At The Beginning Of The Novel, The Villain Forced The Protagonist’s Step-Mom To Bear His Children

Chapter 97:

Chapter 97: Humiliating Yourself! Ice-Cold CEO! Xu Feiyan’s JK Uniform:

“You want to see our CEO? Do you have an appointment?” Zheng Feifan asked, his mood already sour. He took a deep breath, trying to hold back his irritation.

“Are you blind?” Li Xiao immediately stepped forward, pointing at Zheng Feifan and cursing. “Do you know who our Young Master Chu is? Does he need an appointment?”

“Watch your words. Do you think we can’t get your CEO to fire you? It wouldn’t be hard to get rid of a nobody like you.” Li Xiao sneered, taking the chance to mock the protagonist.

The exchange made him feel refreshed. He had always disliked the protagonist while reading the novel. Now, venting his frustrations felt incredibly satisfying. He made sure to keep Chu Xiaotian as the target, ready for any backlash that might come. He wouldn’t rush headlong into a fight; he’d just watch and enjoy the show, cheering from the sidelines if needed.

Chu Xiaotian looked pleased with Li Xiao’s support and nodded appreciatively. Meanwhile, Zheng Feifan’s face darkened.

“Without an appointment, you need to leave. If you cause any trouble, don’t blame me for taking action.” Zheng Feifan warned, his voice cold. The security guards behind him exchanged glances, secretly admiring his boldness. They knew who Chu Xiaotian was, but Zheng Feifan showed no fear.

Chu Xiaotian’s expression froze, feeling humiliated.

Who did this nobody think he was?

He had already revealed his identity, yet he was still disrespected.

Sensing the rising tension, Li Xiao quietly positioned himself behind Chu Xiaotian. If things got ugly, he planned to stay out of harm’s way.

Just then, a white Maserati Quattroporte pulled up. The car stopped, and a stunning woman stepped out.

She was breathtakingly beautiful. Her facial features were refined and elegant, and her eyes sparkled like jewels. Her silky black hair rested on her shoulders, and she carried herself with grace and poise. Clad in a OL suit, her cold and indifferent demeanor gave her an aura of authority. She was none other than Lin Chuqing, the story’s leading heroine.

Li Xiao was mesmerized. Lin Chuqing’s beauty and presence were far beyond ordinary. Her cold demeanor only added to her charm, making her a true ice queen. The thought of being close to someone like her was exhilarating.

Even though Chu Xiaotian had seen her many times, he was still captivated every time. Watching their reactions, Zheng Feifan felt his anger flare. Their behavior reminded him of the humiliation he faced when he lost Xiao Wanling. He had already lost one woman he cared about and vowed to protect Lin Chuqing from the same fate.

“What’s going on here?” Lin Chuqing asked, frowning as she approached the group gathered at the entrance of her company.

One of the security guards quickly explained. Lin Chuqing turned her cold gaze on Chu Xiaotian. “Are you here to see me?”

Chu Xiaotian snapped out of his daze and smiled. “Lin Chuqing, I’m here to discuss a business deal. I heard you recently developed a new energy battery, and I’m interested in placing a large order.”

On the surface, it sounded like a business proposal, but everyone knew it was just an excuse to get close to her. Chu Xiaotian hoped that by forming a business partnership, he could win her favor and eventually become closer to her.

Lin Chuqing’s frown deepened. She knew exactly what he was up to. She had rejected him countless times, yet he kept coming back. She had no desire to be involved with men like him.

“I’m sorry. Our new product isn’t ready for the market yet. We’re not accepting any business deals at the moment.” She replied, maintaining her composure.

Chu Xiaotian, unwilling to give up, tried a different angle. “I heard you’re looking for investment to develop new technologies. I’m willing to fund whatever you need as a stockholder.”

Beside him, Li Xiao sighed internally.

Was Chu Xiaotian really this dense? He couldn’t see that she wasn’t interested?

Despite his status as a wealthy heir, his lack of awareness was painful to watch. The protagonist’s luck must be truly strong.

Watching from the sidelines, Zheng Feifan grew tense. If Chu Xiaotian kept pushing, things would escalate quickly. Li Xiao prepared to step back even further.

Lin Chuqing rejected him once again. “Thank you, but we don’t need outside investments. Our technology is at a crucial stage, and we have everything we need.”

Chu Xiaotian’s hopes crumbled. He had tried to use his wealth to forge a connection but failed spectacularly. Feeling humiliated, he made one last desperate attempt. “I know you’ve been clearing out old inventory to fund your new project. Let me buy everything you’re selling.”

“Enough.” Lin Chuqing’s patience ran out. She cut him off sharply. “Mr. Chu, please leave. There will be no cooperation between us, now or ever.”

With that, she turned away and walked back into her company, leaving Chu Xiaotian stunned. He had come with high hopes but was thrown into the depths of despair. Every attempt to win her over ended in failure.

“Pathetic. Why do you even bother?” Zheng Feifan’s voice dripped with disdain. “You’ve seen our CEO. Now, it’s time for you to leave.”

His mockery stung. Chu Xiaotian, already at his breaking point, snapped. When he saw it was Zheng Feifan—the same man who had humiliated him earlier—his rage exploded.

