Bizarre Honkai, a Wife-Chasing Crematorium

Chapter 88: Second Death, Surpassing S-Rank Valkyries

Li Mo crushed Number One's skull, the force of his grip far exceeding any human record. He demonstrated the true extent of his strength to the horrified Number Two.

"You're dead!" Number Two screamed, firing his rifle wildly.

Li Mo used Number One's body as a shield, closing the distance in a flash. He snapped Number Two's neck, a swift, brutal end.

His fighting style was simple, efficient, devoid of flashy techniques. He avoided using Bizarre powers unless absolutely necessary. The contamination was a double-edged sword.

He looted the bodies, then assessed his own condition.

"I'm stronger than before. Is it the left hand?" He punched the ground. His right fist created a small crater. His left fist shook the earth.

"Definitely stronger, but that's not the only change." He closed his eyes, sensing the flow of Bizarre energy within him, a cold current flowing through his veins, converging in his heart, then spreading throughout his body.

"The cabin in Nagazora… the strongest Bizarre aura. That's where I need to go."

He ran towards the highway, intending to steal a car. Japan wasn't that big.

A car sped towards him, the driver asleep at the wheel. But as it approached, the driver's eyes snapped open.

Li Mo punched the ground with his left hand, creating a massive crater, the shockwave jolting the driver awake. He slammed on the brakes, then stuck his head out to investigate—only to be pulled from the car by Li Mo, who sped off, leaving the bewildered driver behind.

"Too easy." He felt a prickle of unease.

As he neared Nagazora, the traffic thickened. Every intersection was a red light. Every green light brought pedestrians, mostly elderly or children, strolling into his path.

And then, he saw them. A roadblock. Armed personnel.

"I'm not stopping."

He floored the gas pedal, smashing through the barricade, the car's engine screaming.

"This is 003! Suspect sighted! Requesting backup! Requesting backup!"

"All units, engage! Lethal force authorized!"

Li Mo ignored the sirens, the flashing lights. He understood now.

"They're trying to stop me from reaching Nagazora, the source of the Bizarre."

"Every step towards Nagazora has brought more resistance."

"How much worse will it get?"

He drove recklessly, ignoring traffic laws. He'd deal with whatever came his way.

The next ten minutes were eerily quiet. Too quiet.

He entered a tunnel, the car a blur of light in the darkness.

1:05 AM. The tunnel was empty, silent. No other cars. A stark contrast to the earlier congestion.

He was nearing Nagazora. The resistance should be intensifying. Why the sudden calm?

He gripped the steering wheel, his senses on high alert.

As he exited the tunnel, blue lights flickered in the sky.

"Shit!" He jumped from the car, his body still moving at high speed, slamming into the ground.

The blue lights converged, forming drones, guns, and other weaponry, unleashing a barrage of fire that obliterated the car. The explosion engulfed him.

A man descended from the sky, holding the Core of Reason, his gaze fixed on the charred remains.

Li Mo lay on the ground, paralyzed, unable to move, his left hand unresponsive. His consciousness faded, his vision blurring.

As his second life slipped away, he saw the man clearly.

The second Herrscher of Reason: Welt Yang.

The Herrschers are involved…

He closed his eyes, his mind exhausted.

Welt scoffed. "Another villain brought to justice. The world won't tolerate your violence." He'd received a request from Ryoma, detailing Li Mo's crimes, the murder of his bodyguards. Even the usually neutral Einstein had agreed: this man was a threat.

He'd come prepared, bringing the Star of Eden just in case.

As expected, the human was no match for his power. Probably didn't even know how he died.

He noticed Li Mo's left hand, pristine and unblemished, untouched by the explosion. Strange. It hadn't looked like that before. He dismissed it as a coincidence. A dead man posed no threat.

"He was surprisingly alert, jumping from the car at the last second…" It had been a bold move. Perhaps he'd sensed something. But it didn't matter. He was just a human.

Against a Herrscher, there was only one outcome.

1:07 AM. Li Mo died.

He opened his eyes again, his vision blurry, his senses dulled. He couldn't hear his heartbeat. Even the near-death experience felt… muted.

"1:05 AM. Two minutes until the tunnel exit. Welt Yang."

"He's here to kill me."

"Kill him. Take the Star of Eden and the Core of Reason." The decision was instant, cold, ruthless.

This world was twisted, sending its strongest weapons to stop him.

1:06 AM. The tunnel exit was in sight. He assessed his condition.

Two deaths usually brought him to S-rank Valkyrie level. Not enough to defeat a serious Herrscher. He couldn't even get close without armor.

Unless he used his Bizarre powers… A last resort.

But now, empowered by the Bizarre heart and his left hand, he was confident. He surpassed even the strongest S-rank Valkyries in Schicksal's history. Strength, speed, regeneration… as long as his head or heart remained intact, he could recover from almost any injury.

And he felt… another reset approaching. A fourth one. The Bizarre contamination seemed… diluted.

"A fourth reset? I'm not sure… but it feels possible… almost."

One death: beyond human limits.

Two deaths: beyond S-rank.

Three deaths: near-Herrscher level.

A fourth death? He couldn't imagine. Perhaps a return to ordinary human status. Or perhaps… something beyond even the Herrschers. A power that would surely consume him, turning him into the very thing he fought against.

"I'll worry about that later."

He floored the gas pedal. No more hiding. No more tricks.

This time, he'd face Welt head-on.

1:07 AM.

The car exited the tunnel, instantly engulfed in a barrage of missiles and gunfire.

Welt descended, smirking. "Another villain brought to justice."

As he approached the wreckage, a hand shot out from the smoke, grabbing his throat.

Crack!

Welt's head flew through the air, his body collapsing.

Li Mo emerged from the smoke, his clothes tattered, his body mangled, bones exposed. A normal human would be dead. But he wasn't normal. He only needed to protect his Bizarre heart. The flames healed as quickly as they burned.

Welt hadn't been careless. No one would expect a human to survive that explosion, let alone counterattack. And Li Mo was far stronger than he appeared.

"Star of Eden, Core of Reason. I can make them mine." He touched the artifacts, a wave of corrupting energy flowing into them. They had no masters, no resistance.

"Too bad I can't take them with me." He wouldn't risk bringing contaminated artifacts back to his world. Here, they were merely tools, stepping stones to the truth.

With the Herrscher of Reason's power, he could reach Nagazora in an hour.
