Chapter 91:
Chapter 91: Foot Washing Service by His Daughter! A Strategy Plan:
The four sisters had spent the entire afternoon shopping and returned with bags full of various items. Among their purchases were gifts for Xu Hao and Xiao Wanling, with each receiving two gifts.
However, Xu Feiyan chose not to buy anything for Xu Hao.
Watching her three sisters excitedly showing off their gifts to Xu Hao, she couldn’t help but sneer.
She couldn’t understand how Xu Hao had managed to fool them so thoroughly.
During their shopping trip, when the topic of buying gifts for Xu Hao had come up, the three sisters had sung his praises. But Xu Feiyan remained firm: “I’d rather die, be left out in the cold, or jump off a mountain than buy anything for Xu Hao.”
Xu Hao cast a casual glance at his fifth daughter. It didn’t matter to him if she distanced herself now; there would come a day when she’d regret it. Her third sister was already a prime example.
While the sisters prepared dinner, they waited for Su Wanqiu to return so they could eat together.
As Xiao Wanling was about to leave, Xu Hao raised an eyebrow, giving her a knowing wink. The moment was ripe for him to proceed further. Xiao Wanling, who had been uncharacteristically forward that day, blushed at the reminder of their plans.
“Uncle Xu, don’t worry. I’ll be back tomorrow night.” She whispered shyly before quickly leaving the Xu residence, her heart pounding with anticipation as she drove home.
…
Before bedtime, under the watchful eyes of Xu Shiqing and Xu Huayi, Xu Feiyan reluctantly brought a basin of warm water to wash Xu Hao’s feet. She placed the basin in front of Xu Hao, who was seated comfortably on the sofa, and stood there, hesitating. The thought of washing someone’s feet—especially Xu Hao’s—was humiliating. She had always prided herself on being above such things. But the bet she had made left her with no choice.
Ironically, she had laughed at her third sister Xu Hongzhuang the previous day for doing the same task. Now, it was her turn. The two younger sisters, watching closely, would not let her back out without labeling her a cheater.
With a sigh, Xu Feiyan stood there motionless.
“What are you doing just standing there? You can’t wash someone’s feet while standing up,” Xu Huayi teased, unable to hold back her laughter.
Xu Feiyan shot a glare at her sister. She had never stooped to this level of humility before. But there was no way out now. Reluctantly, she squatted down, staring at the basin of warm water and waiting for Xu Hao to place his feet in. To her dismay, he didn’t move.
[Ding! Xu Feiyan feels resentful. Emotional points +852…]
Xu Hao watched her with a smile, relishing the moment. This was part of his plan to break her arrogance, step by step. Watching her reluctance and internal struggle was almost amusing.
“Are you going to start or what?” he asked casually.
Finally, Xu Hao placed his feet in the basin.
“Fifth sister, you’re doing it wrong. You’re supposed to help Dad with his feet,” Xu Shiqing said with a smirk.
“Exactly,” added Xu Huayi. “We do this for Dad all the time.”
The corners of Xu Feiyan’s mouth twitched in disbelief, but she had no choice but to comply. She reached out, took off Xu Hao’s slippers, and placed his feet gently in the warm water, beginning the task. Her sisters, meanwhile, continued to offer “helpful” tips.
“Fifth sister, don’t just sit there. Washing feet requires skill and focus,” Xu Shiqing said with mock seriousness.
“Yeah, if you don’t do it right, how will Dad feel relaxed?” added Xu Huayi.
With every passing moment, Xu Feiyan’s irritation grew. She silently vowed to teach her sisters a lesson later. Eventually, after what felt like an eternity, she finished washing Xu Hao’s feet. For her, the ten-minute ordeal felt like it had lasted a decade. Seeing Xu Hao’s content expression made her blood boil.
One day, when she won, she’d make him wash her feet. Imagining the mighty billionaire CEO kneeling before her was enough to make her chuckle inwardly. But her daydreaming was interrupted when Xu Hao gently patted her head.
“Not bad for your first time, Feiyan. Keep it up,” he said with a smile.
She glared at him, teeth clenched, but said nothing.
…
Early the next morning.
Ji Yunshu had to leave for work due to the distance from her home to the company. As she walked, a smile occasionally appeared on her face.
Since joining the Xu Group, she found her days fulfilling. Xu Hao’s words of encouragement always motivated her. She often thought, “I must live up to Mr. Xu’s expectations.”
The company’s atmosphere was welcoming, with no signs of senior employees mistreating newcomers. She even made a friend—a young department manager close to her age. While others had called her the school beauty, she felt her new friend, Xia Qingge, was no less impressive. Xia Qingge possessed a unique charm that Li Yunshu admired.
Though cautious and reserved, Li Yunshu initially found it difficult to connect with Xia Qingge. But that changed when Xia Qingge started talking about Xu Hao.
From that moment, Li Yunshu’s interest grew rapidly.
