Arcane Drifters - Chapter 80: "The 7000Million Drill Fine!"

[Scene opens in the Drifter HQ courtyard.]

Voice:

"Hey, idiot Shen! What were you doing yesterday?"

Shen (calmly):

"Ah… yesterday, I ate food… a nice combination with curry and… nothing."

[Ryulga laughs.]

Suddenly, an angry voice shouts. It's Elder-1.

Elder-1:

"Hey orphan! Don't speak too much and act over-smart! You came here at 17 years old, and now you're acting very arrogantly!"

Shen (angrily):

"Orphan? How do you think I'm an orphan?"

[Tension rises as a fight breaks out between Shen and Elder-1.]

Shen uses Fire Demon Spell.

Elder-1 counters with Water Dragon Spell.

Suddenly, a magic force dispels both spells.

Voice (commanding):

"It was Ryulga!"

Ryulga (angrily):

"Hey Elder, shut up and let Shen go."

Shen (happily):

"Y-Yes, Commander! You even forgot to punish me. Thanks, Elder!"

Suddenly, Ryulga's voice returns.

Ryulga:

"And you still have to pay 600,000 Drills for the Arcane Drifter committee! And for the other damages… like fighting a god!"

Shen (shocked):

"How do you know about this?!"

Commander:

"Your fight and voice were seen and heard across the world. That's why you're getting this fine."

Shen (crying):

"Oh no!!"

Shen:

"Anyway, I will kill more Arcanes and earn money."

Commander:

"No, no, no! You must pay from your own money. Until then… you're suspended!"

[Later… Shen walks to the Headquarter's backyard.]

Eliz:

"Shen! How are you?"

Kenya:

"Yeah, you came?"

[Ruke is training with Lilia nearby.]

[Shen stays silent, then suddenly drops to his knees at Eliz's feet.]

Shen (begging):

"Eliz… please, please, I want some money."

Eliz:

"Shen… I don't have money."

[Suddenly, Shen vanishes.]

Eliz looks toward Kenya. Shen is at Kenya's feet.

Shen:

"Kenya, please…"

Kenya:

"Sorry, I don't have."

[Shen turns to go ask Ruke, but suddenly a voice interrupts.]

Voice:

"Sorry, we don't have!!"

Shen (irritated):

"Fine! Then I'll take money from the treasury!"

Eliz (angrily):

"What?! What?! What to tell now?!"

"You want money? Then work. Only then you'll get it."

Shen:

"Okay, okay, I'll work. But… how many days? I'll work hard. I'll pay the 500 million Drills."

Eliz (shocked):

"500 million Drills?! AHH!!"
