Benevolent Demon

Chapter 34: Chapter 34: The Town Of Kurts

Blood soaking fists, fragments of bones and organs, terrified souls, the rain intensifies.

The forest slowly extinguishes as all one can hear are the sounds of sizzles and the heavy crackles of thunder.

The residents trembled in fear, not letting a single muscle in their bodies move, alas, the curiosity of a child couldn't hold it back anymore, forcefully moving away from his mother who was holding him.

While everyone was so deeply focused on not making a sound, the mother didn't notice her son just escaped from her grasp.

As the curious boy neared the figure, the boy breathed heavily, not even knowing why himself.

The little boy tugged at the stranger's jacket. As the stranger slowly tilts his head down, a thunderstrike reveals his figure, beady menacing glowing red pupils, long snow-white hair with horns sprouting out of the side of its forehead, razor-sharp claws, easily being able to slice through flesh like butter, strange hind legs.

The curious little boy was no longer curious but terrified for his life, his screening broke the long silence, alas, the residents woke up in shock and saw a little boy screaming in front of the monster and the child's mother looked down and without a doubt, her child was gone from her grasp.

"JACK!" She screamed as she dropped to the floor, grabbing onto the nearby people for help. She begged for someone to help and retrieve her son from the monster. But the residents hastily refused and all ran back within the safety of their homes.

Screams and cries covered the area, Sirus looked up and saw a middle-aged female, kneeling down on the mud screaming for help as she begged her fellow people to help but hastily refused her without a second thought as they cowardly ran away with their tails between their legs.

"Leaving a mother begging for help for its child and only finding out not a single soul would try and even retrieve her child. Tsk, how disgusting the human race is and how selfish"

Sirus looked down at the idiot child who ran away from her mother and facepalmed his face in disappointment. He picked up the child with ease and carried him as a parent would do in their arms and placed a finger on his lips and made a shushing sound.

"Shut up will you? Your shouting is hurting my sensitive ears." Sirus shook his head with a frown.

The frightened boy stopped crying and looked down, hopping if he didn't look at the monster, it would go away.

As he approached the begging mother, the rain slowly washed all remains of the blood off his body. His menacing but calming aura, made the mother shiver and tremble in fear. She simply accepted her death and simply continued to cry with her face facing the ground.

The residents cowering behind their homes as they peeked out of their windows, watched the scene unfold.

The rain slowly stopped, revealing the burnt forest, and also showing what the monster really was for all to see.

Sirus stood in front of the weeping mother and stared at her for a couple of moments before taking a deep breath and kneeling down to show her son unharmed in his arms.

"I'm not going to kill you, alright? So stop crying, it's embarrassing." Sirus spoke gently

She slowly looks up as she continues to tremble, her face in fear when she saw her son laying down quietly in the arms of the monster, she looked up at the monster. She couldn't figure out what was happening to her or what exactly was happening anymore. She simply stared at him.

"Y-you not going to kill us?" She whispered, ignoring the fact a monster could even speak.

"I don't have time for questions, so, just take your son alright? Sirus placed her son on her lap and patted the mothers head before walking away towards the forest, his figure slowly disappearing into the forest.

"M-mother?" The boy strutted in fear as his voice clearly indicated he was terrified for his life.

She embraced her son tightly into her chest and moments later she looked up for the monster but he was nowhere to be seen.

Sirus left the village but not before grabbing his dagger and staring down at the decapitated elderly woman. "I'm guessing you didn't reveal that I stayed at your house huh? Should have told them, now your choice will leave a big impact on your daughter."

As though Sirus said those words, he was thankful for her letting him eat and let him stay around for so long. Alas, she also should have revealed him to the knights, he was already left and nowhere to be seen, so why hide Sirus and get killed. For what? That he couldn't understand."

A few hours passed by and the sun shone brightly upon the valley, he walked for hours, the forest that was once full of life, now lost to the humans and their destruction.

He continued his plan and walked down the river.

weeks passed by and nothing interesting came up, and how long he walked down the river for, he didn't know. But after 2 months of walking down the river, he noticed a change, the forest no longer was the monster forest. But the human forest was what his teacher Gem taught him.

"A new place, a new beginning." He yawned as he laid down upon a long rock that was oddly smooth, he basked in the sunshine for several hours before working on physical body training.

He would take breaks and train his young body as he continued to walk down stream.

Another week goes by.

One day, Sirus notice a change in scenery, a paved dirt road, with a tall sign with a couple of signs pointing in either direction.

Sirus approached the sign but as he goes to read what is engraved, a human seems to be camping on the side of the dirt road, not too far from his current position.

He hides behind a tree and peeks over to look at the human and finds out he looks like a regular human, with that knowledge, he looks at the sign and reads it from afar.

'Welcome to the town of Kurts, the town of Kurts? What idiot came up with that name?' Sirus sighs, before looking at the human camping out, with a makeshift tent and a book in hand. Seemingly reading without a care in the world. Sirus sniffed the air to detect if any other humans were in the area but he couldn't smell anyone else besides the one.

"Well, my first human in this new area, a new adventure…" Sirus spoke sarcastically, expecting trouble to find him whenever humans were nearby.
