Chapter 395: CHAPTER 394 - The Mechanical Legion Prepares
With Galio keeping the scouts occupied, Li Lin's attention was fully diverted to the battlefield where the angel sisters clashed.
Under the "Data Mind" interface, their combat power surged past 100, entering an unobservable state as they unleashed their full magical might.
Of course, the battles were far more intense than the one between Nasus and Rek'Sai—each blink of an eye was multiple rounds of supersonic collisions.
To avoid the armor being damaged by the energy leaks, Li Lin continuously activated energy shields, remaining on the outskirts of the battlefield, observing from a distance.
The blade in Kayle's hand was called "Virtue," actually a combined name for her Justice Sword and the Shadow Sword. The half-blade she wielded was called "Li," while the one that originally belonged to Morgana was named "Yi."
With "Virtue" to suppress Morgana, combined with Kayle's long-established divine ascension having reached the third stage over the centuries, Morgana, who was attempting to sever her own wings, showed no signs of improvement in her power.
Li Lin noticed that Morgana, who had once been evenly matched with Kayle, was gradually losing ground under her fierce assault and was beginning to fall behind.
He couldn't let them continue like this; it was time to find an opportunity to intervene.
His brows furrowed as he pondered. Losing one of the angel sisters would significantly reduce humanity's fighting strength against the Void in the end.
Moreover, Morgana's extreme version of "Yi," her extreme humanity, could be dealt with. But if Kayle won, she could, like her counterpart from a parallel universe, cast aside humanity altogether and become an ultimate "Justice Aspect," representing "absolute justice."
Such a transformation would mean she would judge all evil with unrelenting fire, showing no mercy, completely standing against humanity.
If this happened, humanity would have one more divine adversary to face before the final battle.
This was not what Li Lin wanted to see.
"AI, summon the Mech Warriors," he thought to himself while quickly issuing orders. "How's the orbital status of the space-based laser satellite?"
[Master, our satellite has not been launched yet.]
Li Lin slapped his forehead, realizing it was only scheduled to launch in the early morning and would reach its designated orbit later.
"Forget the time and the risks. Fire it now!" he urged. "Against Kayle, just relying on the War Lords may not be enough to threaten her."
[As you wish.]
[The rocket has been ignited, and it is expected to place the Morning Star satellite into orbit in 74 minutes.]
[According to my calculations, the satellite will take 18 minutes to fully deploy and will need three days to adjust its orbit.]
[If you force the satellite beam into use prematurely, it could cause the satellite to deviate from its planned orbit, delaying the adjustment period to 14–25 days.]
About an hour and a half, then? Hopefully, Morgana can hold on.
"I understand," Li Lin muttered, frowning in thought. "By the way, get in touch with Professor Heimerdinger. Let him know I'm in a tight spot and might need the Gaboga... He shouldn't refuse me."
As he was giving instructions, the battle became even more intense.
At this moment, Kayle had already landed on the ground. Perhaps feeling that merely exchanging spells wouldn't grant her the upper hand, she began a close-quarters duel with Morgana.
With both hands tightly gripping the separated "Virtue," Kayle unleashed dozens of strikes with each heartbeat.
While Morgana didn't match Kayle in raw power and had fallen behind, she still managed to hold her ground thanks to the soul chains extending from her body and the protection of the Dark Shield. The two half-swords unleashed fiery waves of orange-red energy, sliding and piercing from different angles, while Morgana's agile chains continuously attempted to wrap around Kayle's sword, trying to wrest it from her grasp.
"Is this all your magic tricks?" Kayle sneered, rapidly opening more than ten teleportation portals around her.
Starfire blasts, capable of piercing divine bodies, shot through them. Morgana's face tightened as she quickly released her grip on Kayle's blade, her body flashing as she was forced backward.
She had learned from their past encounters that this fiery magic could track its target and had immense penetration power. Her Dark Shield could barely withstand it.
Now that Kayle's divine power had more than doubled, the starfire blasts were strong enough to pierce through the protection of the Dark Shield with ease.
Morgana gritted her teeth, first gathering dark magic energy and corrupted cold flames to weaken the starfire's impact. She then increased her Dark Shield's energy supply, barely nullifying the devastating starfire before it shattered.
"What did you do to mom's sword?!" she yelled angrily.
"I'm only doing what's necessary," Kayle replied, swinging her long sword and creating a sonic boom with a powerful wing flap. In an instant, she closed the distance with Morgana again.
"Give up, sister," her voice was cold as ice. "I've reached the stage of True Devotion. You can't defeat me."
"You have weaknesses too!" Morgana refused to concede.
Her Dark Chains tightly bound Kayle, but they were incinerated by the purification flames emanating from her body.
"I have no weaknesses."
With her body enveloped in holy golden light, Kayle seemed to be devouring the darkness, forcing Morgana to retreat. The battle gradually moved from the Underworld to the grand city of Demacia.
If the destruction from centuries ago, when the two sisters' battle devastated the city-state, were to repeat, the people of Demacia would surely lose faith in the Winged Guardian, and their reforms on magic would face even greater resistance.
As the saying goes, to end one conflict, one must inevitably plunge into another.
Now was the perfect moment for intervention!
"How's the mechanical army coming along?"
[I've assembled 10 mechanical battalions, a total of 1,500 Storm Airfighters and 1,200 Kog'Maw Battlefield Mechs.]
[The Storm Airfighters are currently shielding the Magic-Resistant Walls of Demacia from the energy waves created by the angel sisters' battle.]
[The Kog'Maw Mechs and War Lords are on standby in the uninhabited areas of the Demacian Plains, ready to execute your orders at any time.]
Li Lin took a deep breath. "Very well... Activate the Kog'Maw Mechs' precision strike mode. Target: Justice Angel Kayle."
