Chapter 301: Driven to Become the Archvillain
"Woken up?"
Early in the morning, Lu Liang stood beside the bed getting dressed, noticing the slight tremble of Sakurada Miyuki's eyelashes on the bed.
Clearly, she had woken up, but she was pretending to be asleep.
Last night, he only took in one girl, and let Ota Ling take the other one away.
Lu Liang actually had no particular thoughts, at least not last night, but sometimes, playing along is unavoidable.
Because Ota Ling wanted him to have attachments in Tokyo, and also hoped to deepen their relationship by this means.
So Lu Liang chose the girl who looked somewhat like Nakamori Akina, and seemed to have a more compliant personality.
Sakurada Miyuki opened her eyes, looking timid, and spoke in fluent English, "Sir, are you leaving?"
"I'm leaving tomorrow," Lu Liang shook his head slightly, but then the doorbell rang and he walked out of the bedroom.
Sakurada Miyuki clutched the quilt, staring blankly, though it was of her own free will, she felt an inexplicable urge to cry.
She had given her most precious first time to someone she had never met before, now only knowing his surname.
"It was tough, please convey my thanks to Mr. Ota," Lu Liang said with a smile as he saw off Ota Ling's secretary.
Lu Liang closed the room door and flipped through some documents.
With a smile lingering on his lips and narrowed eyes, he muttered, "Just as I thought."
Last night he found it strange that a profit of 300 million dollars was given away so readily; even for a big financial conglomerate like Mitsui Sumitomo, it was a bit too generous.
Ota Ling had people send the documents explaining that last night's funds were corporate funds, and any profits or losses belonged to the company.
He was willing to give Lu Liang 20% of the net profit, and the board of the group was willing as well, but the laws of the country did not allow it.
So they had a meeting overnight and thought of a compromise—establish a company in Lu Liang's name and transfer the entire 308 million dollars into this new company's account.
In the future, Lu Liang's daily expenses and business investments could be conducted through this company.
The money still belonged to him, it just couldn't leave Japan for the moment.
Suddenly his cellphone rang, and Lu Liang received a call from Ota Ling, "Mr. Lu, you should have read the documentation by now."
Lu Liang nodded, "I have."
"Should I try to find a way to transfer the funds to your company's account at East Country as soon as possible?"
"No need, keeping the funds in Tokyo is also good, I do like this city, and coming here for a vacation now and then isn't bad."
Lu Liang chuckled lightly as he examined the remaining two documents—one was real estate certification information, and the other was vehicle purchase information.
The former was a high-end apartment in Roppongi, 480 square meters, valued at 18 million dollars.
The latter included three vehicles: a Mercedes Maybach, an Alphard, and a Porsche GT.
"Mr. Ota, thank you for your gifts."
The company, apartment, and cars were all well arranged, showing that they really hoped he would stay longer in Tokyo.
"Just a small token of appreciation, as long as you like it."
Ota Ling let out a sigh of relief; it was a straightforward strategy, but fortunately, Lu Liang didn't turn hostile and accepted their goodwill.
"I'm going back to Modu tomorrow, how about we have dinner together tonight?" Lu Liang asked.
"The location, do you want to book, or should we?"
"Let's do it at the hotel restaurant, I'm not familiar with other places."
"Okay."
Ending the call, Lu Liang suddenly heard some noise from the bedroom and turned his head to see Sakurada Miyuki limping into the bathroom.
He couldn't help but smile, then he looked down at the documents, among which was a personal file on Sakurada Miyuki.
Born in '98, sophomore at Tokyo University, her father had declared bankruptcy and jumped to his death last July, leaving her and her mother with a debt of 280 million yen, approximately 2.37 million dollars.
The main creditor was Mitsui Sumitomo Group, and among it, 50 million yen was from high-interest loans which Mitsui Sumitomo took over entirely.
At banquets, only the interest of the 50 million yen in high-interest loans could be waived; there was still a debt of 280 million yen to be repaid.
Ota Ling transferred the debt to Lu Liang.
