Ashen Dragon

Chapter 300: Clear Skies After the Rain (Part 2)

"What?"

Logan finally snapped out of his daze, his face revealing horror. He struggled to lift that Dragonhead Scepter, a dark Light Shield floating before him.

But in the next moment, three attacks from different directions followed each other almost simultaneously striking this Cult Leader, catching him off guard.

With the sound of glass shattering, Mantou's spear carrying a terrifying dive force instantly pierced through the black shield before him, targeting his mask-covered face.

Just a cracking sound was heard, and the Dragon Beast mask suddenly broke, exposing that scaly and ugly face, yet the spear penetrated through the scales on his face.

Mantou's hand gave a fierce twitch, the spearhead penetrating blood and flesh, stabbing into the cultist's skull.

"Ah——"

The piercing, hoarse wail echoed in the sky, the bloodied spearhead piercing through the back of his head.

In an instant, shattered scales flew, brain matter splattered, blood sprayed, all sorts of white and red, wet items splashed across Mantou's face.

"Give me your life!"

Meanwhile, Mighty Heavenly Dragon also came before him, its fist larger than a claypot wrapped in astral wind, striking forth, instantly penetrated Logan's chest, shattering his chest and heart within, sending countless bloody chunks flying backward.

But in the next moment, the vertical pupil in the Dragonhead Scepter emitted a shocking light, countless black fog spewed from the dragon's mouth, converging on Logan's broken body, the flesh churning, rapidly mending the body. For a smoother reading experience, visit MVLEMPYR.

Logan's ferocious soul floated in mid-air, emitting a venomous shriek: "Lowly mortals! His Majesty Tiamat values me, you can never kill me!"

Yet that arrow whistled over, brushing past Mantou's shoulder, shooting straight into Logan's brow.

In an instant, the arrowhead suddenly exploded, lightning flashed, electric arcs crackled, the dazzling lightning seemed to engulf everything around.

In the sky, dark clouds rolled, as if brewing some terrifying power.

And Logan's soul in mid-air also showed despair, fear, fleeing madly, screaming: "No, no——"

"Boom!"

The thunderous sound echoed the sky, a lightning bolt as thick as a bowl descended from the sky, instantly annihilating Logan's body and soul.

Mantou's face was charred, his hair turned into explosive curls, he angrily turned his head towards the distance: "Xin Dog, are you human——robbing a bounty like this is unconscionable!"

Mighty Heavenly Dragon was relieved as he touched his bald head, thinking to himself thankfully he had no hair, unlike Mantou, so disheveled.

"Logan is dead!"

"In the name of Tiamat, Lord Logan was killed by those traitors!"

The Dragon Worship Cult servant monks were panicked, under the joint attacks of players and Green Valley Town's soldiers, they were already struggling to cope, unable to withstand more, upon learning of Logan's death, they further fell into rout.

Around the Sword Bay Region, there are several well-known cities such as Waterdeep City, Elturel, Neverwinter City, and so on. Waterdeep City is built on the old site of the Elf Empire Ilfaen's capital - Erin Vier, with numerous Divine temples. Miracle Temple is the grandest Magic Goddess Temple in the game, featuring ornate high towers embedded with colorful paintings and magical decorations, full of luxurious Baroque style, while Neverwinter City leans more towards Gothic architecture, being the earliest human settlement evolved over a century in Aegostor, where the story's Main City, Bod Gate, is the largest, most prosperous trade city-state in Sword Bay Region, with a mix from Nobles to Commoner thieves, regarded by adventurers as "a hotbed of intrigue." Bod Gate's name comes from a Hero, Grey Port adventurer Bodlan, who once explored beyond the Sword Sea's mainland, returned to Grey Port with wealth, leading a team to build a city. According to residents' status, Bod Gate is divided into the Nobles' Upper City and the Commoner's Lower District, with the Outer City District sprawling around Chenyi Mountain, where the gate separating Upper and Lower City called Bod Gate, naming the entire city after it, serving as a monument to the city's founder Bodlan. Currently, Bod Gate is governed by a four-person council, all are Great Dukes, one being the leader of the council, if votes are tied, decision rests with Grand Duke Elder Ravenclaw, Upper City's security is managed by elite class official police Guard, other areas by a mercenary group called "Flaming Fist," whose highest leader is also Grand Duke Elder Ravenclaw, Flaming Fist headquartered at Bodlan Sea Tower, Bod Gate's strongest fortress against sea invasion. As a crescent encircling Bod Gate's economic lifeline – Gray Harbor, daily hundreds of merchant ships come and go, bringing Gold Coin, and also greed and crime. Upper City, situated at a higher elevation, composed of Castle District, Temple District, Manoburn District, and Wide Alley District, with numerous religious buildings, Miracle Hall, and Supreme Miracle House, all centered around God of Craft Gund's Church at Bod Gate, Miracle Hall showcases Gund's great inventions, Supreme Miracle House serves a workshop function as well. Lower District mostly has stone houses, composed of six blocks: Sea Tower District, Blonrich District, Steep District, Crowded Side District, East Road District, Branpton District, middle class typically reside near Blonrich District adjacent to Upper City's nobility, while East Road District near Outer District's Stone Lizard Gate is more chaotic, boasts many lively bars and cheap hotels, Sea Tower District is where Flaming Fist mercenary corps stationed, headquarter Bodlan Sea Tower built on the largest rocky offshore island near Sea Tower District, Branpton District and Steep District are relatively rundown, sailor and laborer communities. Outer City District spreading along Chongsar River, crowded with temporary buildings and shanties, landmark a stone bridge spanning Chongsar River named Flying Dragon Crossroad, bustling with vendors, even widened with planks, additional structures built atop, law and Order don't exist here, even Flaming Fist mercenary corps' protection scope is very limited, many unable to settle in the city, poor or criminals gather here. Sewer vault's moss under dim phosphorescent lamps emits a ghostly green, murky sewage overflows boot soles, each step stirs sticky "glurps." Purple-black slime oozes from wall cracks, like veins converging the drain — it is the unique nerve corrosive substance in the Spirit Sucking Monster Nest, inhaling by Humans causes auditory hallucinations, like countless tiny tendrils squirming within ear canals. Suddenly, within the fractured iron pipe comes the sound of bone misalignment "clack," as if something is twisting through narrow spaces. Spirit-sucking monster bursts from underwater, pallid humanoid figure enshrouded with decay substance, octopus-like head tendrils wildly vibrating, releasing visible purple Mind Shock Wave. Foremost Guard's helmet collapsed, eyeballs burst into blood mist under intracranial pressure increase; second person pierced before a scream, tendrils stabbing ear canal, spine marionette-like withdrawn from the shell; sole survivor staggered retreating, firearm misfired boom however was utterly drowned by spirit-sucking monster's collective sub-frequency shrill. Clearly, these spirit-sucking monsters have undergone tactical training. Two feint creatures tendrils slap water surface, stirring corrosive liquid mist barriers obscuring view; third one dangled from the ceiling, sucker clung to Guard's skull, tendrils precisely stabbed foramen magnum — not immediate death, but puppet-like forced captive turned, trembling hands loaded comrades' firearm. Now, fourth spirit-sucking monster knuckles' bone blades are dissecting fallen Guard's thoracic cavity, extracting warm liver stuffing mouthpiece, pale yellow digestive fluid drips from lower jaw, etching threads of greenish smoke upon ground.
