After Being Reborn, I Refuse To Be The Holy Son Of The Sect Anymore

Chapter 83:

Chapter 83:

Slap!

The resounding sound of the slap echoed in everyone’s ears, leaving them stunned. The mysterious Sword Saint, wearing a golden dragon-patterned mask, had just delivered a vicious slap across Jiang Qitian’s face. Staggering backward from the force, Jiang Qitian barely managed to steady himself.

The entire scene fell into a deafening silence. No one could believe what they had just witnessed.

Jiang Qitian, though not particularly powerful, was the sect master of the Azure Sun Sword Sect. Yet, this Sword Saint showed him no respect at all.

For Jiang Qitian to suffer such humiliation was tantamount to the entire Azure Sun Sword Sect being disgraced.

“Father!”

Jiang Ting came rushing over from afar, followed closely by the law enforcement elder, the inheritance elder, and several other disciples of the Azure Sun Sword Sect, all riding on sword light.

“Stay back!” Jiang Qitian growled.

Jiang Ting halted, her face filled with concern as she looked at her father. The other disciples, led by the two elders, also dared not approach further.

All of them stood frozen in shock, unable to look away from the scene unfolding before them.

Jiang Qitian slowly raised his head, glaring at the masked Sword Saint with eyes that seemed to burn with fire. His left cheek was swollen, and a bright red handprint marred his face. Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth.

The sharpness in his gaze was like the edge of a sword, but it couldn’t conceal the humiliation and rage boiling within him. He was the sect master of the Azure Sun Sword Sect, yet here he was, slapped in public. This was an unbearable disgrace, one that would surely become the subject of ridicule for years to come.

“What’s wrong? Still unconvinced? Where’s all your arrogance from earlier? I told you—you can’t even draw your sword in front of me,” Xiao Yang said in a hoarse voice. The tone was dripping with disdain and contempt, and his words stung like knives.

Xiao Yang had deliberately altered his voice, and with the aura of the Lunar Dragon Pearl entwined with his own, even Jiang Qitian couldn’t recognize him.

Suspended above Xiao Yang’s head, the Lunar Dragon Pearl continued to devour the spiritual energy from the surrounding earth veins.

Everyone was left in awe, assuming that Xiao Yang was demonstrating some divine ability to refine a supreme treasure. None of them realized it was the Lunar Dragon Pearl itself that was automatically absorbing the energy.

“Damn it!” Jiang Qitian roared, his entire body surging with sword energy as his hand tightened around the Azure Sun Sword.

Beneath his mask, Xiao Yang smirked.

His eyes, filled with even more contempt, watched Jiang Qitian closely. Standing perfectly still, Xiao Yang extended his sword intent to envelop the space within ten feet around him, sensing every subtle movement within that range.

A single drop of water fell silently from the ceiling, glowing faintly with spiritual energy. However, as it descended, the Lunar Dragon Pearl above Xiao Yang’s head absorbed the spiritual energy within it, leaving the droplet dull and lifeless.

The droplet landed between Xiao Yang and Jiang Qitian.

In that instant, the water droplet shattered with a faint pop.

Jiang Qitian erupted with sword energy as he drew his sword.

Xiao Yang chuckled softly. In the blink of an eye, he appeared before Jiang Qitian and kicked the Azure Sun Sword back into its sheath just as it had been drawn a few inches.

Slap!

Xiao Yang followed up with a backhanded slap that sent Jiang Qitian stumbling several steps to the side.

Jiang Qitian froze, his head tilted, his face twitching uncontrollably. His mouth opened slightly, revealing broken teeth, but he dared not spit them out. The humiliation was too great to bear. Swallowing the blood and fragments of teeth, Jiang Qitian’s fury threatened to consume him.

“Father!” Jiang Ting cried out in shock and anger.

“Sect Master…” The law enforcement elder, the inheritance elder, and the other disciples of the Azure Sun Sword Sect were filled with outrage. To them, their sect master’s disgrace was their own.

Xiao Yang couldn’t care less about their reactions. Among these people, aside from Song Qiang and Lin Wangchuan, most were nothing but ingrates. In his past life, Xiao Yang had gone out of his way to guide and support these junior disciples, even providing them with resources for cultivation. Yet, in the end, they had all betrayed him.

“Bullying the weak just because you’re strong—what kind of hero are you?” Jiang Qitian shouted in fury.

Xiao Yang burst into laughter, his chilling killing intent spreading across the space. The crowd, sensing the rising tension, instinctively stepped back.

“A Sword Saint’s wrath is no trivial matter,” someone muttered in fear.

Jiang Qitian, who had previously intimidated everyone with the Azure Sun Sword, now found himself powerless before the masked Sword Saint.

“Weren’t you the one earlier who relied on the Azure Sun Sword to oppress others? And now that you can’t flaunt your so-called power, you accuse me of bullying the weak? Where’s your dignity? Do you even have any?” Xiao Yang retorted sharply.

Jiang Qitian’s face turned pale, his words caught in his throat.

“Enough!” Jiang Qitian roared, recklessly channeling his sword energy as he gripped the Azure Sun Sword tightly. He was determined to draw his sword, even at the cost of his life.

“How foolish,” Xiao Yang muttered coldly.

In an instant, his level twelve Heavenly Sword Intent erupted. With the Lunar Dragon Pearl amplifying his power, Xiao Yang was like an unstoppable Sword Saint descending upon the world.

A deafening hum reverberated throughout the earth veins as countless swords resonated simultaneously.

In that moment, every sword carried by the sword cultivators in the vicinity flew out of their control, transforming into streaks of light that converged on Xiao Yang.

Even Chu Lingxiao and Li Chenyu, both half-step Holy Martial experts, were unable to suppress their flying swords.

The spectacle left everyone in utter terror. This was the overwhelming might of a Sword Saint.

Under the crushing weight of Xiao Yang’s sword intent, both Chu Lingxiao and Li Chenyu couldn’t help but kneel.

Jiang Qitian, his face twisted in rage, summoned all his strength to draw the Azure Sun Sword, but it wouldn’t budge.

“Even the Azure Sun Sword trembles in fear…” Jiang Qitian whispered in disbelief, his voice quivering.

Xiao Yang, his voice resolute, declared, “I wield a sword that can command the heavens. What is the Azure Sun Sword in comparison?”

His words carried an undeniable authority, like thunder shaking the heavens.

“Kneel!” Xiao Yang stepped forward, unleashing his full sword intent upon Jiang Qitian. The pressure was so immense that Jiang Qitian nearly collapsed.

From every direction, the flying swords converged, their tips aimed at Jiang Qitian, including his own sword.