“Who do you think you are? Just a pathetic security guard, talking like you’re somebody. What right do you have to insult me? I bet your father was a failure too, to raise trash like you!”

The mention of his father struck a nerve. Zheng Feifan’s eyes burned with intensity, the pain of his father’s past merging with his rage.

Sensing the incoming conflict, Li Xiao quietly stepped back. He had to admit, Chu Xiaotian really knew how to dig his own grave.

But Chu Xiaotian remained oblivious. He continued, sneering. “What’s the matter? Did I make you mad? What are you going to do about it?”

“Come on, hit me. If you feel like it, hit me in the face.” Chu Xiaotian taunted, leaning his head forward with a smirk as he saw Zheng Feifan’s clenched fists and murderous expression.

Seeing this, Zheng Feifan’s lips curled into a cold smile. “You said it yourself. I’ve never had such a request before.”

Without hesitation, he delivered a heavy slap to Chu Xiaotian’s face.

“What just happened?!”

The security guards behind Zheng Feifan were shocked.

Chu Xiaotian was the eldest son of the Chu family, which controlled a business empire worth tens of billions. Yet, here was someone daring to strike him. It was audacious.

Slap!

The sound echoed as Chu Xiaotian spun around, his head ringing from the impact. His cheek throbbed with a burning pain and began to swell. When he realized what had happened, fury consumed him. This was the first time he had ever been hit, especially in public. His father had never laid a finger on him.

Now, his dignity was in shambles.

With a feral expression, Chu Xiaotian lunged at Zheng Feifan, screaming, “How dare you hit me? I’ll kill you!”

But rage alone wasn’t enough. Chu Xiaotian was no match for Zheng Feifan, who had trained for years in the harsh underworld. As soon as he charged, Zheng Feifan punched him squarely, breaking his nose. Blood splattered everywhere.

Zheng Feifan was already on edge, having gone two nights without sleep and reeling from seeing Xiao Wanling with Xu Hao. His frustration had reached a boiling point. Chu Xiaotian’s provocation was the final straw.

Seizing the moment, Zheng Feifan moved in and unleashed a series of punches and kicks on Chu Xiaotian, venting all his pent-up rage. Though he controlled his strength enough to avoid lethal harm, Chu Xiaotian was left bruised and battered, barely conscious.

After finishing with Chu Xiaotian, Zheng Feifan turned his attention to Li Xiao, who had tried to hide in the crowd.

This guy had been happily mocking him earlier…

“No… not me!” Li Xiao panicked, realizing he was next. He had hoped staying out of sight would protect him.

Unfortunately, it didn’t.

Li Xiao was given a severe beating he couldn’t escape.

In a high-end hospital ward—

Two patients lay side by side, wrapped in bandages from head to toe. Both looked miserable.

Li Xiao deeply regretted everything. If he had known the protagonist was this ruthless, he would have changed the plot entirely and convinced Chu Xiaotian not to seek out Lin Chuqing. This beating was beyond painful. Every inch of him hurt, and it felt like his body was falling apart. Even so, he fared slightly better than Chu Xiaotian, who remained unconscious.

When Chu Xiong, the head of the Chu family, arrived at the hospital and saw his badly injured son and Li Xiao, his fury erupted. Without hesitation, he mobilized the family’s vast resources to crush Qingtian Electronics Co., Ltd.

Meanwhile, at the Xu Family residence—

Xu Hao sipped tea on the sofa, reading through updates from his subordinates about the confrontation at Qingtian Electronics.

He now had a clearer picture of the protagonist’s tendency to act aggressively and without hesitation. With Lin Chuqing now at odds with the Chu family, and Zheng Feifan sure to support her, Xu Hao saw an opportunity.

Could he profit from this conflict?

If the Chu Group could be swallowed up entirely, it would be an incredible win. Deep in thought, he considered his next move.

Not far away—

Xu Feiyan, dressed in a JK school uniform, poured tea for Xu Hao with a resentful glare. She had lost another competition to Xu Hao that day. Unlike before, he had defeated her fairly, without using underhanded tricks. Though the match was close, he still emerged victorious. It infuriated her that he was only slightly better, yet she was forced to wear such a humiliating outfit as punishment.

She despised it. She was destined to be a queen, not some playful girl in a school uniform.

The whole situation made her angrier. It was her sister, Xu Huayi, who had suggested the bet. At first, Xu Feiyan had refused, but Xu Huayi’s provocations—and Xu Hao’s teasing—had pushed her over the edge. Determined to reclaim her pride, she agreed.

She gave it her all but still lost by a narrow margin.

Xu Hao, as always, enjoyed giving her just enough hope to keep her fighting so he could continue breaking her pride.

Reluctantly fulfilling her punishment, Xu Feiyan realized she had no JK uniform at all. Xu Huayi gleefully bought several sets for her.

“Just wait,” Xu Feiyan thought darkly. “When my little sister comes back from school, I’ll deal with her.”

Ding! Ding! Ding!

The sudden ringing of her phone interrupted her thoughts. She glanced at the group video call notification and hesitated. Wearing this outfit, there was no way she could let her sisters see her like this.

Without a second thought, she moved to decline the call…