Xia Qingge continued to praise Xu Hao multiple times, and Li Yunshu nodded along, occasionally agreeing. This quickly brought the two of them closer as friends.
However, Li Yunshu couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off about Xia Qingge. She couldn’t put her finger on it, but there was a certain look in Xia Qingge’s eyes whenever she mentioned Xu Hao—something more than just admiration.
As Li Yunshu walked, deep in thought, a familiar voice rang out, high-pitched and mocking.
“Heh… Isn’t this the famous campus beauty, Li Yunshu?”
Li Yunshu stopped and turned to see Xu Fangfei approaching.
Dressed in a stylish JK uniform that accentuated her curves, Xu Fangfei exuded youthful energy. Her flawless, melon-shaped face was lightly made up, making her look just as striking as Li Yunshu. But her expression was far from pleasant—it was one of arrogance and disdain.
Following closely behind her was a tall, handsome young man with a devoted gaze fixed on Xu Fangfei.
This man was Chen Dong, a senior and president of the student council. Though many girls pursued him, he paid no attention to them, finding them unremarkable. From the moment he laid eyes on Xu Fangfei as a freshman, he was captivated and vowed to win her over.
Throughout college, he relentlessly pursued her, even as other admirers shifted their attention to Li Yunshu after she transferred in and became the new campus beauty. Despite Xu Fangfei’s numerous admirers moving on, Chen Dong remained unwavering.
His devotion extended beyond harmless admiration—he used his influence to tarnish Li Yunshu’s reputation on campus forums, all to please Xu Fangfei. Unfortunately for him, Xu Fangfei never reciprocated his feelings. He spent three years as an undergraduate and another year as a graduate student chasing after her, with nothing to show for it. Even his public declaration of love at graduation, in front of the entire school, ended in a brutal rejection.
Heartbroken, Chen Dong spent months in a haze of alcohol and despair.
Just as he was ready to give up, Xu Fangfei summoned him, reigniting his hope. But instead of professing love, she asked him to help teach Li Yunshu a lesson. Though disappointed, he agreed, still clinging to the slim chance she might finally accept him.
Seeing Xu Fangfei’s hostile approach, Li Yunshu braced herself, her expression tense.
“What do you want?” she demanded.
Xu Fangfei sneered, as if she’d heard something amusing.
“Do you really have the nerve to ask? If it weren’t for you, I’d have gotten that job at the Xu Group!”
“We both had interviews. It’s not my fault you weren’t chosen.” Li Yunshu replied firmly, frowning. Despite not being naturally outgoing, she was no pushover. Her strength had been tested many times, from childhood struggles to college challenges.
Xu Fangfei’s eyes flashed with disdain.
“Don’t play innocent. You pretended to be some vulnerable, pitiable girl to win over Mr. Xu.”
“I wasn’t pretending,” Li Yunshu retorted, her face flushing with anger. She knew Xu Fangfei had tried to manipulate the interview process by colluding with the interviewer. It was unfair from the start, but Xu Fangfei now twisted the narrative to paint herself as the victim.
“Ha! Blushing out of guilt, are we? Your lies are pathetic.” Xu Fangfei sneered.
Realizing it was pointless to argue, Li Yunshu steadied herself. This conversation would go nowhere—Xu Fangfei’s mind was set, and no explanation would change it.
“What do you want?” she asked again, her voice calm.
“Revenge, of course,” Xu Fangfei said with a cold smile. “You stole my job, so I’m going to make you pay.”
Li Yunshu’s heart raced. She took a step back, fear creeping in.
“This is illegal. We live in a lawful society,” she warned.
“So what? Call the police, then. I’m not stopping you,” Xu Fangfei replied dismissively. She turned to Chen Dong.
“Chen Dong, slap her. Make sure there’s a nice, big handprint on her face. Let’s see how she explains that at work.”
Chen Dong hesitated. He had done many questionable things for Xu Fangfei, but hitting a woman crossed a line. Yet, he couldn’t bear to see her displeased. Resigned, he began walking toward Li Yunshu.
Panic set in, and Li Yunshu instinctively stepped back.
“What are you doing?” she cried, her voice trembling.
At this moment, a familiar voice cut through the tension, warm and reassuring.
“What’s going on here?”
Relief washed over Li Yunshu. She turned and saw Xu Hao approaching.
Without hesitation, she ran to him, tears brimming in her eyes. At this terrifying moment, she had feared being humiliated. Now, with Xu Hao here, she felt safe.
“Mr. Xu,” she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. If not for the respect she had for him, she would have thrown herself into his arms.
Xu Hao’s face darkened as he listened to Li Yunshu recount what had happened. He gently touched her head.
“Don’t worry. I’m here. No one will bully you while you work at the Xu Group.” He said softly. His words and smile were warm and reassuring.
He took Li Yunshu’s hand and walked confidently toward Xu Fangfei. Li Yunshu’s heart raced. The feeling of Xu Hao’s hand in hers and his comforting touch left her blushing and dazed.
