Chapter 34: Chapter 34: Smiling Girls Have Good Luck!

Since Lumina's account was brand new, she was immediately forced to go through the tutorial upon entering the game.

Without a word, Lumina diligently followed the story, taking the opportunity to admire her own performances in the main story.

Before long, she reached the quest involving Asta and unlocked the gacha system.

"Ahem, my character roster is a bit sparse," Lumina said, opening the gacha interface. She coughed and uttered this seemingly innocuous statement, hinting at something.

[...]

The System wasn't stupid. It immediately understood Lumina's implication.

After a moment of silence, it responded:

[Scan the QR code with your phone's payment app. One 648 package costs one million Credit Points. Recharge as you see fit...]

"Oh?" Lumina's eyes lit up.

Her selfless contributions throughout multiple Amber Eras had earned her substantial Credit Point rewards from the Interastral Peace Corporation. In fact, Lumina herself had lost track of how many Credit Points she possessed.

With this in mind, she pulled out her phone and checked her account balance:

[7,486,000,000,000]

"Rock solid! Everything's perfectly stable!"

Despite the staggering number on her screen, Lumina's expression remained unchanged. She opened the in-game recharge page, activated her phone's QR code scanner, and scanned the code on the screen.

"Let's start with one System Time's worth."

As the payment confirmation appeared, a genuine smile spread across Lumina's face, brightening her entire demeanor.

"That's about it, I guess."

Lumina stared at her fully maxed-out account, every character at 6+5. She shook her head, sighed, and a profound emptiness washed over her.

It felt less like she'd been pulling gacha banners and more like she'd waged a cosmic war... and now the war was over.

Her eyes seemed to contemplate the philosophy of the universe, while her heart overflowed with disillusionment toward worldly pursuits.

Lumina picked up her phone, downloaded the official game community app, logged in with her phone number, linked her account, and took a screenshot of her character roster.

Then, she posted a thread across various social media platforms titled:

[Newbie Question: How do I even play this game? [Image.jpg]]

After posting, Lumina set down her phone, her face beaming with smug satisfaction.

[You're no different from a child.]

Observing Lumina's smug demeanor, the System sighed and spoke.

Hearing this, Lumina's smile instantly vanished, replaced by a slightly annoyed expression. "Who are you calling a child?" she retorted.

[You.]

"Ah♪" Lumina's smile returned, and she began humming a tune.

"♪~♪~♪♪~"

The System slowly typed out a question mark, still trying to process what had just happened.

But soon, it realized it had been outmaneuvered by Lumina.

[You little...]

Understanding this did little good. All the System could do was type two words to express its inner turmoil.

"Hmph♪" Lumina completely disregarded the System's protest.

Truth be told, if this System were an irresistibly cute girl, Lumina could have tricked her three times with a single piece of candy.

And it would be the same piece of candy each time...

The Space Station storyline was short, so Lumina quickly completed it along with the Simulated Universe's beginner tutorial.

After clearing out the shop and upgrading her characters, she began her grind for the Event: Lumina's Garden.

Staring at the Simulated Universe before her, Lumina suddenly felt a pang of melancholy. She asked the System, "Hey, you know how my whole life feels like walking on thin ice?"

"Do you think I can even trigger this event within one System Time?"

The System scoffed inwardly at her question.

With that absurdly low event trigger rate, I bet you won't get it even in a whole day.

Still irked by Lumina's earlier trickery, the System had no intention of offering her any encouragement or assistance.

Unless she begs me... it silently added.

"Alright, alright~" Lumina replied dismissively, as if pacifying a child.

She entered the Simulated Universe, deployed her fully maxed-out Seele-Bronya Team, and selected the highest difficulty she could challenge.

Entering the first Plane, she bypassed the Blessings since all her characters were at 6+5 and rushed straight to the final boss.

After clearing the monsters, Lumina unlocked the portal and stepped into the event area.

Since this was a new account, she hadn't unlocked many events yet, so the event displayed a question mark.

"Let's see~♪" Lumina hummed cheerfully, controlling her game character to approach and trigger the event.

[Event: Prayer]

"!" Lumina's eyes lit up as the event appeared on the screen.

[...]

The System fell silent, observing the event.

"Just as I thought, girls who smile often have good luck~♪" Lumina chuckled softly, selecting the option "Extend a Helping Hand to All Living Beings" and receiving three three-star Abundance Blessings.

Her smile widened at the sight of the three-star blessings, her joy nearly overflowing.

"I have a feeling I'm going to clear this in one go."

Seizing the moment, Lumina wasted no time and guided her character into the next Plane.

With her heavily invested character, the subsequent Planes were mere formalities, her character effortlessly mowing down everything in her path.

During the boss battle on the Ninth Plane, Lumina deliberately sent in a level one character to be defeated, fulfilling the second prerequisite condition.

After defeating the boss, Lumina approached the portal and stepped through.

Unsurprisingly, another question mark event materialized before her. Lumina eagerly controlled her character forward to trigger it.

[Event: Lumina's Garden]

Lumina: o(* ̄▽ ̄*)ブ

"Just as I thought! Lucky girls who smile a lot always have the best luck!"

Lumina pulled out her phone, snapped two quick photos of the event, and immediately posted them on various social media platforms. She then spent 100 million Credit Points to give each post a small boost.

[Buying promotion won't help if you don't share the prerequisites first!]

[Otherwise, people will waste time trying to trigger the event and end up cursing you as a liar!]

Seeing Lumina's actions, the System offered a well-meaning reminder.

"I never said I wouldn't share them," Lumina replied casually, setting down her phone and resting her hand back on the mouse. She selected the option to "Shout: 'Long live the Saintess!'" and lazily muttered the line.

"Let the hype build for a few hours first. The impact will be much greater then."

Lumina flashed a triumphant smile, as if she had everything perfectly planned.
