Chapter 27: CHAPTER 27:Obtain the Divine Transformation Body!
"Divine transformation body?" Urahara Kisuke echoed with a faint crease in his brow. "What could you possibly need that thing for? With your talent, you shouldn't require something so unstable."
Although there was curiosity in his voice at how Shiraha even knew of its existence, his expression betrayed something deeper—skepticism. According to the information he'd gathered, Shiraha's spiritual aptitude was exceptional, the kind of natural talent that didn't need shortcuts. His soul was already refined enough to attain Bankai without external aid.
Yes, the Divine Transformation Body was a tool that could rapidly force a Shinigami to reach Bankai by subjecting their soul to extreme compression and confrontation with their Zanpakutō—but the price was steep. If the wielder failed to dominate their Zanpakutō spirit within three days, they would lose all spiritual power, becoming no more than a hollow husk.
Urahara himself had been the only one to use it, and he had never replicated the procedure for another.
"It will be of great use to me," Shiraha replied, his tone unwavering, concealing none of the weight behind his words. For Shiraha, this wasn't about Bankai—it was about unlocking the second system template, a requirement tied directly to absorbing the Divine Transformation Body.
"So," Urahara asked, folding his arms with a more measured gaze, "you called this a transaction. What exactly are you offering in return?"
"You're aware of Aizen's Zanpakutō, aren't you?" Shiraha said calmly, knowing full well what kind of shock was about to ripple through the room.
That was the trade he came prepared for: the truth of Aizen Sōsuke's Kyōka Suigetsu—something Urahara Kisuke, with all his brilliance, had never fully uncovered.
"Of course," Urahara said, nodding slowly, "Kyōka Suigetsu—an elemental-type Zanpakutō, water-based. Its ability generates illusions through mist and refracted light, disorienting enemies so they strike one another in confusion. Are you suggesting there's more to it?"
Yoruichi, lounging nearby and licking her paw, raised her golden eyes, intrigued by Shiraha's unspoken implication.
"Aizen's Zanpakutō isn't water-type," Shiraha said, shaking his head. "Kyōka Suigetsu is the strongest illusion-type Zanpakutō in Soul Society. Its true ability is Kanzen Saimin—Complete Hypnosis. It manipulates all five senses of its victims, altering perception of form, movement, texture, voice, even spiritual pressure, transforming objects and people entirely in the minds of its targets."
The air chilled as the implications sank in.
"What did you say?" Urahara's eyes narrowed, his pupils contracting sharply.
"It makes sense," Yoruichi murmured, recalling with a grim frown the moment Aizen first demonstrated his Zanpakutō in front of the Gotei 13. "That's why he showed his Shikai to the entire Thirteen Court Guard Squads... that way, he ensured everyone would fall under his hypnosis permanently."
"Once Kyōka Suigetsu's Shikai has been seen, you fall under its effect forever," Shiraha continued. "There are only three ways to resist. First: never witness the Shikai being activated. Second: touch the blade before the hypnosis is initiated. And third..."
He paused, pointing calmly at his own eyes.
"Be blind. Someone like me, who cannot see, remains immune to its effects."
"I see…" Urahara muttered, falling into a thoughtful silence as he rubbed his chin, his brows furrowed in deep contemplation.
"It still doesn't explain how you know all this," he said at last, his voice cautious. "Aizen would never reveal the truth of Kyōka Suigetsu, not even under duress. He's too careful, too calculating."
Shiraha simply smiled. "It's my ability. I'm sorry, but I can't explain any more than that."
Of course, he wasn't about to admit that he knew all of this from the canon storyline of the original world. That kind of truth would only invite suspicion or worse.
"Well… thank you, Shiraha," Urahara finally said after a long pause, his voice sincere. "That information helps me more than you know."
Though he couldn't be certain of Shiraha's origins or methods, the sheer specificity of the information—paired with Shiraha's calm conviction—told him this wasn't a fabrication. There was no incentive to lie, especially not with a lie so easily refutable by anyone close to Aizen.
"So then," Shiraha asked, bringing the matter back to the purpose of his visit, "does the information I gave suffice as compensation for the Divine Transformation Body?"
Urahara didn't answer immediately, but after a brief moment of reflection, he gave a single nod and stood up without a word, vanishing into the adjacent chamber.
A few minutes later, he returned with a white puppet-shaped object in his arms. He placed it gently in front of Shiraha, the spiritual density of the construct unmistakable.
"This is it—the Divine Transformation Body. You got what you wanted. I won't ask what you plan to do with it," Urahara said, voice calm but laced with gravity. "But I will say this—don't use it for Bankai training. This device has serious side effects."
"Don't worry, Mr. Urahara," Shiraha replied with a small smile, waving dismissively. "As I said earlier, I'm not using it to reach Bankai. I don't even have a Zanpakutō yet."
At that, Urahara blinked but chose not to ask further.
"Well then, since our deal is done, I'll take my leave," Shiraha said, standing and lifting the white puppet under his arm. With the Divine Transformation Body secured, there was no reason for him to linger.
"I'll be seeing you, Miss Yoruichi," he added with a grin, kneeling down to gently ruffle the fur atop her head before giving it a playful flick with his finger.
Caught off guard by the gesture, Yoruichi blinked—then, before she could react, Shiraha vanished in a burst of Shunpo.
"Kuchiki Shiraha!! Don't let me see you again!" Yoruichi shouted after him, realizing only a moment later that she'd been "played," her voice echoing with equal parts outrage and reluctant amusement.
As the laughter died down, Urahara's face turned serious again.
"Yoruichi… do you think what Shiraha said about Kyōka Suigetsu is true?" he asked, gaze darkened by the implications.
"I don't think he lied," she said simply, narrowing her eyes. "But even if it is true, we can't confirm anything yet—unless you test Aizen yourself."
"If Kyōka Suigetsu really does function that way…" Urahara murmured, shoulders tensing as his gaze drifted to the wall, "then we've got a much bigger problem on our hands."
After leaving the Urahara Shop, Shiraha continued using Shunpo dozens of times, vanishing and reappearing across rooftops and trees until he was confident he'd shaken off any possibility of being tracked. The Divine Transformation Body pulsed faintly in his grasp.
"This should be far enough," he muttered once he finally halted, now over 100,000 meters from his last location.
Activating Observation Haki, Shiraha scanned the vast perimeter around him and, sensing no presence nearby, finally exhaled in relief.
"Absorb."
The moment the word left his lips, the white puppet in his arms dissolved into streams of glowing reishi, each one drawn into his body like threads weaving into his very soul.
System Notification: Second Template Unlock Conditions—Fujitora Template Progress 100% (Incomplete); Divine Transformation Body Acquired (Condition Satisfied).
A chime echoed inside Shiraha's mind.
"All that's left now is to push the Fujitora template to 100%," he thought with a grin, feeling the transformation body fusing with his core, bringing him one crucial step closer to unlocking the next power stage. With his current progress sitting at 70%, a few more successful check-ins would bridge the remaining gap.
"It's time to get back to the soul burial exercises," Shiraha muttered to himself.
And with that, his figure flickered once again as he vanished from the spot, reentering the world not as a mere student—but one rapidly approaching a power that Soul Society was nowhere near prepared for.
