Adapting in Marvel

Chapter 74: [74] Getting The Heat Vision

The first thing they thought of was the indestructible Man of Steel.

Brian was all smiles; he successfully used the carbon skin ability to create an indestructible image.

In fact, the carbon skin obtained from the Invisible Man could be considered a pseudo-Man of Steel.

Defending against Scott's newly awakened Cyclops beams was easy.

Brian walked in front of Scott with the lasers still active.

He gently patted Scott's shoulder.

"Scott, your ability is outstanding. Do you want to join our Super Seven?"

Scott looked at Brian, who seemed like a messenger of justice, so excited that he could hardly speak.

It wasn't until two minutes later that Scott reacted.

"Can I join the X-Men?" Scott asked unconfidently.

He had just awakened his ability and felt very weak compared to someone like Brian.

Could he really join the powerful X-Men?

"Of course, Scott. We're here for this. Our Professor X is an excellent teacher.

He can help you develop your ability, make you stronger quickly, and turn you into a true superhero."

Brian's words filled Scott with excitement.

"Scott, from now on, your X-Men codename will be Cyclops,"

Professor X, who had been silent, said as he walked over to Scott.

"Cyclops? That's a cool name! I've become a member of the Super Seven!"

Cyclops Scott was extremely excited.

Scott wanted to turn around and celebrate with his classmates and teacher, but as he began to move, Brian grabbed his head and turned it back.

"Scott, do you want to kill your classmates and teacher?"

Brian's words startled Scott so much that he immediately closed his eyes, causing the lasers to vanish.

Brian looked at the excited Cyclops and smiled.

"However, before becoming an X-Men, we need to run some tests on you to ensure that your ability is truly suited for the X-Men."

"Of course, our tests are formal, reasonable, and legal.

Don't worry—we won't be studying your body,"

Brian added with a reassuring tone.

"So, Scott Summers, are you willing to cooperate with the test?"

Hearing Brian's question, Scott nodded quickly.

Seeing Scott's agreement, Brian's smile grew even brighter.

He then glanced at Scott's classmates and teacher.

"As Scott's classmates and teacher, you're welcome to observe the testing process,"

Brian said, extending the invitation.

His words made the students even more excited.

Half an hour later, Brian brought everyone back to Xavier Manor.

He then led the group to a medical room within the mansion.

In the medical room stood a state-of-the-art MRI device,

A piece of equipment Brian had asked Hank to create.

It doubled as a Mutant detection instrument.

Every Mutant who wished to join the X-Men was required to undergo a physical examination here.

Only after passing the examination could they officially join the team.

At this moment, Cyclops Scott was lying on the MRI device, undergoing a full-body scan.

Ten minutes later, Scott stepped down from the device,

While Brian held the results he had been waiting for.

Using the MRI device, Brian had successfully obtained a complete scan of Scott's brain structure.

Now, Brian was intently examining the brain scan in his hand.

Although it was in black and white, Scott's brain structure was remarkably detailed.

Within minutes, Brian identified the circuit responsible for Scott's ability.

Tick-tick-tick

Buzz.

Brian's eyes glowed red,

And a laser beam suddenly shot out, piercing through Scott's brain scan.

Brian smiled.

Using the MRI device, he had easily acquired Cyclops Scott's ability—And instantly maximized its potential.

His current heat vision was almost identical to Superman's Heat Ray.

He could now release lasers through his eyes at will, and the intensity was powerful enough to instantly melt alloy steel.

Brian could also freely adjust the laser's intensity with his mind.

The smallest beam could easily penetrate the human body, while the largest beam was virtually indestructible.

Its power far surpassed the energy Shockwave of Alex Summers, also known as Havok.

Brian could now release both energy Shockwaves from his hands

And lasers from his eyes simultaneously.

His abilities were increasingly resembling those of Homelander.

He could perform Psychokinetic Flight!

Had super hearing, a pseudo-steel body!

And now possessed Cyclops' heat vision!

In addition to his super strength and super vision, Brian was now almost a complete replica of Homelander.

As for Superman, he still differed from him in some respects, but not by much—excluding Brian's unique adaptive evolution ability.

In short, after acquiring Cyclops' abilities, Brian's strength had increased significantly.

Now, with just a single glare,

He could eliminate a large number of weaker Mutants in seconds.

"Scott, you are qualified. Now, you are a member of the X-Men."

After acquiring Cyclops Scott's ability, Brian approached Scott with a test report,

Patted him on the shoulder, and spoke earnestly.

"Great, I joined the X-Men!"

The young Cyclops was overjoyed.

He closed his eyes tightly, unable to hide the wide smile spreading across his face.

"Professor X, Cyclops is in your hands,"

Brian said casually, handing Scott over to Professor X before preparing to leave.

However, just before leaving, there was one more thing Brian needed to do.

Buzz.

As Brian turned to go, his eyes suddenly glowed red.

The scene didn't go unnoticed by Professor X,

Who looked at him with surprise.

"Brian, your eyes?"

Hearing Professor X's words, Brian paused, as if coming out of a trance.

He touched his eyes, and a spark of excitement flickered across his face.

"It seems my body has adapted to Scott's laser, and I've evolved the same ability,"

Brian explained, before turning off the glowing lasers.

His objective had been achieved.

As expected, Professor X understood that Brian's body could adapt to and replicate different abilities.

There was no suspicion—just a hint of envy in Professor X's expression.

"Brian, your ability is truly remarkable,"

He said with genuine admiration.

In response, Brian squatted slightly, then crossed his hands and placed them on his forehead, before launching himself into the air.

Soaring skyward in true Homelander style, Brian hovered midair and glanced down at the crowd below.

His eyes glowed faintly red, and for a moment, he looked like the reincarnation of Superman.

The crowd below erupted into cheers.

"Homelander! Homelander!"
