Chapter 19: Chapter 18 – Twilight Shedding

The morning began as usual—with me waking up alone. Reshia's day had ended… and now, it was Luna's turn.

I stepped out of the Terra Dome and spotted Sister Ann organizing the children, preparing for their journey to Astarte Kingdom. She had made her decision: to leave behind the church she was raised in and seek a new life with the children.

I was happy, but bittersweet emotions clung to me. That old church would be demolished, but something new would grow in its place.

After breakfast, they departed. My girls and I waved at the children, their laughter echoing back as they cheerfully waved goodbye.

With that, I turned my focus to today's task: Luna's date.

…But Luna was nowhere to be found.

I asked the others, but they all said she had left early.

Confused and concerned, I dressed properly and began searching for her. Using Blood Sense, I picked up her trail. It was faint—but there. I followed it through alleyways, twisting corners, across town.

Then I saw something strange on the ground—a piece of silver, glimmering skin.

"Is Luna… shedding?" I muttered aloud.

Shedding her skin alone was dangerous and exhausting. I had to find her—fast.

The trail led me beyond Toh Long Town… to Vista City, a neighboring city in Indrasia Kingdom known for its natural hot springs.

The scent of minerals filled the air, and the gentle steam painted the streets in a dreamy haze. It was beautiful. But I kept focused, following the trail to a local bathhouse.

"She's here," I whispered.

I went inside and asked if my girls could check on Luna in the women's bath.

"Lamia should be shedding in the wild. Not in my baths. Get lost." the owner snapped.

I clenched my fists but didn't start a fight. Instead, I stepped outside, worried. I needed another way.

---

Inside the bathhouse...

Luna sat alone in the hot spring, her silver scales flaking away. Her eyes were full of tears.

She scratched at herself with her claws, frustrated. Her tail splashed the water wildly.

"Why today…? Of all days…" she muttered in anguish. "I didn't want Master to see me like this…"

Just then, someone entered—the steam parted slightly.

A man. A smirk on his face.

"Hey babe," he said with a sleazy grin. "Something wrong?"

"Wha—!? Who are you!? This is the women's bath!"

But the man ignored her, lunging toward her.

Luna thrashed furiously, her tail slamming the water. But he still clung to her body.

Then—BOOM!

From above, I dove into the bathhouse, binding the pervert in dark tendrils using Chaos Magic as I landed.

"Don't touch her," I growled.

My girls rushed in with the guards. The owner and the pervert were dragged away to prison.

I approached the guards quietly. "Could you… let us use this bathhouse for a day?"

They exchanged looks… and nodded.

"Fine. But don't tell anyone we let you. Got it?"

"Got it."

---

Later that day…

My girls stood guard at the entrance, then moved to the men's side while Luna and I remained in the women's spring.

She apologized for running off without saying anything. I gave her a gentle scolding—then patted her head.

After washing myself, I joined her in the spring.

---

Meanwhile, at the men's side…

"So, Reshia," Aisha asked with a mischievous smirk. "How far did you and Master go?"

"I-I-It was j-just hugging…" Reshia stammered, face red.

"Ara~? That's all?" Yuki teased.

"Please calm down," Hilda sighed.

"Shut up!" Aisha and Yuki snapped in unison.

---

Back with Luna…

She sat with her tail wrapped around herself. I gently told her to wash her body thoroughly. She nodded and headed to the shower area. I followed.

I began washing her back. She purred softly. Then she turned and washed mine in return.

But when I started washing her front, her expression changed. Her body trembled slightly as soap traced along her soft belly and heavy chest. She said nothing—but her ears twitched nonstop.

I reached for a stubborn patch of skin near her shoulder. As I helped her peel it, she let out a gentle moan that startled me.

"…A-Are you okay?"

She nodded quickly, face blushing. Her scales sparkled with every layer that came off.

"I always thought no one would want me at my ugliest… but you looked for me anyway." She said.

"I was worried about you, Luna" I replied.

The last part left to shed was… her tail tip. A sacred place, especially for a lamia.

"I… want you to do it," she whispered, curling her tail around me.

I hesitated—but obeyed.

As I peeled the last of her silver skin, her body trembled. Our lips met—not just from passion, but understanding. She wasn't hiding anymore. And I wasn't holding back.

We held each other tightly under the falling steam. Her warmth, her scent—everything melted together. Seeing her like this… so fragile, so real… made me want to protect her more than ever before.

"Luna," I whispered, "will you take my surname?"

"I thought you'd never ask," she said softly. "Not just your name, Ares… I want all of you."

And with that… she became mine.

---

By dusk, we emerged from the bathhouse. Everyone's skin shimmered in the evening light.

Luna turned, leaned in, and kissed me deeply in front of everyone.

She quickly pulled back. "S-Sorry… I was just… grateful."

I smiled. "It's okay."

She showed me her newly shed scales—glittering like silver stars.

---

We spent the evening together. She asked about the Seven Heavenly Gods, so I read from my grimoire and explained the lore to her. She listened intently, eyes full of wonder.

We walked side by side, our arms wrapped together, talking, laughing.

I opened her status window.

That night, at the new inn, I entered our room to find a dazzling silver-scaled lamia curled on the bed, watching the night sky through the window.

I leaned against her. Without a word, I kissed her cheek.

Her tail wagged instantly. Her ears twitched.

She curled around me again and giggled. "Take responsibility, dear. All of it."

"I will," I whispered. "Just don't leave me, Luna."

"I won't. None of us will."

---

Meanwhile…

Aisha noticed someone suspicious near the inn—the same guard who had arrested the pervert earlier.

She followed him—and caught him peeping into couples' rooms.

"You again?" she yawned. "Caught you now. Try it again, and you'll be shedding teeth."

"H-HUH!?"

The guard fled the scene in a panic.

But before she left, Aisha accidentally peeked through my window—only to see Luna and I kissing.

She stood frozen.

"…Aisha?" the others asked.

No answer.

And so… Luna's day came to a close.

Tomorrow would be Hilda's.

The final date.
