Awakened: SSS Ranked Soul king

Chapter 153: Resolve

The next day, two individuals walked through the streets of ravenskeep heading directly towards the castle gates. One of them was incredibly short with a black cloak on and a box twice his size on his back.

The other a young man in military uniform and a calm look on his face.

"Halt," the guards at the gate raised their hands up stopping both.

"What business do you have here?" One of the guards asked releasing a frightening killing aura. Unlike beyond the wrap, what they were guarding here was truly precious.

It was the true leadership of the nightmare desert clearing army.

"I'm delivering a weapon to Klaus" The man in the black hood responded from below looking at the guardsmen.

Klaus, this was the name of the Blacksteel lord. Everyone knew this yet no one dared call him by his real name for fear of earning his anger. In as much as he was a fair person, his spite usually went overboard whenever it reared its head.

"Hmp!! It's the old imp, don't mind him. He's just bitter" one of the guards sneered seemingly recognizing the old devil.

The old man had spent a few nights in jail under their watch so they knew who he was. He was an old bitter man with anger issues. However they had nothing to fear , the lord had captured him once and would gladly do it again if he overstepped his boundaries.

"Can I go in? All this chatter is boring" The old devil sneered, if it was anywhere else, he would attach explosive inscriptions on these two and blow them sky high.

They wouldn't even count as threats.

"Ehnn, sure….but this one must identify himself first" the guard turned to the young man in military uniform and asked.

Guillimans issues with the Blacksteel lord was common knowledge, but only amongst those who were high enough or infulencial enough to know.

"This is the only identification I need" Guilliman mutters pulled his collar down and revealing a heavy metal clamp around his neck.

Even if they didn't, they could easily recognize the Blacksteel clamp around his neck. The clamb of servitude.

The blacksteel lord was once a slave, but in as much as he hated the practice, the practicality of it in the sense of loyalty was undeniable. The blacksteel lord had 3 slaves of immense power each of them wore these clamps around their necks.

"Go in" they immediately stepped aside.

These slaves were the property of the lord, they had far more influence than any one of them here.

And so Guilliman and the old devil made their way up the castle moving through steps and makeshift elevators. As they did so, several eyes fell upon them.

This castle was a shared space between the three grand generals of the army, they being the lords of the three original shelters sent here.

"Guilliman is that you?" A voice resounded in one of the corners of the castle as a young man in blacksteel amour suddenly approached.

"Dorn?" Guilliman raised his eyebrow and smirked bitterly.

"Haha, long time no see" Dorn tapped Guilliman heavily on his shoulders a look of joy painted on his face.

It wasn't easy to meet survivors of the emrald gate incident from those years ago. All of them had been fully absorbed by the myriad powers of the shelter and were being treated like kings.

They had basically become celebrities in this war.

"Uhhh yes, though there was the angus pyramid…" Guilliman responded with an remark that caused dorn to go red in embarrassment.

One of the many times he bite more than he could chew was the angus pyramid. He nearly died there and almost dragged a whole platoon with him.

Thankfully the phantom vanguard had appeared in the nick of time.

"Let's not talk about that…" Dorm smirked bitterly as his eyes drifted to the short old man beside Guilliman.

"Hmm, what are you doing beyond the wrap if I may ask" he turned back to Guilliman with a frown. If he could remember correctly, Guilliman wasn't allowed beyond the wrap gate.

He could only be here if he was summoned or received permission. Either senario was concerning.

"I'm here to see Klaus" Guilliman responded flatly with no intention in his voice. It was as if he didn't care about this whole situation.

However his words betrayed him. Klaus? Guilliman had never called the Blacksteel lord by his name to his face or anyone related.

Klaus was an indication of rebellion coming from Guilliman.

Dorns face darkened.

"He should already know you're here, I'll have you a life-line. I'm going on a mission beyond the wrap, if you follow me right now I'm sure he won't punish you" Dorn started speaking in a hushed voice as he pulled guilliman close.

This was a very bad situation, if guilliman was so naive that he thought the Blacksteel lord would really free him after three years. He had the same deal in place with his other three slaves, but it was all a farce to save face.

Going to see him in there was a death sentence.

"Don't worry about it old friend, I'm not a fool. I won't bite more than I can chew" Guilliman responded by patting dorn on the back and without a second thought he walked away.

He had to do this no matter the consequences.

"Sigh," Dorn shook his head, he was pretending all along. The truth was he was only down here become of Guilliman.

The moment he noticed him from his room he rushed to stop the kid. This wasn't coincidental, unfortunately Guilliman didn't seem to want to listen.

"Goodluck, you'll need it" dorn muttered under his breath and turned away.

5 minutes later,

"Lordship, the old blacksmith is here to see you" a guard bowed in the middle of a massive throne room in the direction of a man in blacksteel amour.

"This isn't the usual place" the old devil frowned looking out the window of the hall.

He had visited Klaus several times, but had never been brought to this place. Wasn't this meant for the next chief general?
