Baby Pharmacist Princess

Chapter 57

“Yes.”

Sihat’s expression was calm as he stated the seemingly impossible.

He looked as though he didn’t understand why it would be impossible.

The high priest, his face turning red, could only laugh awkwardly.

“As expected of His Holiness! Truly, God is with you!”

Yet the boy, who should have at least shrugged his shoulders at the praise, remained unresponsive. He merely scanned the high priest with an emotionless gaze unbefitting his age.

Those eyes were chilling.

The high priest couldn’t stand them and felt the urge to bow his head.

“You’re too loud, it’s hard to concentrate. Everyone except the essential personnel, leave.”

And now he was speaking so rudely, trying to dismiss him!

This was unacceptable.

He needed to keep an eye on the Pope.

If that sly boy said anything about not being properly treated within the Holy Temple, it could give the royal family an excuse to interfere with the church.

“I must stay! Please let me witness the miracle of His Holiness with my own eyes!”

The high priest protested vehemently, but moments later, he found himself being dragged out by the two princes.

Having only a body fattened by indulgence, he was powerless to resist.

All talk, no strength.

“Please.”

As the high priest was thrown out, Gergys turned to look at the Pope standing next to Cherishe.

He lowered his head, asking silently for anything that could help.

Sihat’s red eyes glimmered as he watched.

“…Don’t worry. She’s just asleep. It seems she has much to do in her dreams.”

“Believing that… would bring some comfort.”

Bang!

The door closed.

Now, the room contained only the Prince, Sihat, and Cherishe.

Sihat looked down at the motionless Cherishe, his eyes lowering.

‘It’s not easy to speak like a child.’

No matter how he tried, the sharp, commanding tone he used before returning to this time wouldn’t leave him.

The future was a battlefield.

As Pope, Sihat had formed the Holy Knights, leading them personally to cut down monsters.

He had spent a long time in war, and barely had time to breathe before he was thrown back into the past, so the stiff, indifferent tone remained ingrained.

People must not notice anything strange.

“If you can awaken Cherishe.”

Then, breaking the silence, Vikal spoke slowly and heavily.

“I will grant you whatever you desire.”

“Do you know what I desire?”

“Anything but marrying my daughter.”

Vikal was serious.

Idsys was wary of the Pope’s proposal, and Vikal was no different.

However, he could improve the Pope’s current situation.

He was aware of how the Pope was treated in the Holy Temple.

Surely he was not properly fed.

Vikal had the power to change such circumstances with a few words.

“That would be difficult.”

But Sihat, looking down at Cherishe, did not even smile.

Despite the opportunity, he showed no sign of wanting to seize it or expressing regret.

A gentle light shimmered in Sihat’s hand.

Vikal quietly waited for the young Pope’s answer.

He had not expected such a reply.

“I fell in love with your daughter at first sight.”

“What?”

“Oh, don’t worry. I don’t intend to die young or leave the current Holy Temple as it is.”

The bold, almost insolent declaration made Vikal’s mouth twist.

Yet he couldn’t use the power of the Dragon Heart or project any intimidation.

Even though the Pope acted as if he had lived through everything, he was still a child, and above all, Cherishe was too close.

Vikal did nothing, fearing harm might come to his daughter who couldn’t wake up.

For now, he needed the Pope to awaken her.

“A son-in-law who relies on his in-laws for help wouldn’t be trustworthy. So, I’ll decline your offer.”

Sihat replied calmly, drawing a cross on Cherishe’s forehead. He clasped his hands in prayer.

The radiance surrounded him as he closed his eyes, signaling not to be disturbed.

‘Whether he’s a fraud or not.’

Time would tell.

Vikal waited with dark, sunken eyes.

Seconds felt excruciatingly long, but waiting was the only answer for now.

Sihat, on the other hand, had been keeping track of time since entering the room.

Even his words to the high priest, the cross, and this prayer were all a show.

To change the future, he needed to bond with Cherishe’s family.

This incident was the first step.

It was the moment when he and Cherishe first met.

‘I didn’t even know how to use holy power back then.’

He had been a young, angry boy.

Arriving late after kicking and biting the high priest, he had done nothing, and miraculously, Cherishe woke up.

When her long lashes fluttered and her large, pretty crimson eyes opened.

When those eyes looked at him and brightened, calling him ‘pretty.’

At that moment, Sihat thought the fluttering in his chest was pain.

He realized much later that it was actually the feeling of falling in love.

‘So saying I fell in love at first sight isn’t a lie.’

Of course, Cherishe had been too dazed to remember him well from that day…

But not Sihat.

He occasionally remembered that day.

Carefully recalling it only when he was really struggling, fearing the memory might not be preserved well otherwise.

The purity in her eyes and the voice that called him pretty made his suffering a bit more bearable.

‘Originally, I wouldn’t meet Cherishe again in her childhood.’

After this, the royal family lost all trust in the Holy Temple, not allowing her to attend his enthronement ceremony.

She didn’t appear in the winter almond hunt either.

Hoping to see her again, to understand the fluttering, Sihat had been disappointed.

They met again only after the monster war broke out.

Cherishe formed a royal nursing corps and personally supported the battlefield.

As Pope and leader of the Holy Knights, Sihat welcomed Princess Cherishe and ensured she could care for the soldiers.

‘If falling in love at first sight was a sudden accident, love was a gradual immersion.’

Cherishe roamed the battlefield, saving the lives of wounded knights and soldiers.

Perceived as weak among the royals, she was strong enough to protect herself, and her nursing corps was equally capable.

She never hesitated before any horrific scene.

She did not seek royal privileges, bearing only her duties and responsibilities.

In less than three months, the nursing corps became indispensable in fierce battles where many deaths were expected.

Just their presence boosted morale.

Princess and leader of the nursing corps, Cherishe Wynn Castalia.

Everyone began to revere her as the ‘Saintess.’

Although the demon Pabel stood proudly by her side as her childhood friend, Sihat’s only wish was to separate them…

Still, it was fine.

Even though he could only watch Cherishe suffer after learning the truth behind the war, he was happy.

As the long war neared its end, Cherishe handed over her command to her deputy and vanished.

Prince Vikal, the twin princes, and even Sihat half-madly searched for her.

The truth was revealed about a year after the war officially ended.

A dreadful <…> came back, killing more people than the war.

She had always seen this world as a game, completing her tasks and leaving.

‘This time will be different, Cherishe.’

So wake up.

Open your eyes and look at me.

“Ugh…”

Cherishe stirred and made a faint sound.

Vikal jumped up so quickly that the chair behind him fell over with a crash.

“!”

“Da…d?”

Vikal couldn’t speak.

His eyes wavered with overwhelming emotion.

Sihat waited quietly, not wanting to interrupt the father-daughter reunion.

He hoped Cherishe’s bewildered gaze would turn to him, letting him hear those sweet words again.

Sihat was good at waiting.

Just as he had spent a long time figuring out what to call that fluttering feeling, he could patiently focus on her.

It’s not difficult.

“Dad, you look weird… Yawn.”

Cherishe yawned and turned, leaning her head on her father’s chest.

Then, finally, her round face turned toward him.

Her eyes met Sihat’s.

“Oh? Pretty.”

Her foolishly smiling face.

Returning to the past, her face was only full of love and light, free from guilt and suffering.

‘Ah.’

So this was how you could smile at this age.
