Arranged Marriage with Satoru Gojo - Jujutsu Kaisen

Chapter 10: Dressing up for the wedding:

A sharp clap jolted you awake, pulling you from the remnants of the dream. You blinked, disoriented, to see Shoko standing beside your bed, arms crossed and smirking. "Finally. You've got a wedding to get ready for, and you're over here wrestling your nightmares."

Your heart raced, and your mind struggled to catch up with the words. "Wait, this is my wedding day?" you exclaimed, sitting up in a rush. The realization hit you like a slap, and you stared at Shoko, wide-eyed. She grinned, clearly enjoying your reaction. "Yep, surprise," she said with a shrug. "Satoru had no idea either, but I heard he's getting ready too. It was all arranged by his parents, your mother, I and a few of his close friends. They decided to pull it off without telling you. Oh right, your best friend was the wedding planner." The weight of her words sank in, and you slowly started to calm down as you processed the details. "I didn't... I didn't even know," you whispered, the shock still lingering in your chest.

You mumbled an apology and dragged yourself out of bed, the unease from the dream weighing heavily on you. Shoko tossed a dress onto the chair. "Get moving. Satoru's not exactly the patient type." As you dressed, the room filled with the sound of your mother's voice, her excitement grating on your already frazzled nerves.

You tugged at the fabric of the wedding dress, struggling to pull it over your head. The tightness of the bodice made it feel like the fabric was suffocating you, each movement a battle against the constricting seams. You took a deep breath, trying to steady your shaking hands, but the dress seemed to mock your efforts, refusing to fit comfortably. The laces dug into your back, and you could feel the panic rising as the pressure of the day and the dream continued to swirl in your mind. Despite your best attempts, you couldn't shake the feeling that something was off, like you were trying to force yourself into a role you weren't meant for.

"You'll look stunning, sweetheart," she said, clapping her hands together. "Satoru is such a catch! I always knew you'd marry well." You forced a smile, but every word felt like a jab, deepening the pit in your stomach.

A sudden unease washed over you. You'd never wanted to marry Satoru, but there had never been a choice—this was the path laid out for you. Yet now, standing on the brink of it, the thought of tying your life to his felt unbearable. Was this truly the only way forward? You shook the doubt aside; it didn't matter what you wanted. "I thought you loved him," you whispered to yourself in your unspoken thoughts.

When the makeup artist arrived, things only got worse. The foundation was too pale, the blush too harsh, the eyeshadow clashing with the lipstick in a way that made you look like a poorly painted doll. Shoko raised an eyebrow but said nothing, and your mother gushed about how "unique" it looked.

Staring at your reflection, you barely recognized yourself. The fake smile you plastered on felt heavier than ever. The dream's warning echoed in your mind, but with every passing second, the reality of walking down that aisle loomed closer.

The makeup artist, with sharp features and a cold look in her eyes, seemed almost pleased with the disaster she'd created. The mismatched colors on your face looked intentional, and her faint, knowing smirk as she finished only fueled your suspicion. Something felt off—like she was sabotaging your look on purpose. Why would she do this? The thought lingered, unsettling you even more.

Shoko frowned as she took in your reflection. "I don't know, it looks a bit much for a wedding. The colors clash, and it's kind of harsh." Before she could say more, the makeup artist quickly interrupted, a proud smile on her face. "Oh, I assure you, this look is perfect for today. It's bold and modern, and the contrast highlights the features beautifully. The blush defines the cheekbones, the eyeshadow makes the eyes pop, and the lipstick ties it all together. This is the latest trend in bridal makeup," she added, almost as if daring anyone to disagree.

Your mother and Satoru's mother both chimed in, their voices filled with approval. "It's so bold and unique!" your mother exclaimed, clapping her hands together. "It really stands out, just like you, darling." Satoru's mother nodded eagerly, adding, "I agree, it's modern and sophisticated. You're going to turn heads with this look. It's the perfect statement for a wedding." They both smiled at the makeup artist, clearly impressed, leaving you feeling even more uncomfortable as their praise echoed in your ears.
