"Urahara Kisuke..."
Moyu's eyes narrowed thoughtfully at the name.
"That guy's still as slippery as ever..."
He trailed off, shaking his head without elaborating. Urahara Kisuke—one of the five special war powers acknowledged even by the Royal Guard—was practically a monk in robes and clogs. And time would prove just how right that description was.
"Well now, no need to get too gloomy."
The sudden change in voice sent a chill down Moyu's spine.
A familiar swirl of smoke followed, and instinctively, Moyu's gaze snapped toward Shihouin Yoruichi—only to find her form shifting.
His eyelid twitched.
"Stupid cat."
"Why can't you just be a normal cat?!"
His cheek stung before he even registered the slap. Hot to the touch, flushed with embarrassment, it reminded him that Yoruichi's human form was far more dangerous than the feline one.
"Ara~ is Mr. Moyu getting shy?" Yoruichi leaned forward, her tone rich with trouble. "Is little brother going to be devoured by big sister today?"
Sensing imminent peril, Moyu exhaled sharply, threw a spare shirt at her face, and barked:
"Enough. Put something on!"
"How stingy."
Yoruichi smirked, catching the shirt midair. She pulled it on casually, covering her glowing skin without a hint of modesty.
"It's not like you haven't seen it before, little pervert. Don't pretend to be some chivalrous gentleman now."
Moyu slumped back on the couch, resigned.
He never knew how to handle this demoness.
As she got dressed, he studied her quietly. That long dark-purple hair, tied into a ponytail, flowed neatly down her back. Wearing his spare shirt, her figure looked almost petite, but it couldn't hide the dangerous edge radiating from every movement. Golden eyes gleamed with mischief, and her dark skin practically hummed with vitality.
Everything about her was elegance wrapped in chaos.
"Let's move."
Fully clothed, Yoruichi straightened up, voice serious again. "Urahara wants some updates about Soul Society. First-hand."
Moyu raised an eyebrow, intrigued.
"Don't you already have an intel network embedded in Seireitei?"
Yoruichi shot him a sideways glance.
"Do you think my former subordinates in the Onmitsukidō haven't caught wind of my presence? Especially that stickler Sui-Feng?"
"Even if I get info through the old channels, it's just surface-level stuff now. Not enough."
She paused, then added, "Kūkaku's also passed along some things."
The mention of that name stirred Moyu's memory.
Shiba Kūkaku—fireworks expert of the Shiba Clan, keeper of the Flower Crane Cannon, and the one responsible for launching people to the Royal Realm. Though her family's prestige had declined after Isshin's disappearance, they still held the status of former nobility. In terms of influence, she was roughly equal to Moyu—though her lifestyle in Rukongai made their paths rarely cross.
Still, she was someone worth paying attention to.
"Understood," Moyu nodded. "Let's get going then."
The two of them exited the warehouse together. Their sudden appearance caught the attention of Mikami Saiki, still standing guard out front.
He blinked at them—one tall, one shorter, walking side by side—and froze.
His scarred, beefy face twisted into a confused grimace.
"I'll be out for a while, Saiki," Moyu said. "If anything comes up, just ping me on the communicator."
Without waiting for a response, he and Yoruichi disappeared into the distance, leaving Saiki frozen behind them.
The big man's lip twitched.
"Wha… what the hell was that?"
"Was that the young master of the Kuchiki clan transforming into a human?!"
"No... wait, was he always that strong?!"
Moyu, of course, had no idea his subordinate had spun such strange thoughts. Nor that the man seemed more confused about his captain's species than his strength.
As they raced toward the Urahara Shop, two shadows flickered between rooftops under the night sky.
Yoruichi had initially held doubts about Moyu's strength—but now, watching him keep pace beside her in midair without missing a step, those doubts vanished.
The Flash Goddess was no idle title. Her Shunpo technique was second to none, even among captains. Yet Moyu matched her footfall for footfall, without strain.
As she watched, the corners of her lips twitched upward.
Meanwhile, Moyu was secretly elated.
A soft ding echoed in his mind—the system prompt ringing in his ears.
[Your Shunpo comprehension has greatly increased through observing Shihouin Yoruichi's movement.]
[You have grasped the profound rhythm of Flash Step. Speed increased by 150%.]
[You have awakened advanced Shunpo techniques.]
He couldn't help but smirk to himself.
Finally.
He had patched up his biggest weakness. The flaw that had always set him behind others—his slow growth in mobility—was finally gone.
