Chapter 12
The baby, Chen Weinian was wearing a pair of overalls that day. Worried that his stomach might catch a cold, he also had a small furry waistcoat underneath.
Wen Yusheng fumbled for a long time before finally peeling the little guy out of his clothes, like cracking open an egg.
By the time he was done, he was already sweating.
Although Chen Weinian was small, his clothing layers were thorough. As the saying went, although a sparrow was small, it had all the internal organs—it couldn’t have been truer.
Wen Yusheng had been busy for a while and started feeling hot, so he simply took off his coat and threw it on the stool beside him.
Holding his baby son in his arms, he washed him carefully, filling the room with a fragrant scent.
As soon as Niangao entered the water, he became extremely lively, like a slippery fat loach that couldn’t be caught.
He picked up the little rubber duck floating in the water and stuffed it into his mouth.
Wen Yusheng quickly covered his mouth with both hands. “You can’t eat it! You can’t eat the little duck!”
Sometimes, he had to admit that children had incredibly fast hands!
Even if he guarded the left hand, the right one would still cause trouble.
As soon as Wen Yusheng let go of one hand, Niangao immediately bit the duck.
Despite being a quick-reacting Alpha, Wen Yusheng couldn’t stop him in time and could only watch helplessly as the little duck’s head disappeared into Nian Gao’s mouth.
He was about to explode!
“Niangao, be obedient. You can’t bite this.”
Nian Gao completely ignored him. Wen Yusheng could say whatever he wanted, but Niangao kept biting the duck. Once it was in his mouth, nothing else mattered.
“Let go!”
“Hurry up and let go!”
“I’m going to be so mad at you!”
Eventually, Wen Yusheng felt like he was on the verge of collapse. He ran out of the master bedroom and yelled downstairs to Chen Yumo, who was working.
“Husband—! Come take care of your son! I’m going to lose my mind!”
Wen Yusheng was so angry that he didn’t even realize he had just blurted out “husband.”
Chen Yumo, unfazed, walked upstairs calmly. He had experienced this scenario countless times before.
“Let me see. Don’t be angry,” Chen Yumo said as he approached.
The first thing Chen Yumo did when he went upstairs wasn’t to check on Niangao but to comfort Wen Yusheng.
Wen Yusheng huffed and said, “Hurry up and deal with your son! I was this close to starting a fight with him!”
His voice was muffled with frustration, and it was clear he was truly upset.
Chen Yumo, as if it were second nature, kissed Wen Yusheng gently on the forehead.
“Don’t be angry. Your husband will handle it.”
Wen Yusheng was immediately flustered, feeling as if he had been fried to a crisp—charred on the outside and tender on the inside.
“What? Did Chen Yumo know what he was saying? Is he taking advantage of me?! Should I confront him? But what if he didn’t mean it like that? Will he think I’m overthinking things?”
Downstairs, Wen Yusheng held a glass of water, talking to himself and attempting to sort out his thoughts.
Upstairs, Chen Yumo rolled up the cuffs of his shirt, walked into the bathroom, and sat on the small bench.
“Niangao, that’s awesome! Dad has to thank you!”
Niangao happily handed another little yellow duck to Chen Yumo, willing to share his treasure with him.
Chen Yumo grabbed a clean basin and took out all the little yellow ducks, setting them aside.
Holding Niangao in one hand, he applied baby shower gel and gave him a thorough bath.
Then, he used baby shampoo to wash the little guy’s hair.
After the bath, he stood up slightly, took a goose-yellow bath towel from the rack, and wrapped little Niangai snugly.
Carrying Niangao out of the bathroom, he placed him on the sofa.
“Niangao, in one two three, don’t move around okay~”
