ghost started to notice too, and let's just say that it's been only by the luck of the Ancients that no Top tier Ghost had decided to come out yet.

Amity had become a sort of battleground on the best of days and an all-out war zone on the worst and the GIW for all their Vocal thoughts have been able to do nothing about it and it seems nowadays haven't even been trying to. 

Valerie's Pov (Val's house) 

I was in my room, searching for anything that might lead me to Danny when I heard the doorbell. I went to open it and saw Jazz. She's really changed since that night. But then again, I have to.

"Hey, Jazz," I said, a little tired, having spent the whole week chasing dead-end leads.

"Hi, Val. I was wondering if you'd found anything yet," she said as I sighed and gestured for her to enter the living room. We sat down.

"No, not yet. It seems even the trackers are useless as long as Tucker's involved," I sighed. "Oh."

The look of sadness in her eyes pained me to see. Then she suddenly spoke. "How's Dani?" she asked with a small smile.

"She's good... You should visit more. She misses her Aunt Jazz," I teased.

"Well, I'm sure Big Sis Val can handle her alone," she chuckled.

"She's out at the moment. Went to the next town to cool down since it's been half a year and nothing." I explained.

"Oh." Her face darkened. Val herself could understand, they didn't know what those bastards were doing to Danny and they still had no leads to finding Him.

After a few minutes of silence, I heard her mutter something under her breath. "I'm going to kill those traitors."

"Calm down, Jazz. As much as I want that too, even Ellie knows Danny wouldn't want us going down that path," I said, clenching my fists.

The room was silent for a while. Then Jazz stood up. "I have to go, Val. We'll talk later," she said, heading to the door. As she stepped out, she added, "Say hi to Ellie for me."

Then she left. 'Danny, I hope you're okay,' I thought as I went back to my search.

Danny's Pov (Somewhere in a GIW Lab)

They had just finished cutting me open and thrown me back into my cell to heal. I used some of the energy I'd stored to push my healing factor into overdrive. 

After about 10 minutes, most of my critical wounds had healed. Now it seems everything is ready, He has stored enough energy in his core and now was the moment he'd been waiting for.

Proceeding with my plan, I released half the energy I'd stored, the explosion destroyed his cell and blew up half the building side, he was pretty sure he'd killed a lot of people. Had it been him before he would have felt bad for this, felt like a monster but after seeing what these 'people' have done, what they have done to him, they had no right to call anyone a monster.

The alarms blared. Agents rushed to capture me. Robots and weapons swarmed the hallways, aiming at me as I ran through the white corridors, only to come face-to-face with an army of agents blocking my path. 

I stopped, breathing heavily from pain and exhaustion after today's experiments. The 27 dampeners still strapped to my body made every movement excruciating. I knew I needed to get rid of at least two of them to have any chance, but I didn't have the time. 

I dropped into a battle stance. 

"Get back to your cell, ghost scum!" Agent O shouted. 

"Make me, you bastards!" I snarled back. 

"Even after months, you still have the will to defy us," said a voice I would never forget—the voice of one of the two who conducted test after test on me. Maddie Fenton. 

She emerged from behind the army of white-clad hunters, Jack Fenton following close behind. 

"Head back to the cell, ecto-trash," Jack said. 

Just seeing them made my blood boil. I was filled with rage and pain. My own parents—or, rather, ex-parents—had tortured their child, their own flesh and blood. They laughed at my pain as I begged them to free me, begged them to stop. But they just kept laughing, beating me, and saying, 'You can't feel pain or emotions.' 

Rage overtook me, and before I realized it, I was rushing forward. 

"Never... Never again will I go back!" I shouted as I punched, kicked, and blasted my way through the agents, dodging their attacks. Still, some shots hit their mark. 

'I can't keep wasting energy here,' I thought, taking out ten agents with a powerful ecto-blast. Suddenly, an explosion threw me out of the building and into the forest, crashing against a tree. I really wasn't in the best of shape right now and it was boldly showing.

As I struggled to stand, I saw Sam holding an ecto-bazooka. Before I could react, a laser hit me square in the chest sending me flying into another tree. 

"So, the traitors finally show themselves," I said, spitting out the glob of blood and ectoplasm from my mouth, glaring at her as Tucker came, standing beside her with a wrist ray. 

"I can't believe you guys," I said, my voice a mix of anger and sadness

"Why?... why?" 

Even after what they'd done, I couldn't help but still love them. I was angry but that didn't mean that I could just erase years of friendship in a snap, As a ghost he was sensitive to emotions so how could they have loved him a day before and immediately betrayed him the next it was something he just couldn't wrap his head around. 

"Because you're a freak," Tucker spat. 

"I don't even understand how I could've ever loved you," Sam added coldly. 

I fought as hard as I could, but I noticed I was being surrounded. 'I have to end this now,' I thought. 

Taking a deep breath, I unleashed my most powerful attack—my ghostly wail. The agents fell like dominoes, but the effort drained me completely. For the first time since my capture, I reverted to my human form. 

I was weak, but for the first time in a year, I felt free. 

As I turned to walk away, I heard movement. My heart sank as I turned and saw agents getting back up. 

"How... How is this possible?" I whispered, stunned. 

Sam smirked. "Thank the Fenton Phones you gave me," she said. 

"With a little tweak from me, of course," Tucker added, grinning.

"I knew you were nothing but a monster trying to kill us," Maddie said, her voice dripping with contempt. 

"You're nothing but a monster." 

Her words reignited my hatred. 'Did she just say that after everything they did to me?' 

"Let's just kill it. We have all the information we need," Jack said coldly.

Jazz's Pov (Earlier) 

I was heading back from the mall after picking up something for Dani when I saw Valerie coming from the direction of the Nasty Burger. 'Guess she was hungry,' I thought. 

"Val!" I called, getting her attention.

"I was just abo—" she started, but an explosion cut her off. 

It came from the edge of town. Without thinking, I took off toward the sound, a sense of dread overwhelming me. Valerie followed close behind. 

We reached the forest, where we saw the GIW rushing deeper into the trees. Quietly, we followed them. 

When we arrived, my heart leaped. There, in the center of the chaos, was Danny. 

I felt happiness, then panic, as I saw agents surrounding him. Without thinking, I screamed, "Daaaaaaannnnnnnnyyyyyyyy!" 

At that moment, I saw a flash of light. The last thing I heard was Danny's sorrowful voice: "I love you guys. Take care of Ellie for me." 

Then the explosion knocked me out.

Third-Person Pov

As the agents aimed their weapons at Danny, ready to fire, a voice suddenly boomed from the trees. 

"Daaaaaaannnnnnnnyyyyyyyy!" 

The halfa turned just in time to see Jazz and Valerie rushing toward him. But it was too late. The hunters had already fired. 

The last words heard were, "I love you guys. Take care of Ellie." 

Then—BOOM. 

Nothing. 

Nothing but smoke remained where Danny Phantom—or Danny Fenton—once stood.
