Beneath The Rain

Chapter 1: Prologue

Prologue

The rain fell softly, weaving a melancholic melody that blurred the city into a watercolor dream. It wasn't just rain—it was a carrier of memories, droplets laden with echoes of love and heartbreak. The world outside moved in a haze, indifferent to the storm within Adrian's chest.

He sat by the window, fingers poised above the keyboard of his laptop. The blank page stared back at him, its emptiness both daunting and familiar. The rain tapped against the glass, insistent, as though urging him to begin.

Diana Fox. Her name lingered in his mind, an ache he could neither soothe nor escape. She had been everything—his muse, his joy, his destruction. Adrian had loved her with a loyalty that bordered on blindness, only to watch that love unravel in the face of betrayal.

He closed his eyes, letting the memories rise like a tide he couldn't hold back. Diana's laughter, her captivating smile, the way her presence could brighten a room—or darken it with equal intensity. She had been a storm, fierce and beautiful, leaving him in ruins when she passed.

Adrian exhaled, his chest tightening. This wasn't a story he wanted to tell, but it was the only one that mattered. The only way to make sense of the chaos she had left behind.

With trembling hands, he began to type:

"She walked into my life like a summer storm—vivid, wild, and impossible to ignore. But storms never last, and she left me in the aftermath, searching for the pieces of myself she took with her."

The words came slowly at first, hesitant and raw, but soon they began to flow. The rain outside matched his pace, steady and unyielding, as if nature itself conspired to bear witness to his pain.

This was his story—a story of love, loss, and everything in between. Adrian didn't know if writing it would heal him, but it was a beginning. And sometimes, that was enough.
