Chapter 5: The Origin of Everything - Part 2

Imran: So… who exactly is he?

(Imran points at Elias.)

Samir: He appears to be one of the Ten Sorcerers, the ones known as the most powerful in all of history.

They're the ones who caused the Ten-Day War nearly 300 years ago.

Everyone is stunned.

All: "Three hundred years ago?!"

Riyad: You kids really know nothing…

The Ten-Day War was a turning point in the history of magic and the Peninsula.

Something strange happened during that war…

All the sorcerers disappeared.

No one knows how or what exactly occurred, but after that, everyone grew weaker.

Tribes started to fall apart. Chaos took over.

Samir: I believe some of them were defeated, and those who won must've cast a curse on the others.

(Elias is listening from a short distance.)

Elias: It seems that not even your elder knows what truly happened.

Samir: So, will you tell us?

Elias: I wish I knew...

(Everyone is shocked. They all stare at Elias — how could he not know, when he was part of that war?)

Elias: You can't even imagine how that war went down…

It was complete chaos.

(Elias turns toward them as the wind lifts his hair. The trees behind him sway. Everyone watches in awe.)

Elias: It was a massacre — a massacre of magic.

Everyone was strong…

But we, the Ten, were the strongest of them all.

Samir: Where are the rest of the Ten?

Elias: I don't know.

And even if I did — I wouldn't tell you.

(Suddenly, the sound of an army marching reaches their ears.)

Riyad rushes off toward the sound to investigate, then quickly returns:

Riyad: It's the Warriors of Darkness.

They're all over this area…

We need to move. Now.

(They all mount their horses and ride swiftly, continuing their journey toward Basra. Hours and days pass...)

They finally reach Basra.
