Chapter 176: Chapter 176: Hyuga Gakuya’s Talk no Jutsu – The Plan Succeeds
Faced with the sudden turn of events, Hyuga Gakuya swiftly raised a hand, catching the incoming attack with one hand.
Temari was just about to move when Gakuya struck her square in the chest with a palm thrust. A surge of electricity coursed through her body, knocking her out cold.
"So... you've all decided to betray me now?"
Gakuya shook his hand forcefully, his expression like frost—cold, twisted, and menacing.
"Then again, it makes sense. We were never anything but mortal enemies. In this absurd, broken world, only hatred and burning rage can continue to exist."
"You came here to kill me, didn't you? Just like I once ruthlessly killed your loved ones. Isn't the fire of vengeance already raging inside you?"
"The Hyuga Clan slaughtered my family without mercy. And I returned the favor—with blood. I wiped them out. I let you remnants survive for one reason: to keep this cycle of hatred going."
As he spoke, Gakuya's face distorted wildly, shifting into that of Chiba Mokushu. Bloodshot eyes bulged as he screamed at the top of his lungs,
"Come on, try to kill me now! Keep the cycle going! It's not over yet! This twisted world, this twisted story—it's still going! It never ends!"
His voice was nearly unhinged, his entire being consumed by hatred, as if he had fallen too deep to ever return.
...
Hinata looked at Gakuya, madness written all over his face. Her eyes welled with tears, her voice trembling but unwavering.
"Gakuya... we're not enemies. We're family. That hatred... it's already spilled too much blood, torn apart too many families."
"We don't want to be blinded by it anymore. We don't want to be trapped in an endless cycle of pain. We're ready to let it go—and we hope you can too."
Hanabi stepped forward, biting her lip, sincerity shining in her eyes.
"Brother, we're family. The past... we can't change it. But the future is still in our hands. Believe in this world. Believe in the bond between us—it can heal everything."
Gakuya's eyes widened, disbelief contorting his face. He screamed again, hoarse and desperate,
"Let it go? I let go a long time ago! This is your revenge now! Kill me! I won't resist! Do it! Continue this blood-soaked, hate-fueled cycle!"
He trembled all over, as if their compassion had shaken the very foundation of the cruel worldview he clung to. His body spoke of a storm raging deep within.
...
Hinata slowly shook her head, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"We may never fully understand your pain... but we know this—holding onto hate will only hurt more people. We don't want to lose you. We don't want to lose anyone else. Gakuya, please... try to let go."
Hanabi added,
"Yes. This world... it's not all darkness. There's beauty too. Remember the cherry blossoms we watched in spring? The stars we counted on summer nights? Weren't those warm memories enough to make you believe in the future?"
Gakuya knew he had lost control of himself. He took a deep breath, forcing his emotions to settle. With a cold snort, he muttered,
"The world? Beauty? Future? I don't see how those words belong in the same sentence."
"There are too many people who don't want this world to change. I tried—I really did—tried to bring peace. And all it brought me was despair."
...
Hinata took a step closer, trying to grasp his arm, urgency in her voice.
"Gakuya, even if beauty is fleeting, we can create more of it. If you're willing to let go of hate... we can look for it together."
Hanabi nodded, firm and sincere.
"Yeah. And look at us now—because of hatred, we're in so much pain. Do you really want this pain to continue forever?"
From the side, Shikamaru struggled to his feet, coughing harshly.
"The Five Great Nations are working together now. We've set aside our hatred. If we keep going like this, we can build a better world."
...
Gakuya fell silent, eyes clouded with turmoil and hesitation.
Hinata's tears wouldn't stop. Her voice grew more sorrowful, more pleading.
"Gakuya... maybe this world has disappointed you, but we can still change it—together. As long as we don't give up, there's always hope."
Hanabi clenched her fists tightly, her eyes locked on him.
"You're not alone in this fight. We'll stand by your side, no matter what."
Gakuya's eyes flickered with uncertainty. A crack was forming in his resolve.
Shikamaru saw it immediately and stepped forward, locking eyes with him.
"Hyuga Gakuya. We know your past is full of pain—but that doesn't justify walking a path of destruction. No matter what other nations did, Konoha has always sought peace and justice. We're willing to work with you to find a real solution."
This was his last card. Gakuya wasn't someone they could overpower. If persuasion failed now, there would be no second chance.
...
After a long pause, Gakuya slowly raised his head. The madness and coldness in his eyes had diminished, though skepticism still lingered.
"You make it sound so easy. But how can I trust this isn't just another lie?"
Shikamaru answered quickly, "Then let us prove it through action. Just give us a chance. Give the world a chance."
Hinata wiped her tears, eyes filled with hope. "Let's take it one step at a time. Starting now."
Hanabi tugged gently at Gakuya's sleeve. "Please. Try."
Gakuya let out a long sigh. After a moment, he nodded.
"Fine. I'll trust you—just this once. But if this all ends in disappointment... I won't show mercy again."
...
Everyone let out a sigh of relief.
Shikamaru spoke up, "You don't need to fight anymore. I'll take care of the rest. We'll prove we have the will—and the strength—to change this world."
He wasn't trying to keep Gakuya out of the battle out of pride—he was just genuinely afraid that another word from Pain might sway him again. They wouldn't survive another reversal.
At that moment, the control Gakuya had over Minato also broke.
Everyone looked up simultaneously toward the distant figure.
As Naruto kept calling out to him, the flicker of struggle in Minato's eyes began to strengthen, eventually taking over. The dark aura around him began to fade, and his once-frenzied power slowly calmed. Minato was regaining his sanity.
"...Naruto... my son..." His voice was weak, but it was undeniably his.
Naruto's Nine-Tails form faded. Tears streamed down his cheeks as he embraced his father.
"Dad... you're finally back."
Minato smiled gently, brushing a hand over Naruto's hair.
"You've grown... and become so strong."
Before they could say much more, Minato's form began to flicker. He could feel his soul slipping from the grip of Edo Tensei, returning to the Pure Land.
Speaking quickly, he said, "Try to guide Hyuga Gakuya and Nagato to the right path. They're victims of this twisted world, too."
"Don't be sad, Naruto. Protect the village. Protect everything we held dear."
"I can rest easy now. You're a ninja who can stand on his own. Tell your mother—she won't need to worry anymore."
...
Naruto sobbed as he nodded, reaching out to grasp his father's fading hand.
"I will, Dad. I promise I won't let you down!"
"Dad... Mom... I've been eating well, so don't worry. I'm not picky anymore—I eat everything. Tonkotsu, miso, shoyu... not just ramen either. I bathe every day, and I even go to the hot springs in Konoha sometimes! Even if people say I just dip in like a dragonfly."
"I've made a lot of friends—really good ones. My grades still suck, but I never give up. I've got more determination than anyone!"
"I learned a lot from Pervy Sage. Even though I messed up all three of the shinobi taboos, he was so cool... I really respected him."
"Mom said to find someone like her... um... well... I haven't quite managed that yet, but I'm working on it!"
"I have a dream too! I'll become an even greater Hokage than you! I can do it—I know I can! Tell Mom she doesn't have to worry. I'll live my life to the fullest!"
...
As Naruto rambled on, Minato's form faded, scattering into glowing motes of light and vanishing into the sky.
(T/N: Such a dramatic story)
