The recruits selected for the Survey Corps this time were no ordinary slackers. These were elite soldiers—each chosen for their exceptional skills.

More than three years ago, when the Titans breached Wall Maria, the status of the Survey Corps shifted dramatically. Previously dismissed as a futile and expendable unit, they were now essential to humanity's survival.

As plans to recapture Wall Maria loomed, it was evident that only the Survey Corps could shoulder this mission. The government, understanding the stakes, poured resources into bolstering their ranks. Elite soldiers from both the Garrison Corps and Military Police were transferred to supplement the Survey Corps' losses.

Even the Military Police, who traditionally focused on internal security, had no choice but to contribute. If the Titans advanced beyond Wall Rose, neither the Garrison nor the Military Police could withstand the onslaught alone. Sending a small number of elite personnel was a small price to pay for survival.

By the time Ryo and Mikasa arrived at the Survey Corps' camp, many had already gathered.

"Look at this—kids who haven't even grown hair yet joining the army! The training corps must be desperate!"

A group of soldiers wearing the unicorn armband of the Military Police burst into laughter. Their mocking tone immediately caught Ryo's attention.

He squinted at the group, recognizing their dismissive attitude. The Military Police, despite their supposed superiority, were known for their arrogance.

Before Ryo could speak, Mikasa stepped forward.

"One on one," she declared coldly. "Do you dare to accept my challenge?"

The soldiers froze. Was this petite girl seriously challenging their strongest member, nicknamed "Mad Bull"?

The man in question, Silk, stood up, towering over Mikasa.

"You talking to me, kid?" he sneered, his voice dripping with disdain.

"Scared?" Mikasa replied, her eyes narrowing in contempt.

Silk's companions burst into laughter, egging him on.

"Looks like you've got no choice, Silk! Don't let her make a fool of you!"

Angered by Mikasa's taunt, Silk clenched his fists and charged, throwing a powerful punch aimed at her head. The wind from his swing whistled sharply, and Ryo couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.

**He's fast,** Ryo thought, but not fast enough.

Mikasa sidestepped effortlessly, her movements precise and controlled. Silk's punches kept coming, but Mikasa dodged each one with ease. For now, she remained on the defensive, studying her opponent's technique.

"Hey, Silk, you can't even hit a little girl? How embarrassing!" one of his companions taunted.

"Just admit defeat and crawl under her legs already! Maybe you'll get to see her panties!" another jeered, prompting roars of laughter from the group.

Ryo's face darkened.

"Mikasa, stop wasting your time," he called out. "If you want to practice, practice with me. Don't bother with this loser."

Mikasa glanced at him, understanding the hint. It was time to end this.

Silk threw another punch, but Mikasa was already moving. She sidestepped, grabbed his arm, and used his momentum to pull him forward. Her leg hooked his, tripping him off balance. In the same motion, her elbow struck his back with force.

Silk hit the ground with a thud, groaning in pain. His limbs twitched as he struggled to move, but his spine had taken the brunt of the attack. He wouldn't be standing anytime soon.

The laughter from the Military Police died instantly.

Ryo walked over and crouched beside Silk, his expression calm but firm.

"Next time, think twice before mocking someone from the Survey Corps," he said, his voice low and threatening.

Mikasa dusted her hands off and turned back to Ryo. "Was that enough, or do I still need practice?"

Ryo smirked. "You're fine. Let's head inside."

As they walked away, the stunned Military Police could only watch in silence.
