Aria Of The Cursed Dragon

Chapter 13: 13. The Aria X

After confirming their relationship Siegfried and Brynhildr decided to get married as they held a small wedding ceremony amongst themselves and forged their bond in love.

Both of them did not know what the future held for them but they were willing to see what the future held for them.

Siegfried felt like he was forgetting someone, but when he thought of them he felt she wouldn't mind if he didn't do such a small thing as an invitation to his wedding.

She had far more important things to do than bother about such a trivial matter.

He didn't know he would get in trouble later for his decision.....

....

In what seemed like a very magnificent throne room an aged figure sat on a throne with his eyes closed. He had an aura of a wise person around him.

Suddenly his one functioning eye opened reflecting a bit of astonishment and recognition.

Odin closed his eyes again as he touched his eyepatch covering his eyes which he had sacrificed for knowledge.

He was wise but he was also prideful to the point he was arrogant.

With his insight, he was able to derive that the prophecy wouldn't be completed or come to fruition. He didn't know why and this hurt his pride.

He was Odin, he was not only renowned for his wisdom but he was also a god of war.

His pride had blinded him to the point that he ignored his instincts and the telltale signs that he was lunging head-first into something unknown.

He was a cautious person but maybe being at the top had dulled his senses.

Thus Odin tried to glimpse into the threads of fate surrounding Brynhildr and Siegfried but as he tried to glimpse into Siegfried he felt a feeling of death.

He felt like he was being crushed by an invisible hand, Odin could only glimpse purplish black slitted eyes that were ominous.

"Argh!" Odin screamed in pain when he felt a searing pain like none he had ever experienced.

He felt his blood pouring down his face and his vision was dark.

He could only sit there and pant as his fingers still trembled due to the fear.

Odin didn't even bother checking as he knew he was blind in his right eye and no amount of healing would help him. His soul itself had been attacked.

He would never be able to see the light ever again, it did hinder him a lot but luckily his crows could show him the world.

At least that's what Odin thought, when he tried to access the vision of his crows he only saw darkness.

An outburst of power erupted from him as his body trembled in fury, rage, indignation, fear and many other negative emotions.

His bloodied face looked like that of a demon as he grits his teeth until his gums bled.

Odin has been robbed of 'sight' and he would never see the light again....

....

He had been paying attention to Brynhildr from the moment Siegfried saved her and he had always believed both of their meeting would only end in ruin, this was the future he prophesied.

But finding out his prophecy was wrong rubbed Odin's pride the wrong away thus prompting him to try and glimpse into the threads of fate even when he had an understanding that something unnerving was at play.

He charged headfirst into the abyss like a moron and ended up being crippled.

He had forgotten .... no maybe he knew but in his hubris, he had ignored it and now has to pay the price of losing his vision forever.

When you gaze into the Abyss..... The Abyss gazes back...

.....

" My Sieg has grown up.... " A purple-haired woman whispered as her red eyes gazed at the white flower she held in her palm.

She was lying on the soft patch of grass in an enchanting meadow as the constant soothing gurgling of spring water could be heard.

Her lustrous hair was sprawled out behind her further enhancing her enchanting visage.

With her beautiful face, lustrous purple hair and ruby-red eyes, she was nothing short of a goddess.

The frosty look on her face that made her unapproachable only added a touch of desirability to her.

But the cold look on her face melted when she gazed at the white flower that was cradled in her palms, she turned on her side and brought the flower closer to her and stroked its petals tenderly.

Her lips curved up a bit into a barely unnoticeable smile but it vanished as soon as it appeared. Her red eyes darkened a bit as she continued stroking the flower gently.

Frost started gathering on the petals as it spread all over the flower and it shattered into particles before being swept away by the wind.

But her gaze didn't waver as she seemingly stared at her palm in a daze.....

.....

It was early morning and Brynhildr was still asleep so Seigfried decided to take a bath by cleaning himself in the nearby waterfall.

He took off his clothes and ventured into the deeper part of the waters as half of his body was submerged.

Siegfried felt as if a huge weight was taken off his shoulders but still he felt a bit uneasy about the future.

As Siegfried was deep in his thoughts, a familiar pair of arms embraced him from behind as he felt a warm body press against his back.

"Sieg...."
