Chapter 10: EPISODE NINE: A SPEECH
She looked at me with red eyes. "How dare you say that? Barbiee, I know that I told you everything about myself but you haven't been in this school to understand this scenario. This always happens to me whether I do wrong or not. Chloe says I shouldn't have hung out with him in the first place. How on earth would I know!!". She yelled so hard but she wasn't getting my point either.
"No, I am not saying that you shouldn't have hung out with him. I am not even talking about this whole shit that happened. I am talking about the shit that has been happening. Ugly duckling, that name that you are okay with. Griz, it takes a pretty girl to know a pretty girl. Nikki picks on you because she is jealous of you". I tell her but she rolls her eyes and keeps painting.
"She has to go through a lot of processes to be beautiful and has to do crazy things to make her popular. I can relate to this because of my mum". She stopped painting the moment she heard me say this.
"My mum that we all know Barbie was just like Nikki except the fact that she doesn't bully others. She was tagged as a perfect girl. Perfect hair, perfect dress, perfect smile, perfect makeup. She couldn't express her emotions because she had to be perfect and being perfect includes smiling always. She dated Ken. I doubt she loved him but he was a perfect guy to so in order to be a perfect girl she had to date a perfect guy regardless of her feelings. But my mom was never happy. She wondered who she was behind the mask she wore and one day, she broke out of her shell, fell in love with my dad and brought me into the world. This story is meant for Nikki but it also applies to you. I know that deep inside you, you want to lash out at anyone who speaks ill of you. You want to show people your beautiful talent, you want to be free. Stop yielding to what people say about you. Do what will make you fulfilled to avoid regrets tomorrow". I gave a speech that I didn't prepare for. Now if this wasn't enough to convince her, I am moving...
"Thank you Barbiee. That was wonderful and I'm sorry for saying those mean things to you". She said and hugged me.
"Oh, you'll stain me!". I yelled and we both laughed.
"Why don't I make my art debut at school". She said and this got me excited.
"Yes, why don't we sneak out at night to school and place a portrait at our walkway". I suggested.
"Yes. Search with me". She said and we both laughed.
We began searching for the best portrait.
"That reminds me your dad is dating someone right. Why did you get all mad?". I asked and chuckled.
"It's normal to get mad though especially at the fact that he lied to me but it's all good now. He thinks I didn't open the door because I was mad but the truth is I was fast asleep". She told me in her hilarious tone and I laughed my heart out.
After picking a portrait, I called my mum and informed her that I would be back late.
