Chapter 7: "He Who Returned… Was No Longer the Same"
The return was sudden.
No portal.No magic.No warning.
I woke up in my old bed.Same room. Same pillow. Same cracked wall. But I… was not the same person.
I got up slowly. The first thing I noticed was the stillness. The familiar noise of the street outside didn't bother me—it felt… distant, as if my body no longer belonged here.
I looked at my hands. They weren't how I remembered them.
They were firmer, the veins prominent, as if every cell in me had been reforged.I stood before the mirror…
And stared.
My face was sharper. My vision—perfect.I no longer needed the glasses I had worn for years. My eyes still held the same brown hue… but now shimmered with something new:certainty.
My posture was straight, grounded. No nervous ticks. No hesitation.
Then my mother appeared at the door. She looked at me in silence, her eyes wide.
— "Adam...?"
I looked at her.Didn't say a word.But she saw the difference.And didn't dare ask.
I found myself drawn to my grandmother's room.
The dust was still there, clinging to everything. But it didn't seem old or forgotten anymore. It felt… alive. Waiting.
I pulled out the old box from under her bed.The one I had seen before the funeral but didn't open.
This time, I did.
Inside… another notebook. Not like the one I carried in Nimura. This one was real. Tangible. Hers.
I flipped through the pages, her sharp handwriting dancing across the paper.
Then, I reached a yellowed page—one that looked written in ancient ink:
"Adam… if you're reading this, then the seal has weakened.Nimura was never born… it was made.Created by humans. They thought they could lock fear, pain, and rage in a separate world. But fear… was never meant to be caged."
My heart tightened.
Made?By humans?Why?
I kept reading:
"Nimura grows. It feeds on what we feel. The more pain, the more storms. The more silence, the stronger the shadows. The monsters there… are not creatures. They are echoes. Fragments of failures."
I dropped the notebook.
Lapobo, perched silently by the window, finally spoke:
— "That truth you read… it's only the beginning. If you know who created Nimura…You'll understand who must end it.And it's you, Adam.Even if you're not ready… the world won't wait."
I walked out onto the street.
People moved as always.Smiling, rushing, talking.
They had no idea the wind brushing their cheeks yesterday… carried the ash of something trying to break through.
But I knew.
And I couldn't un-know it.
💬 Motivational Quote:
"You don't come back from war as the same person…Sometimes, you come back as the warrior you were meant to be."
