Chapter 12: BUTZ: Chapter 12
With unwavering resolve, Kyōraku Callum unleashed his full spiritual pressure upon the path of time!
A tremendous wave of spiritual pressure, emanating from him, instantly spread outwards, shattering and collapsing countless clocks!
The surging spiritual pressure, like a raging tide, assaulted the space.
Kyōraku Callum's expression remained resolute; his gaze fixed ahead, awaiting the transformation of the world.
Endless void reappeared before him. The fragments of clocks dissolved into the darkness, leaving no trace.
The darkness ahead rippled like a lake disturbed by a sudden gust of wind. A throne emerged from the void, surrounded by countless clocks in twisted, contorted shapes.
Disappointment struck Kyōraku Callum. The throne was empty.
"So, the question is,"
He looked around, his expression growing serious.
"Where is my Zanpakutō?"
He strongly suspected he was in a false Zanpakutō space—a fabricated clock world, a fragile path through time.
His Captain-level spiritual pressure had shattered the illusion. What remained was only endless darkness, void, and an empty throne.
"The answer must be on that throne."
Kyōraku Callum tried to approach the throne. As he stepped into the void, the path of time reappeared beneath his feet, but it was no longer a flat path.
Countless clocks formed a towering staircase.
To Kyōraku Callum's surprise, the throne ascended into the unreachable heights above.
"What the—?"
"Am I supposed to climb this?"
He attempted to ascend the steps. The moment his foot touched the first step, a crushing pressure bore down upon him!
Kyōraku Callum gritted his teeth, countering with his spiritual pressure to lessen the burden. It felt like a mountain pressing down; even the slightest movement was incredibly difficult.
Despite his unwavering determination, he managed to reach the first step. But as he attempted to reach the second, an even more terrifying pressure descended!
His consciousness blurred, and he was instantly ejected from the Zanpakutō space.
"Ha… ha…"
Kyōraku Callum gasped for breath, his body drenched in sweat. The intense pressure had been an unimaginable burden.
But it wasn't without reward. He managed to extend a finger, a strange energy swirling around it.
"The power of time,"
A subtle smile touched his lips, his eyes shining with newfound understanding.
Experimenting with the time power, Kyōraku Callum discovered he could slightly accelerate his own time and influence inanimate objects.
He couldn't yet affect Shinigami or Hollows, or perhaps the effect was too subtle to detect. Nevertheless, he was pleased with his progress.
Based on the theory of relativity from his past life, accelerating his own time was effectively slowing down his opponent's time.
In high-level battles, even minor advantages could be decisive. And this was only his second time in the Zanpakutō space.
Kyōraku Callum believed that with each step he climbed, his control over the time power would increase, eventually leading him to discover his Zanpakutō's true name and achieve Shikai (initial release).
After a brief rest, Kyōraku Callum prepared to re-enter sword meditation for a second session.
However, as he was about to enter the meditative state, his consciousness grew heavy, as if burdened by a great weight.
An unfamiliar sound echoed in his mind, and he found he couldn't enter sword meditation.
He gasped for breath, realizing he could only perform sword meditation once a day, possibly due to the time power.
"Fine, I'll take a break from sword meditation for now."
"Time to further research the time power."
His thoughts returned to his newfound ability.
He used the futon as a test subject, experimenting with different amounts of spiritual pressure release to see if it influenced the time power, and determining the full extent of its power.
After half an hour, Kyōraku Callum stopped his experiments. He stroked his chin, staring at the futon, muttering to himself,
"Maximum time acceleration is 1x, affecting inanimate objects or myself. Continuous use drains spiritual pressure."
"At full power, I can barely stop time within a one-meter radius centered on myself."
"Unfortunately, it only lasts for a millisecond."
He also had other hypotheses. The stronger the opponent within his time-manipulation range, the less effective it might be.
"A long road ahead,"
He sighed, aware of his significant weaknesses.
As if sensing his dissatisfaction, a new check-in task promptly appeared.
[New check-in task released: Check in during Kidō class and master ten Kidō spells.]
