Brand New Life Online: Rise Of The Goddess Of Harvest

Chapter 1496: Reforging Morpheus

-----

Morpheus was a very unique existence, although he was a weapon, he as also a Dream and Nightmare Spirit. His birth was also pretty unique, I created him so we could go through the Dream and Nightmare Dungeon we ended landing on as we battled one of the Demon King of Death's Lords, a ghost girl that had possessed Monica and kidnaped her alongside several of her classmates.

It was a very dramatic event, and I was really scared all the time, I wanted nothing but to rescue my dear daughter, honestly. And it was also in that event that the truth about my powers were revealed to my daughter.

Morpheus also has an "info" when I checked using another Spirit Wood Tablet, the first one was still in Mark's hands, he was constantly checking every single detail of his cool new Knife after all.

And, well, this was how he looked like right now.

Unlike Irene or Ignias, Morpheus was first created as a Nightmare/Dream Spirit, which ended also becoming a weapon because I merged him with the powerful Dream Core of a mighty foe we battled in the dungeon, one of that ghost girl's strongest lackeys.

The core was physical after all, and when I merged them with a trio of skeletons that had died fighting the monsters at our side, Skellington, Skellrus, and Skullosus, Morpheus was born.

From what I recall, he's a "High Spirit Weapon" a pretty unique existence, although rather similar to the weapons I can temporarily create by fusing materials and spirits when fighting.

However, this time he became a permanent one, and didn't disappear, mostly because I used three souls and the bones of these skeletons for its creation.

The three skeletons' souls and personalities merged into Morpheus, who gained a new Ego. I remember that trio being rather chatty, but Morpheus became a much more serious being.

And the original personalities of the skeletons remain, as Morpheus is capable of summoning them through his abilities.

Also, he's decorated with three black colored skulls, each one from such skeletons.

It's a bit strange when you think about it… Morpheus creation was really quite convoluted.

He also has Ranks like a Tamed Familiar, instead of Rarity Ranks and Quality Ranks like Magic Weapons such as Irene.

Using Laplace's powerful core as the base of his creation, he ended becoming incredibly strong and my trump card against the boss of that dream/nightmare dungeon.

He can continue growing by absorbing Monster Cores I believe, or perhaps even eating Souls too, as he grows he gains new Abilities, but he had stopped growing and for a while now, I haven't really used him that much.

He's been sleeping for over a month now, until he woke up recently, and I want to integrate him more into my fighting style, especially because of what we're doing tomorrow.

He cannot absorb Potential Cubes though; I remember it was stated when he was created…

It mostly said he can absorb Magic Crystals from monsters and Hollows, and also Dreams and Nightmares.

But he could also get an upgrade like any weapon too, he's a weapon too, after all!

"Alright, what materials are you using for him, master?" Wondered Ignis.

"I haven't really gathered anything new since we battled Laplace and went into the Dream Dungeon, but I think I still got a lot of stuff we can use," I said. "Let's see…"

I opened my inventory and took out all the items I wanted to use, this included large, black colored crystals from the final boss of that dungeon, Dorothea, or well, the thing she summoned, an Embodiment of Nightmares, Ephiales.

Once it was destroyed alongside the rest of the dungeon, they left a lot of these black crystals which I managed to store in my inventory. Although I kept them there for a while, and now I think they can be used.

Aside from that, there are these toys, pieces of giant toy monsters I had stored which didn't disappear, and dozens of Magic Crystals themed after Dream and Nightmare Elements.

"Wow, toys, magic crystals of pink and black color, and these giant black crystals, interesting," nodded Ignis. "Anything else?"

"I think there's this as well," I said, taking out something else, it was a…

Well, it was a pink pillow.

"This pillow seems to be some sort of Dream Attribute item, I stole it, and it hasn't disappeared," I said. "I wonder if it can be used?"

"Yes it can be used, it contains large quantities of compatible elemental essence," nodded Ignis. "Alright, shall we begin, master?"

"Okay, I think I got a few things figured out this time," I nodded. "I know what we should do."

We mostly let Morpheus heating into the flames until his metal became hotter and changed color. After that, we placed him within the Alchemy Cauldron where the pillow and the toys were.

They slowly melted into pure elemental essence, which soaked Morpheus, his heated metal absorbed everything rapidly through Spiritual Synthesis.

Once done, the crystals were crushed into dust and merged with the Woodenite, which then made for a purple-colored ingot of a new Nightmare/Dream Element Metal, called Spiritual Dreamy Woodenite.

With it, by melting it and then letting it over a mold where the huge scythe was placed, the metal rapidly cooled down and then it covered the entire thing.

Using my hammer techniques, I began striking several key points, letting the metals meld together as they heated through my hits.

As this was being done, the leftover crystals were made into threads which were wrapped around the long handle of the scythe.

CLANK! CLANK! CLANK!

"Almost done!"

Once done, Morpheus took a sealing bath in the divine flames, and then cooled down in the Alchemy Cauldron, with the leftover dream essence being soaked into his metal.

And then, he was finally finished.
