BARBIE AND THE UGLY DUCKLING: SEASON 1

Barbiee thought she was doing me good but no, she was just going to make my life more miserable here at school.

"Over here!". Chloe yelled and waved at us.

I held Barbiee and we moved over to Chloe's table.

"Hello. I'm Chloe. Griz's best friend and this is Greg, Amelia and Rachel my friends". Chloe told Barbiee and everyone said hi.

"Hi. You must be very lucky to have Griz as your best friend". Barbiee said.

"Hmm I don't know. She's been giving me a heart attack recently". Chloe told Barbiee, obviously referencing the Steven's issue.

"Really how so?". Barbiee asked. I have to admit these two really click.

"She's dati..Ouch!". I kicked Chloe to prevent her from spilling the bean. "Never mind, let's just get to know each other". She changed the topic quickly.

Most times, I wish lunch break would never end. I feel comfortable whenever I am with this set of people.

After lunch break, we strolled down the hallway.

"Griz!". Steven called out.

I turned and so did Barbiee. "Steven". I said.

He waved at Barbiee and said to me. "We didn't get to talk again after that day".

"Did you make up with Nikki?". I asked.

"No. I'll talk to you later. You two have fun". He said and walked away.

Barbiee tapped me. "Nikki's boyfriend, right? Do you like him?". She asked and winked at me.

"No! He's not my type?". I denied.

"Hmm okay". She said and we walked back to the class.

The rest of the day was peaceful and quiet but when I got home, I saw my dad dancing with his so-called colleague in the living room.

"Dad!!". I yelled.

He turned around and quickly turned off the music while the woman put on her jacket.

"You are home?". He said acting like nothing happened.

I lost it immediately. "Is she your girlfriend? Dad I'll only ask once and remember you of all people understand what it means to be honest". I told him with anger.

"How dare you talk to me like that! Fine she is my girlfriend". My dad said.

I took a step back, glanced at the woman who turned her face away, and then I glanced at my dad before running to my room.

When I got to my room, I locked the door, took my mum's picture out of my drawer and lay with it.

I cried and talked to my mum through her picture. After sometime, I fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning, I woke up so early. I had no intention of seeing my father. I prepared for school and opened my door.

On the floor, was a plate of food covered. My dad must have knocked a lot but I was fast asleep.

I walked past the plate and headed to school.

When I got to school, I headed to the toilet. Few seconds after I got in, a group of girls trooped in.

"That ugly duckling really doesn't know her place. The other day she walked into the school, as Steven's baby and now she's best friends with Barbiee". One of them said.

"That girl is so ugly and out of style yet she flirts with someone else's boyfriend. Does she even have a mom?". Another said.

These people weren't from my class. I wonder what was going on that they had to speak so ill of me today. I pushed the door open and they screamed.

I moved to the sink and washed my hands. I wanted to say something but I just couldn't find the right words to speak, so I walked out feeling like a coward.

I walked into my class, but there was no-one there as I had come so early.

I rested my head on my table and prayed not to fall asleep.

Shortly afterwards, my classmates trooped in.

"I can't believe she can fall asleep right now with all the things going on with her and Steven". Natasha said.

"She is a flirt!". Kara said.

I became so confused. What was actually going on?

"Hey can I talk to you for a minute?". Steven tapped me and said.

"No! she isn't going anywhere with you!". Barbiee yelled and I raised my head.

"Griz are you okay?". Barbiee asked.

"Let's go outside now". Barbiee said and held my hands.

Bang! Chloe stepped into my class with anger. "Griselda! Let's talk outside". She yelled.

What was actually going on? I became embarrassed and ran out of the class.
