Biochemical Martial Arts: Supreme Heavenly Venerate

Chapter 447: Full Strength (Third Update, Please Subscribe)

When Linghu Mingde left the Lin Family's secret base with a bunch of herbal tea given to him by Lin Rui, he sensed numerous familiar auras of Spirit Mechanism lurking around.

Those were all his masters, who had found Lin Rui's villa long ago, but, considering the defensive forces inside and the friendship between Fang Ranran and Lin Rui, they had not rashly made a move.

It was probably because they feared recklessly attacking might compromise his safety.

When Linghu Mingde returned to his own estate, he found it a tension-filled warzone, with the entire security department mobilized and fully armed.

Linghu Mingde felt both reassured and helpless as he dealt with the group of family members crowding around him, "Alright! Disperse, all of you. Haven't I always been careful with my actions? Do I need you to fuss over me?

I am in excellent health now, better than ever. I merely found Lin Rui to be a kindred spirit and was invited to his house for a visit, to chat and have tea. Why would that make you all so anxious?"

He then glared angrily at Linghu Tianchou and scolded loudly, "Didn't I tell you to keep watch outside? Who allowed you into my study? Do you take my words as empty talk? And you even called in so many people; what are you trying to do? Demolish someone else's home and leave me with no face?"

Linghu Tianchou looked helpless too, "How could I not come in when you've been shut in there for two hours without a sound and ignoring the guests outside?

Aren't you aware of your own health condition? I was worried that something might have happened to you.

And with the Linghu Family and the Jinhao Group on the brink of full-scale war, how can I not be anxious?

Moreover, with so many guests waiting outside, it's difficult for me as well."

On the side, Fang Ranran wore an awkward expression, as it was she who had actually instigated Linghu Tianchou's unauthorized entry into the study.

This was both out of concern for Linghu Mingde's health and for Lin Rui.

She knew that Linghu Mingde had a slight problem with his mental cognition.

Though he normally suppressed it well and seemed no different from an ordinary person, occasionally, he would have a small outburst, like an old man throwing a child's tantrum.

The problem was, this old man's Martial Arts skills were too powerful.

If he couldn't control his emotions, he might accidentally crush Lin Rui's head in his hand.

As it turned out, when she opened the study door, both men inside had vanished, and when she messaged Lin Rui, he didn't reply.

"Today, I celebrate my birthday, and it coincides with a joyous occasion, so I'll let this go. But if there's a next time, household discipline awaits!"

Linghu Mingde knew that today's incident wasn't Linghu Tianchou's fault; it was his own lack of preparation and his arrogance in underestimating Lin Rui's anesthetic.

And since his son was worried about him, he was too happy to truly get angry.

However, it had become a habit to scold his son whenever he saw him.

Linghu Mingde put on a show of scolding for a while before calling Fang Ranran into his room alone.

After sitting down, he didn't speak right away. Instead, he habitually brewed himself a pot of tea, while Fang Ranran sat opposite him, looking at Linghu Mingde with a puzzled and suspicious gaze.

Whether it was an illusion or not, she noticed that Linghu Mingde's complexion had improved, looking rosier and not as ashen as before.

However, Fang Ranran couldn't help but feel alarmed instead of glad, thinking, could it be that her father-in-law's condition was nearing the end?

"Ptui! What kind of tea is this? Even dogs wouldn't drink it."

Linghu Mingde spat out the tea in his mouth before realizing it was his own concoction.

He thought about his family who had been drinking this tea with him recently, even Lin Rui had just had a cup with him, and felt apologetic for the trouble he had caused them.

Linghu Mingde's expression shifted as he then brewed a pot using the herbal tea Lin Rui had given him.

After he sipped the freshly steeped tea, his spirits lifted, delighting in the unique, refreshingly light flavor that moistened his soul like a spring, and the delicate taste that gently nourished every taste bud like a fine rain, bringing joy to his spirit and body.

Linghu Mingde leaned back, comfortably and contentedly settling into his chair.

While he enjoyed this tranquil moment, he also pondered Lin Rui's medical advice.

He had to drink this herbal tea every day, but the prescription needed to be adjusted monthly.

Surgery had to continue as well, approximately once every three months.

Lin Rui had said his mental cognition was almost beyond recovery, and it needed to be corrected step by step.

This process was like how humans used to straighten their teeth back in the day, slowly maneuvering them into place—straighten, adjust, straighten again, and keep adjusting.

It would take about five to six surgeries to fully recover.

Linghu Mingde had inquired thoroughly, and according to Lin Rui, 'fully recover' meant reverting to the original state prior to using the armament, not just being in a similar condition as other normal Martial Cultivators.

This meant that his spirit could deeply integrate with the armament once again, allowing his physical form to re-enter the state of Spirit and Body Integration.

Linghu Mingde dared not imagine what that would be like.

Perhaps he could try to break through to the Ninth Realm once more?

Linghu Mingde's overall combat rating had reached that of a Super Monarch of Eight Realms, and in combat, he was no less formidable than those Ninth Realm Super Emperors.

Yet, having implanted Armaments rated at the Super Monarch level during the Eight Realms stage, he actually couldn't advance any further, a reluctant move born out of necessity.

If conditions permitted, he naturally wished to ascend to the Ninth Realm, preferring to remove several Armaments and reduce his Bloodline rating to that of a Super Emperor just to make the ascent.

Although Ninth Realm Super Emperors weren't much stronger than Super Monarchs of Eight Realms in terms of combat, they were capable of living several hundred years longer.

Moreover, given his talent for spiritual power, he could continue its enhancement and might one day reach the Emperor Rank of the Ninth Realm.

