Barely Becoming a Titled Douluo, and the Counterattack System Arrives

Chapter 41: Chapter 41 — Lin Fan Meets Bibi Dong Again

After several rounds of drinks, Qian Renxue—who had been silently downing wine without eating—was already flushed, her fair cheeks dyed a rosy red.

Sitting beside Lin Fan, Qian Renxue leaned against his shoulder, her drunkenness making her more outspoken as she vented her frustrations.

"Lin Fan, tell me—why does that Bibi Dong suddenly think she has the right to control me, after ignoring me my whole life?"

"You're a prophet, aren't you? All-knowing, all-seeing—so tell me, what exactly happened between us?"

"She never treated me as a daughter. When I was little, she wouldn't even let me call her 'Mother.' If I did, she'd get mad and ignore me. Only if I called her 'Sister' would she bother saying a few words to me."

"That's why I called her 'Sister' growing up. It was the only way I could speak to her, the only way I could stay by her side a little longer."

"Later, when I came to Heaven Dou City to carry out her plan, we saw each other less and less. Yet she took in a disciple and treats that disciple far better than she's ever treated me."

"I could endure all that. But today… she came to Heaven Dou City, claiming it was to see me—but really, it was all about you."

"In her eyes, I'm not even worth as much as a stranger."

"So tell me—what right does she have to control me now?"

"Come on, drink! Drink with me! We won't stop till we're drunk!"

"You're already drunk," Lin Fan said softly, though he didn't stop her from continuing.

He could easily imagine just how much bitterness was buried deep in Qian Renxue's heart.

After all, with everything she had endured these past years—silently suffering in Heaven Dou City—and with Bibi Dong's actions today, Lin Fan knew she desperately needed to let it out.

Besides, with a soul master's physique, alcohol wasn't much of an issue. Bottling up her feelings would do far more harm than a little drinking.

"I'm not drunk. I'm perfectly clear-headed," Qian Renxue insisted, pouring herself another glass and downing it in one gulp.

In the end, both bottles of strong liquor were emptied by Qian Renxue alone—Lin Fan had barely finished two cups.

"Lin Fan… do you think I matter less to her than a stranger?" Qian Renxue muttered, half asking him and half asking herself.

"That's not true," Lin Fan said quietly. "You're still very important to Bibi Dong."

"Hmph. I don't believe it," Qian Renxue scoffed, waving her hand dismissively before downing another glass.

After drinking, she slung her arm around Lin Fan's neck again, mumbling, "Lin Fan… I'm so tired."

Then, wearing a look of deep sorrow, Qian Renxue leaned against Lin Fan's shoulder, her silent tears falling.

She soon drifted off, muttering in her sleep, "I'm not even as important as a stranger…"

Sigh. Lin Fan let out a long sigh.

Seeing that she had fully vented her emotions and passed out from the alcohol, still clinging tightly to him, Lin Fan could only lift her into his arms and leave the room.

Opening the door, Lin Fan calmly said to Snake Lance Douluo and Porcupinefish Douluo, "Your lady is completely drunk. I doubt she'll be able to maintain her disguise as Xue Qinghe. I'll have her stay at my place tonight. Any objections?"

The two looked at how tightly Qian Renxue clung to Lin Fan's neck. Snake Lance Douluo sighed helplessly. "Then we'll trouble you. It's late—we need to return to the prince's mansion to deal with any nobles who might show up unexpectedly."

"Very well." Seeing how much they trusted him, Lin Fan didn't leave through the main door. Instead, he opened the window and soared off, stepping on his sword.

"Title Douluo…" The two exchanged shocked glances, their hearts filled with awe.

Following from the shadows, Ghost Douluo lost track of him—Lin Fan vanished in an instant, leaving no clue where he had gone.

"Miss is drunk… Lin Fan wouldn't take advantage of this, would he?" Ghost Douluo muttered, frowning.

After a moment of thought, remembering the house Qian Renxue had visited earlier in the day, Ghost Douluo turned and returned to the Spirit Hall's local branch.

Inside the temple, Bibi Dong was still seated in the secondary hall, having not moved since Qian Renxue's departure.

"Reporting, Your Holiness," Ghost Douluo said as he entered swiftly. "The young lady got drunk and was taken away by Lin Fan. I couldn't follow them—but I remember the house she visited earlier today."

"Let's go!" Bibi Dong opened her eyes and stood.

At that moment, Lin Fan had already brought Qian Renxue back to his newly purchased home.

He laid her gently on the bed he had bought that very day, then pulled a blanket over her.

Afterward, he stepped out to the living room and began making tea.

Before twenty minutes had passed, Lin Fan sensed three powerful presences approaching.

He had already learned from Qian Renxue at the restaurant that Bibi Dong had arrived in Heaven Dou City to find him.

At that moment, Lin Fan knew his new house wouldn't remain a secret for long.

While carrying Qian Renxue away earlier, he had deliberately scanned the area, and besides Snake Lance and Porcupinefish Douluo, he'd detected another strong presence nearby.

Someone capable of hiding their aura so thoroughly could only be Ghost Douluo—one of Bibi Dong's trusted aides, alongside Chrysanthemum Douluo.

"They're here," Lin Fan muttered as the tea finished brewing. He stood up and opened the door to welcome them.

Outside, he saw Bibi Dong—someone he hadn't seen in many years.

She was dressed in a flowing purple gown, her long hair cascading freely down her back. She wore neither crown nor scepter tonight.

Compared to the youthful Bibi Dong of his memories, she hadn't aged much, but her mature charm had deepened, exuding an alluring grace.

If she had once been an unripe peach, now she was fully ripe—irresistibly enticing.

"Bibi Dong… It's been over a decade. You've certainly matured," Lin Fan said with a faint smile.

"Lin Fan… You don't look much older either. Seems your strength isn't to be underestimated," Bibi Dong replied, stepping up to stand less than a meter from him.

"Enough nonsense. Where's Qian Renxue?" she demanded coldly. "You didn't do anything inappropriate to her, did you?"

Lin Fan snorted softly. "You're overthinking it. If I had such intentions, I wouldn't have brought her here—I would've taken her somewhere no one could find us."

"After all, even your Ghost Douluo couldn't keep up with my speed."

"I want to see her," Bibi Dong said firmly.

"Please," Lin Fan said calmly, leading her to the bedroom.

Bibi Dong approached the bed, lifting the blanket. Though Qian Renxue's outer garments were slightly disheveled, there were no signs of anything improper.

Bibi Dong tucked her back in, but as she did, she heard Qian Renxue murmuring in her sleep: "I'm not even as important as a stranger…"

Her heart clenched painfully, and she couldn't bear to look at her daughter's face any longer.

Exiting the room with Lin Fan, she closed the door behind them. Her voice turned cold and threatening.

"I know you're aware of the truth. You haven't told her… have you?"

Lin Fan snorted. "That's something you'll have to tell her yourself—only you can release the shackles in her heart."

Without waiting for a response, Lin Fan headed downstairs to the living room.

Bibi Dong's gaze darkened as she followed him, sitting across from him.

"You two, wait outside," she instructed Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo.

"Yes, Your Holiness," the two replied respectfully, quickly leaving the room.

Once they were gone, Bibi Dong said softly, "I truly didn't expect you to reach Title Douluo with only innate spirit power of level six."

But… you're coming back with me.
