Chapter 43:

Chapter 43: Xu Hao: Tell Old Mo I Want to Eat Fish:

In the following days, whenever Xu Hao had free time, he taught his two daughters painting and calligraphy personally.

Interestingly, after seeing Xu Hao’s calligraphy again, Xu Huayi also coquettishly asked him to teach her. She even made a bet with her sister to see who could learn faster and better. The sisters often quarreled incessantly over Xu Hao’s attention.

Ring… Ring… Ring…

While Xu Hao was teaching Xu Huayi calligraphy, the phone rang. It was Li Kun. Xu Hao went to the side to take the call.

“Mr. Xu, Director Zheng is here at the company and wants to see you…”

Xu Hao frowned slightly.

Zheng Xuelin was now the only other director left in the Xu Group besides him. The shares held by the other two directors had already been bought back by him.

Li Ping’s shares were acquired through a scheme involving her son and a kidnapping. The money ended up in another account overseas, a classic case of getting something for nothing. Lu Qinghong’s shares were transferred earlier this morning.

Lu Qinghong’s real estate company had been involved in scandal recently, with numerous allegations coming to light. There was a flood of public complaints, and government investigation and bank debt collectors were pushing his company to the brink of bankruptcy, possibly leading to debt and prison time. To repay the loans, Lu Qinghong had no choice but to sell his shares in Xu Group.

Interestingly, the negative news about Lu Qinghong’s company contrasted sharply with the excellent reputation of Xu Group, inadvertently serving as free advertising. This led to greater visibility for Xu Group, making it the first choice for homebuyers.

Consequently, the company’s performance was poised for a significant surge.

This was just a minor episode. After dealing with the two shareholders, the last one had come in person…

Something didn’t feel right. Could he have discovered something?

Xu Hao’s eyes flashed. “Treat him well, I’ll be right over…”

He told his daughters he had to go and then drove to Xu Group.

(In the VIP guest room)

Xu Hao saw the slightly aged Zheng Xuelin, who was in his fifties.

Xu Hao greeted him warmly: “Brother Zheng, if you wanted to see me, a call would have been enough. I would have sent someone to pick you up…” He sat down and started pouring tea from the pot in front of him. “Let’s have some tea first, and then we can talk about whatever it is.”

“No need for tea. Let’s talk about transferring the shares…” Zheng Xuelin looked deeply at him and spoke in a serious tone.

Xu Hao sensed something was off from his tone but maintained a look of confusion. “What shares transfer?”

Zheng Xuelin sneered, his eyes filled with mockery. “Don’t play dumb, Xu Hao. Qinghong and the others have transferred theirs, so I might as well do it too. Otherwise, I’m afraid I’ll end up like them…”

He had been closely following the events at Lu Qinghong’s company for several days. They were good friends and often had tea together, so he knew his company well.

The allegations online were false. After Lu Qinghong called him this morning, lamenting about his impending bankruptcy and potential legal troubles, he decided to sell his shares in Xu Group to cover some of his debts.

Initially, this call seemed normal, just a friend venting his troubles. But Zheng Xuelin, being highly cautious, realized something after hanging up. In the chain of events, who would benefit from Lu Qinghong’s downfall?

Xu Group’s excellent reputation, coupled with the scandals, meant their performance would soar. Remembering that Lu Qinghong intended to sell his shares to Xu Hao and that Xu Hao had previously offered double the market price for their shares, everything clicked into place for Zheng Xuelin.

After confirming with Li Ping that she had transferred her shares to Xu Hao to save her son, Zheng Xuelin concluded that Xu Hao wasn’t as gentle and amiable as he seemed.

Xu Hao was the mastermind behind it all. He wanted to reclaim all the shares.

Zheng Xuelin, fearing he was next, decided to sell his shares and leave.

“Brother Zheng, I don’t understand why you’re so upset, but if you want to transfer the shares, I’m happy to oblige…” Xu Hao maintained a look of helplessness while understanding everything.

He instructed his secretary to complete the transfer procedures. After completing the paperwork and receiving the money, Zheng Xuelin hurriedly left without a word of farewell.

Xu Hao stood by the guest room’s floor-to-ceiling window, watching the car disappear. His face was expressionless. He turned to Li Kun standing beside him and spoke in a cold, emotionless tone, “Tell Old Mo I want to eat fish…”

Zheng Xuelin only dared to come to the company because he realized Xu Hao’s goal was to reclaim the shares, not to harm the other shareholders. He believed he would be safe after handing over the shares.

Had he known Xu Hao’s true nature, he might have fled overnight. Unfortunately, there was no cure for regret in this world…