"Grandpa?" Fang Ranran waved her hand suspiciously in front of Linghu Mingde's eyes, "What are you thinking about? You're drooling."

Linghu Mingde touched the corner of his mouth subconsciously and found a spot of tea.

With a light grunt, he coldly placed the teacup on the desk, and began to sit up straight solemnly, "Ranran, what is your current relationship with Lin Rui? Senior and junior? Siblings? Or boyfriend and girlfriend? What are your personal aspirations for the future?"

Fang Ranran had originally taken Linghu Mingde's solemn expression seriously, anticipating a discussion of important matters.

Yet once Linghu Mingde spoke, Fang Ranran felt it wasn't serious, her face blushing as she rebuked, "Boyfriend and girlfriend? What aspirations for the future? Grandpa, what are you talking about? My relationship with him is strictly that of a senior and junior."

Linghu Mingde gazed at her intently, thinking that although the girl claimed they were just senior and junior, she likely had other ideas in mind.

"I understand Lin Rui, indeed, he's a good kid, far better than your father. You know I'm good at judging people—if only your mother had listened to me, left some measures in place, you wouldn't have ended up in this situation.

Lin Rui is currently devoted to his career and Martial Arts, without any concern for personal affairs, and not willing to waste time on romantic entanglements. However, it's said that 'a girl chasing a boy is separated by merely a layer of gauze,' if you take the initiative, he will surely go along with the flow."

Fang Ranran felt as if there were needles on her chair, standing up in embarrassment, "If you continue to spout this nonsense, Grandpa, I am leaving!"

Linghu Mingde sighed slightly, his expression helpless, "Alright, I won't say it. But I must warn you, there are many women setting their sights on him now; don't regret it if you're too late to act."

Linghu Mingde thought of Lin Rui's mentor, surmising that his granddaughter's competition was no ordinary strength—what senior and junior could compare to the bond of a mentor and disciple?!

He then picked up the teacup again, leaning back in his chair with an unconstrained expression.

Since the previous topic was serious, it had to be discussed seriously, but what followed was relatively inconsequential and didn't require as much earnestness.

"I called you here for three reasons," he continued, "First, regarding your Rui-Fang Biological Prosthetics Research Institute, Lin Rui has established two research projects there that I value highly. You must involve yourself deeply in the future, commit fully to providing funding, gathering talent, and guarding both projects. If necessary, you may even call upon the resources of the Sky Fox Group's security."

"Lin Rui has promised to prioritize the development of the main and secondary Armaments I use, but I must provide additional funding. I can provide the money, but I hope you can keep a close eye on it for me. I wish to have my new-type Armaments replaced within two years."

Linghu Mingde remembered the documents and videos that Lin Rui had shown him, his eyes once again filled with ripples.

If he were to implant new Armaments, to start anew the process of Spirit and Body Integration, he certainly hoped to incorporate this groundbreaking type of Armament—thoroughly integrating it into his own body.

Linghu Mingde glanced again at Fang Ranran, whose gaze was now intently focused, seemingly checking information about the Rui-Fang Biological Prosthetics Research Institute. He mused how fortunate the girl was to be brought into the fold by Lin Rui, to have a hand in this epoch-making technology.

In the future, just this Armament technology and related patents alone could make Ranran a super-rich.

The kid was also kind-hearted; had it been Fang Xianzheng's temperament, he would probably have sought every means to push Ranran out of the picture.

Linghu Mingde shook his head, "The second matter, I need you to fully devote yourself in the upcoming election, do your utmost to expand the scale of the 'Guang Ming Front,' and set a goal for you—out of fourteen Base Cities, secure at least 8 Congressional seats. Can you do it? Rest assured, after our battle with Jinhao Group ends, I, too, will do my utmost to provide you with political resources and financial support."

Fang Ranran looked up at Linghu Mingde in astonishment, "I should be fine here, even without your support, we should be able to secure three Congressional seats. But didn't you say before, to eat as much as your bowl can hold? My mentor's influence could at most ensure five Congressional seats for us; otherwise, it would be more bane than boon, attracting disaster."

Her mentor was an Emperor Rank of Eight Realms, soon to reach the Super Monarch level, Linghu Mingde's greatest support, as well as the Linghu Family's future reliance.

However, this individual, hailing from Sky Extreme Star, had an identity that couldn't bear scrutiny.

Thus, only with her becoming a Congressman, combining her mentor's influence, could they protect the Linghu Family's assets within the Earth Federation.

"That was before," Linghu Mingde turned and looked out into the night, "Times and circumstances change, and so naturally do our strategies."

Previously, he had accepted his inevitable death, believing that if Fang Ranran took on too much in the political arena, she would certainly become the target of every arrow, and without sufficient power to quell it, it would indeed be more bane than boon.

But the current situation was different from before; with these two large bowls in hand, he naturally wanted to scrape up more rice.

Even now, he had enough confidence to live another 50 years, to support Ranran so she could become a towering pillar.

"One last thing," Mingde's lips curled into a cold smile, "Your father has returned to Ninth Base City, and he must currently be at the Sky Blue Group headquarters. You should visit him if you have time."

Fang Ranran was first taken aback and then a flash of anger shone in her eyes.

Fang Xianzheng's covert return to Ninth Base City at this point was self-explanatory in its purpose.

"There's no need for that."

Linghu Mingde scoffed, "He wouldn't care about your thoughts. If you want your father to truly regard you, then try to secure as many Congressional seats as possible in Ninth Base City. His People's Party is confident in this election, Fang Xianzheng even believes they will achieve a resounding victory. However, I reckon that your Guang Ming Front might just surprise him."
