Bloody Ball

Chapter 5: Chapter 4: Profitable Training

After Ming You defeated Jung Ho, his plans began to take clear shape. He understood that to achieve his goal, he needed to put Captain's team into debt, which would ultimately allow him to control them.

"Jung Ho," said Ming You, already dressed in jersey number 44, "we need to have a training session. But not just an ordinary training session. I want us to play streetball with stakes."

"With stakes?" Jung Ho frowned, surprised. His number used to be 4, but after the captaincy change, it became 10. "Are you serious? We need to focus on our game, not on money."

"This isn't just a game," Ming You insisted. "It's an opportunity to test our strengths and earn some cash. You said you wanted the team to get stronger, right?"

Jung Ho thought for a moment, his doubts beginning to dissipate.

"Alright, if you insist. But I don't want this to become a problem for us."

"A problem?" Ming You smirked. "We're just going to train, and if we win, we'll get money. It's extra motivation."

When Jung Ho left to gather the team, Ming You quickly headed over to the gangsters waiting for him on the corner.

"Hey, guys," he started, winking. "I have a plan. We're going to have a training session with stakes, and the Yoshido team will become debtors."

The gangsters burst into laughter at this.

"Are you out of your mind?" one of them, Tek Jun, chuckled. "You're going to make your team debtors? That's outrageous!"

"Yes, but it's going to be interesting," Ming You replied, his eyes sparkling with gambling. "We'll set up a real game, and they'll get themselves into debt. I want them to feel like they're losing, and that will give me the chance to control them."

"Alright," said another gangster with a smirk. "We'll set it up. But you realize this is risky, right?"

"I'm ready to take the risk," Ming You said confidently. "The main thing is that they don't know this is part of my plan."

When the Yoshido team returned, Ming You was already waiting for them with a smile on his face.

"Guys," he began, "I made a deal with the guys, and we can start training right now. It's going to be something special."

"What do you mean?" asked a tall player with dyed white hair, wearing a black jersey with number 6. He looked at Ming You in confusion before asking.

"We're going to play against each other," he replied, winking. "With stakes. It'll help us get stronger and earn some money."

"Sounds good," agreed the not-so-tall blonde, Lu Shen, raising an eyebrow. His number was 9. "But what if we lose?"

"Don't worry," Ming You said confidently. "We'll train, and I'm sure you'll do well. It's just a way to test our strengths."

Haru Lin, who had number 6, and Hong Ren, with short black hair and average height wearing number 12, nodded, encouraged by the idea. The team agreed, and soon they found themselves on the court, ready for training. Ming You felt his plan starting to bear fruit.

"So," he said as they began to warm up, "remember that this is just training. We don't need to go all out."

The Yoshido team gathered on the court, ready for training.

"Alright, guys, let's start with dribbling," Jung Ho suggested, trying to lift the team's spirits. "We need to improve our technique so we don't lose the ball in critical moments."

Ming You stood aside, watching the team perform the drills. Lu Shen was the first to step forward.

"Watch how I can dribble!" he exclaimed, confidently handling the ball. But soon he lost control, and the ball slipped from his hands.

"Hey, Lu, focus!" shouted Hong Ren, laughing. "You're not at a show; you're in training!"

"I know, I'm just a little nervous," Lu replied, picking the ball up off the ground.

"Nervous? You're the most experienced!" encouraged Haru Lin, patting him on the back. "Come on, show us what you can do!"

Lu started dribbling again but fell again while trying to perform a trick.

"How embarrassing!" he exclaimed, laughing. "I can't focus!"

"It's all because of the stakes," Jung Ho noted. "We're fixated on winning and losing instead of training."

"But the stakes add adrenaline!" Hong Ren countered, grinning at his teammates. "Let's bet on the next training session. Whoever loses has to fulfill one wish!"

"I bet 10,000 won that Haru can't score more than three in a row!" Lu said, winking.

"Oh, that's a challenge!" Haru replied with a smile. "Let's do it. I'm ready!"

"And I bet 20,000 won that he'll miss!" added Hong Ren, laughing.

The bets on silly wishes gradually turned into cash amounts, and the tension mounted. Ming You, watching their excitement, realized he could use this to his advantage.

"Okay, let's do it this way," he proposed. "If any of you can make three free throws in a row, you'll win some decent money. But if not, each of you will have to do extra drills."

"That's not fair!" Lu exclaimed. "We're already training hard!"

"This is your chance to show what you're capable of," Ming You replied. "And it'll add a little excitement!"

The team exchanged glances, and excitement filled the air once again.

"Alright, I'm ready!" said Hong Ren. "I'll make three in a row!"

"I bet 50,000 won that you can't!" Lu shouted, laughing. "Come on, I'm betting on you!"

"And I bet 100,000 won that he'll miss!" added Haru Lin, smiling.

Hong Ren took the ball and confidently approached the line. He threw and made it.

"One!" he shouted, raising his fist in the air.

"That's not all!" Lu reminded him. "Come on, show us what you can do!"

Hong Ren threw again and scored again.

"Two!" he shouted, laughing. "I'm on my way to victory!"

"You can do this!" Ming You encouraged him. "Confidence is the key to winning!"

Filled with confidence, Hong Ren took his third shot. The ball flew past the hoop.

"Damn!" he exclaimed, lowering his hands. "I can't believe this!"

"I told you!" Lu shouted, laughing. "You're just out of shape!"

"That was close!" Haru cheered him on. "Don't worry, you'll get it next time!"

Meanwhile, nearby, a group of gangsters, watching the training, recorded all the team's bets. They exchanged glances, smirking.

"Did you hear? They're betting 20,000 won!" one of the gangsters said. "Let's place our bets."

"I bet 30,000 won that number 6 can't score next time!" another added.

Ming You, observing their reactions, realized that excitement and betting were becoming an important part of their interactions. He decided he could use this dynamic to boost the team's morale.

"Alright, guys," he said. "Let's make another bet. If anyone can make five free throws in a row, I'll organize a fun night for you with all the perks. But if not, everyone has to do 50 push-ups."

"Now that's more interesting!" Hong Ren exclaimed. "I'm ready!"

"I bet 50,000 won that no one can do it!" Lu added, smirking at the others.

"You're just jealous!" Haru replied. "I'll do it!"

Ming You saw how excitement filled the team, and he understood this was a great way to lift their spirits and unity. But he also knew that his manipulations were leading the team into debt, fully aware of his actions.

"So," he said as the team gathered around him, "remember that each of you who can't meet the conditions will owe me. But for now, it's just a game, and we're all here to have fun."

The players exchanged glances, unaware of the consequences of their actions.

"We'll do our best, Ming You," Lu Shen said, clenching his fists determinedly. "Next time we won't let you down!"

Ming You smirked, watching their excitement. He understood that by fueling disputes and pitting them against each other, he was increasing their debts without revealing his true intentions.

Meanwhile, nearby, the group of gangsters continued to watch the training and record all the team's bets. They exchanged glances, smirking at Ming You's audacity.

"Did you hear? Their debts are already around 500,000 won!" one of the gangsters said. "This guy is really going to make them debtors."

"Yeah, and it's going to be fun," another added, laughing. "Let's place our bets on how long they can hold out!"

Ming You, observing their reactions, knew that excitement and betting were becoming an essential part of their interactions. He realized he had the opportunity to use this dynamic to achieve his goal—to make the Yoshido team dependent on him, leaving them unaware of the true consequences.