All he needed to do was to get Sakurada Miyuki to sign it, then submit it to the Mitsui Sumitomo Group for review, and the entire debt would be written off.
"The character 'Liang' stands for conscience, why must life force me to become a villain."
Lu Liang sighed, tore up the debt settlement contract, threw it into the toilet, and flushed it towards the Pacific.
He packed away the company contracts, took out the house and car documents, went back to the bedroom, and quietly waited for Sakurada Miyuki to come out.
Sakurada Miyuki didn't expect Lu Liang to be waiting at the door for her, and she was so startled that she sat down straight on the floor. The carpet was soft, but her buttocks hit the step, the pain almost bringing tears to her eyes.
Lu Liang couldn't help but chuckle, went over to help her up: "I'll be returning to my country tomorrow."
Sakurada Miyuki responded with an "Oh," and Lu Liang continued, "These are the documents for the house and car. When I'm not here, you can manage them for me."
Sakurada Miyuki looked bewildered, pointing to her nose: "Manage what?"
"On weekends when the school is closed, you could clean up the rooms, do some maintenance on the car."
She could use the house and car and would be given a monthly salary of 3 million yen.
The 280 million yen debt, Lu Liang had already asked Ota Ling to stop accruing interest on it; by working for him for eight years, she could pay it off.
Sakurada Miyuki remained silent for a long moment, then gave a deep bow: "Thank you, sir. I will treat this job with care."
She was very aware that she was being treated like a canary, but a monthly salary of 25,000 US dollars was more than she could ever earn even after graduating.
Lu Liang handed her a bank card, which she could use for house repairs, car maintenance, and daily expenses. All she had to do was to generate a monthly bill and send it to him.
Sakurada Miyuki put away the documents, gathered her courage, and timidly asked: "Sir, I only know your surname is Lu, I still don't know your full name."
"Lu Liang."
"Lu Liang!"
Sakurada Miyuki's eyes widened, and she stared in a daze.
Lu Liang smiled at the corners of his mouth: "Have you heard my name before?"
Sakurada Miyuki stayed silent for a long while, then looked up and for the first time looked directly into Lu Liang's eyes, her gaze complex: "My father, last July, diverted company funds to play in the foreign exchange market, that's why we went bankrupt."
"Foreign exchange?"
Lu Liang was stunned, then suddenly narrowed his eyes.
Although it was not specified which foreign exchange, but it was already very clear from last July.
If nothing unexpected, it was the action he drove that caused the yen to plummet, killing someone's father and sleeping with his daughter.
Ota Ling, this bastard,
This was to push him into becoming the supreme villain.
Lu Liang asked, "What do you think?"
Sakurada Miyuki remained silent for a long time, then softly said, "I don't hate you, because it was my father who first misused the company's funds. I need this job, and I have a mother to take care of."
"Tokyo, I won't come here often. The job is still yours."
Lu Liang patted her head: "Rest well today, we can go to Roppongi tomorrow to check out the house and car."
He was going to settle the score with Ota Ling.
In the evening, Ota Ling arrived at the hotel as promised.
"Mr. Lu, I really didn't mean it, I had no idea that Sakurada Hiroshi went bankrupt like that."
Ota Ling was astonished. If he had known that Sakurada Miyuki's father went bankrupt playing with foreign exchange because of Lu Liang, he would not have let the two of them meet at all.
He had always hoped that Lu Liang would come to Tokyo more often, how could he intentionally make things difficult for Lu Liang?
"Let's not talk about that, let's drink," Lu Liang sighed. He naturally knew that Ota Ling didn't do it on purpose.
Managing such a large enterprise, a debt of several million US dollars, if not because Sakurada Miyuki resembled Nakamori Akina, he might not have even been aware of such an incident.
"How about I find you another companion tonight?"
Ota Ling was eager to make amends. The beginning was very pleasant, the process also quite enjoyable, who would have known the ending would turn so abruptly.
"No need, I'm leaving tomorrow." Lu Liang shook his head, he had become an unintended villain, and his mood was very somber.
