BARBIE AND THE UGLY DUCKLING: SEASON 1

"Please don't take it the wrong way but how come you only talk about your dad. I mean your walls are filled with a complete family portrait". He asked me.

He hit a sensitive spot. My mom passed away when I was seven and I made sure, no-one knew about it at school except Chloe.

Actually, the truth is no-one cares about my life. Okay, back to reality.

Steven noticed that I wasn't talking and I think he got the message.

"It's fine. You don't have to talk about it. My mum divorced my dad to". He said.

What the hell! If my mum divorced my dad why would that be so hard for me to talk about. Anyways, I'll just let him believe what he wants to believe. It's not like we are close or anything but I have to say he's a little dense.

"So, you said you wanted to show me something?". He reminded me.

Of course, I wanted to show him something but he's totally ruined the mood, now I'll have to look for a way to discharge him. If I could just...

"Griselda! Whose car is that". My dad yelled.

Okay I am dead for sure but looking at it from a bright side, I don't need to think of a way to discharge him anymore.

I raced to meet my dad outside but I saw something strange. He was with a middle-aged woman.

"Who are you?". I asked forgetting my manners.

"Griselda is that how you talk to your elders and I just asked you whose car is this?". My dad asked again.

"It's mine". Steve told my dad. My dad's expression was exactly what I was expecting. He was furious especially given the fact that Steven looks like a bad boy.

"Griselda!". My dad yelled.

"Calm down Ben". The middle-age woman said in a disgusting voice. Well, it sounded disgusting to me some of you might call it sweet.

"Sir, I had issues with my art assignment so I asked to meet Griselda so she could teach me. She didn't want to stay late at school or at someplace and have you worry about her so she decided to come home. She said it's safer here". Steve explained in a rush.

It was obvious that he was scared. Who wouldn't be scared of my father but I have to admit he might be dense, but he's a great liar. Let's just see how my dad takes it.

"Fine but I think you've overstayed your welcome". He told Steve and pointed to Steve's car.

Steve ran into his car and drove off. Now I could know who this woman is to my dad.

"Hello, who are you to my dad?". I asked with curiosity.

"I am you dad's g...". She was about to reveal their relationship but my dad interrupted.

"Friend. She is my friend from work". He said.

Though things looked fishy here but I don't think my dad has a reason to lie to me.

I smiled and moved to my room.

The next day at school, I prepared myself mentally and physically.

When I got to school, people began looking at me with stinky eyes. This felt so strange. Suddenly, a hand grabbed me into an empty classroom.

"Griz". Choe called out.

"Dude what the hell. You scared me". I told her.

"Oh, did I really scare you or were you waiting for someone else to drag your hands uh". Chloe said in a very sarcastic tune.

"Okay what is going on". I asked her there's nothing I hate more than beating about the bush.

"Are you gonna play dumb with me? Dude what is going on between you and Steven". She asked and looked directly into my soul.

"What! Nothing's going on with me and Steven. That's just a stupid rumor. He followed me to my house for an art assignment and it was sort of a way of avoiding Nikki". I told Chloe but she didn't look satisfied at all.

"Can I tell you something? Well, I don't need your permission but Griselda I'm sure you know what happened between Steven and my classmate Rina. They were just friends not really though but he had issues with Nikki and she sort of gave him good advice. He followed her around and they became fond of each other. When the rumor got to the whole school, as Nikki never let her have breathing space, Steven said he was bored and he was just playing with her. That hurts more that anything Griselda. You could have just refused to hang out with him at the first place". Chloe said.

She called me Griselda and when she does that, she is very serious about the situation.

"Chloe, I promise...". I intended to reassure her about my relationship with Steven but we suddenly heard screams from the students.

"Oh my God!! It's Barbie Robert's daughter Barbiee". A girl yelled.
