Chapter 42: Chapter 42: Guinaifen

"Lumina..."

Within the Seat of Divine Foresight on the Luofu, a tall, white-haired man sat in his chair, reviewing a document that had been forwarded from the Jade Gate.

The document contained a detailed profile of Lumina:

A kind-hearted individual deeply concerned for the well-being of all living beings, suspected of being an Emanator of Abundance, yet having never clashed with the Xianzhou Alliance. The file also included a record of all her known public activities.

"Hmm..." The man barely glanced at the pages before setting them aside.

His gaze drifted through the window, toward the distant horizon.

"It seems... there's no reason to deny her entry to Luofu..."

He shook his head, sighed, rose from his chair, clasped his hands behind his back, and strode away, his destination unknown.

-

Outside Xianzhou Luofu, at the Jade Gate:

"Esteemed guest, greetings. Your request has been approved."

"The Jade Gate is now opening. On behalf of the Xianzhou Alliance, we welcome you to Luofu."

"Please proceed in an orderly manner, following the instructions provided."

Lumina didn't have to wait long. In less than twenty minutes, her request was approved. She watched the Jade Gate slowly creak open before her, a hint of surprise crossing her face.

"Hmm... that makes sense, I suppose."

Though mildly surprised, Lumina pondered the situation and found it perfectly logical. After all, her reputation in the outside world was merely that of a suspected Emanator of Abundance, not a confirmed one. Given her status and influence, Jing Yuan had no legitimate reason to deny her entry to Luofu.

If the Luofu had rejected her without concrete evidence, Lumina could easily have tarnished their reputation by investing time and resources to publicize the matter, thoroughly exposing their unfounded suspicion.

Of course, the Luofu likely wouldn't care much...

Nor would Lumina.

"The Jade Gate is now fully open. Esteemed guest, please proceed in an orderly manner, following the instructions provided."

Snapping out of her thoughts, Lumina gazed at the fully opened Jade Gate, dismissed further speculation, and stepped through without hesitation.

"As expected of the Xianzhou—it's so lively!" Lumina remarked as she stepped through the Jade Gate into the Starskiff Jetty. The lively, vibrant scene before her, teeming with people and energy, drew a sigh of admiration.

"That person... she's so beautiful and so familiar..."

"If only I were even a tenth as pretty as her..."

Lumina's striking beauty and elegant demeanor instantly drew the attention of the crowd as her foot touched the ground. The Interastral Peace Corporation's relentless self-promotion, combined with her unforgettable face, meant that nearly everyone who had seen her even once carried a lingering impression.

Many recognized Lumina.

Yet recognition only translated into furtive glances; no one dared approach her.

"No familiar faces here..." Lumina scanned the crowd, finding no one she knew.

Noticing the path that spontaneously opened before her, she smiled faintly, nodded in acknowledgment to the onlookers, and strode confidently through the parting throng toward the heart of the Starskiff Jetty.

Sometimes, the convenience conferred by one's status far exceeds expectations... Lumina mused inwardly.

But why didn't Jing Yuan invite me for tea at the Seat of Divine Foresight? That's rather unexpected.

"What a shame," she thought, "losing this connection. How am I supposed to meet Fu Xuan now?"

The thought left her slightly troubled.

"Berrypheasant skewers for sale! Berrypheasant skewers for sale! Three Strale each, or three for ten!"

As Lumina entered the bustling heart of the Central Starskiff Haven, she was greeted by a vibrant scene of hawkers and stalls. Her eyes fell upon the rows of bright red Berrypheasant skewers, and her mouth watered. Without hesitation, she turned toward the nearest stall.

"Hello, how much are the Berrypheasant skewers?" Lumina asked, standing before the stall. She extended her slender, pale finger and pointed at the skewers, asking a question that felt rather foolish.

"Ha! Three Strale apiece, or three for ten! How many would you like, esteemed customer?" The stall owner chuckled, either charmed by Lumina's beauty or embodying the renowned hospitality of the Xianzhou people. He didn't seem to mind her simple question.

"Um... when you say 'three Strale,' do you mean the Xianzhou currency?"

"Naturally."

"And... can I pay with Credit Points?" Lumina asked hesitantly, a hint of embarrassment in her voice.

"Hmm..." The stall owner paused, considering. He glanced Lumina up and down, a flicker of surprise in his eyes. "Judging by your appearance, you're not from Xianzhou, are you?"

"Alright, then. The exchange rate is 1 Strale to 200 Credit Points. I'll just charge a small transaction fee. 650 Credit Points will do."

"Okay~" Lumina replied with a smile, spending 650 Credit Points on a skewer of Berrypheasant Skewers.

After paying, she took the stick and immediately started eating.

"Mmm... delicious."

"Glad you like it," the vendor chuckled, watching her.

"Come one, come all! This is the Central Starskiff Haven of Luofu, the most bustling area in all of Xianzhou!"

Lumina, still enjoying her Berrypheasant Skewers, suddenly heard a loud hawker's call and looked up.

She saw a young girl with orange hair waving a selfie stick, loudly promoting the area.

The moment Lumina spotted the girl, her eyes lit up. The Berrypheasant Skewers suddenly lost their appeal.

She stared at the girl, calculating how to approach her without raising suspicion.

"Hmm... I've got it♪"

A sly smile crept onto Lumina's lips as she imagined the wonderful life she would have after manipulating the girl.

"Hello~ hello~ Can you hear me clearly? Good morning, everyone! Welcome to Little Gui's live stream~"

In the heart of the Central Starskiff Haven on Xianzhou Luofu, Guinaifen held up her selfie stick and greeted the thirty-two viewers in her live stream.

[Good morning, Little Gui!]

[Good morning, waifu!]

[Little Gui, what are you performing today? I quit my job just to watch your stream!]

Although the audience was small, they were all active fans, and Guinaifen felt deeply satisfied.

Seeing the comment about quitting a job, Guinaifen froze for a moment before urgently replying, "Don't quit! You can watch the stream anytime, and even if you miss it, there's always the replay. Losing a job makes it so much harder to find another one..."

[Just kidding! I'm watching from the bathroom at work right now.]

[Little Gui, hurry up and start! What's the plan for today?]

"Oh, right!" Guinaifen swiveled her selfie stick around in a 360-degree arc. "Last time, you all wanted to see the most bustling area of Luofu, right?"

"Well, here it is—the Central Starskiff Haven, the heart of Luofu. Let me give you a tour!"

After finishing her introduction, Guinaifen began walking, showcasing the sights of Luofu to the thirty-odd viewers in her live stream.

"It's a weekday, so there are relatively fewer people around," she explained as she strolled.

The comment section immediately lit up:

[Little Gui, I want to see Luofu beauties, not this!]

[Beauties! Beauties! Beauties!]

"Am I Little Gui, not a beauty?" Guinaifen scoffed, glancing at the comments.

[Holy crap! A beauty! A beauty! She's definitely a beauty!]

[Go, Little Gui, go! I'll shower you with gifts!]

The viewers had initially intended to compliment Guinaifen, acknowledging her rare beauty. But in the next instant, their attention was drawn to something else, and the comment section exploded with new messages.

Intrigued by the commotion, Guinaifen glanced up from her phone to see what had caught their attention.

A flash of white appeared before her...
