" Yeah yeah, I am awake"
Ray woke up from his slumber as the alarm rang. Sitting on the bed still he fought to stay awake. After gaining some awareness he move towards the bathroom, as the cold water of the shower pour on his body he fully woke up. After showering as he wiped his body with towel he put on his academy uniform an moved towards the cafeteria for breakfast.
Five days had passed since his transmigration and in those five days Ray had somewhat settled in his new life. He trained like crazy and fought the academy combat duals. Now he's in the semi - final today and his opponent is Kevin. Yes, the member of the main cast and from one of the five great families Kevin Emerson.
"Hey, good morning" said Aria with her signature mischievous smile.
"Good morning Ray" greeted Leon.
"Good morning, Leon Aria"
One more thing has changed. On earth Ray was alone. Although it's embarrassing to say this but he did not have any friends on earth. When his family died and he was busy with his work all his old friends left him and he didn't thought about making new ones as they would also leave. However, here it was different he had made new friends and no one in them is anyone near normal person. The main cast after the first day they and Ray had met alot and they even watched every match of the members together.
They moved on the table and sat with Ray. Also carrying their breakfast.
"So Aria are you ready for your match today.?" asked Ray.
"Yep, I am ready although i am not sure about winning atleast i will give it my all and yeah" said Aria making an determined expression.
"And yeah don't even think about going easy on me." she warned him with a stern face.
"Don't worry I won't" said Leon with ever going bright smile.
"Well today is your match too isn't it" asked Leon as he turn towards Ray who was eating his food.
"Yup it is. However I don't see my opponent here where is he" asked Ray curious as he didn't see Kevin.
"Um, well he,"
"He got rejected by a girl. Now, he's telling that all his pain and depression or whatever he had he will use it to beat you, Leon and Arnold with it. In short he doing nothing." explained Aria as Leon seem to have problem telling it.
"Pfft haha, I see" listening to Kevin action he couldn't help but laugh.
" Well the matches are gonna start let's go "
*****
On the combat arena stood Leon and Aria face to face with their stances ready. Ray who had came to watch the match sat beside Kevin who had somehow came out of his depression and was shouting cheers for both Leon and Aria .
"Begin!"
Tak Tak
As the referee announced, Aria quickly conjured two water arrows, firing them toward Leon with precision.
Slash!
Leon stood tall, not moving from his position. With a swift motion, he used his sword, wrapped in light, to slash the first water arrow coming from the right toward his chest. The sword's momentum helped him easily block the second arrow, causing it to blast on contact.
"You have to do better than that, Aria."
"Don't worry, I know that," she responded calmly.
Crack Crack
Not wasting any time, Aria cast a series of water tendrils that rushed toward Leon, seeking to bind him.
Leon, ever ready, used his wind affinity to dash forward, closing the gap and evading the water tendrils in the air as they snapped behind him. In an instant, he was upon her, his sword inches from her throat.
Aria's eyes worked in overdrive, calculating the trajectory of the sword. With a graceful duck, she moved backward, evading the strike.
Leon didn't want to give her a moment to regain her stance and charged again, but this time, his legs were stuck to the ground as water tendrils wrapped around his hand.
Seeing the success of her spell, Aria quickly seized the opportunity and summoned her next attack.
"Water Spear."
Whirl!
A long water spear materialized in front of her, the air around it freezing and creating a cold mist. The spear shot forward, rotating with incredible speed toward Leon, intent on piercing through him.
Leon reacted instantly, conjuring a shield of light before him to block the spear. Using his air affinity, he manipulated the wind to slow its speed, but the sheer force behind it still tested his defense.
Bam... Crack
The spear collided with the light shield, and for a moment, both the spear and shield were at a stalemate. But after that brief pause, cracks began to form on the shield, shattering it completely. Just in time, Leon sidestepped to the left, narrowly avoiding the spear, which passed just inches from his side.
Slash
"Light Slash!"
Leon unleashed a powerful slash from his sword. The beam of light flew toward Aria with lightning speed, but Aria responded in kind, raising her bow to conjure an wall of water to block the strike.
Whir
However, she couldn't anticipate the large wave of fire that suddenly erupted in front of her. The wave crashed into her body like a sledgehammer, sending her flying backward like a ragdoll.
Leon didn't waste any time. Using his air affinity, he dashed forward, concentrating the air around his hand. With one precise punch, he aimed for Aria's side. Aria tried to block the strike with her bow, but it snapped in half, and the punch connected, sending her crashing to the ground.
"Cough, cough," she gasped, struggling to regain her breath. Despite the intense pain coursing through her body, she summoned all the remaining strength in her and cast her final spell.
Crack
Dark clouds gathered ominously above Leon as a thunderstorm began to form, lightning crackling violently. Leon stood his ground, knowing that moving would only give Aria the chance to direct the lightning toward him.
Instead, he focused on his sword, gathering all his remaining light affinity into it. The blade trembled, as if it could barely contain the energy that had built up.
"White Slash!"
A blinding light erupted from Leon's sword, causing everyone who was watching the match to shield their eyes. When the light dimmed, the storm had been completely split in half, the violent lightning losing its power and dissipating. The sky cleared, and the storm was gone.
However, Leon wasn't entirely unscathed. His shoulder was blackened and scorched where the lightning had struck, but the damage wasn't enough to take him down.
Aria, seeing her last attack fail, slumped to the ground, her strength depleted. She raised her hand in surrender.
"Winner, Leon Aekins!" The class erupted in cheers and applause, but Leon ignored the crowd and moved toward Aria.
He offered his hand to her, helping her stand. "Good match," he said, his tone warm despite the intensity of the fight.
"Haah haah, i still can't win from you huh. How frustrating" said Aria as she grabbed his hand and stood up.
"Don't be like that, you are a whole lot stronger than the last time you now" said Leon his voice praising.
Both moved down from the arena and hurriedly changed to their uniform and moved towards the stands as they did not want to miss the next match even for a second. After all the next match was that interesting.
