Chapter 93: Battle of the Black Card × Six Blade Formation of Destruction
[Battleground: Dragon Fang Arena - Domain of Black - Sealed Battle Barrier] The perimeter of the Dragon Fang Arena was sealed in layers. Three levels of Spiritual Barriers were shimmering in the air, personally set up by Instructor Vonk to suppress the interference of the Queen card during the battle.
Yorumi Cang stood at the center, his black cloak fluttering in the wind, his fingertips twirling the card: Black Jack.
Opposite him stood the third ranked warrior of Canglan Academy - Biliu - Qianmie.
He was wearing an azure robe, with six swords floating behind him. His gaze was icy, his expression as calm as dead water.
"I don't recognize this kind of magic-based duel," Qianmie said coldly. "But I must destroy you. Dongyun's backbone must be broken."
"Those six swords of yours... look noisy." Yorumi replied nonchalantly.
Qianmie wasted no words. With a wave of his hand, the six swords formed a line around him.
-Six-Sword Formation: Flowing Seal Kill - First Form - Vein Sever The six sword shadows struck simultaneously, attacking from above, below, in front, behind, left, and right - blocking all paths of movement.
Yorumi moved like mist, slipping through the gaps. His left hand flipped a magic card - Illusion Configuration: Playing Card - Black Jack (♠J) - Ability Activation: Imaginary Multiplication - Twin Shadow Projection Two doppelgangers flickered into existence, countering the side sword arcs. Yorumi's main body swooped low, throwing cards like bullets.
Qianmie, however, remained calm.
"...You'll find that I'm not like Fūkiri."
-Six Blade Formation: Second Form - Spirit Binding Lock The six blades formed a sigil in the air, creating a sword seal area that forcibly compressed Yorumi's illusion frequency, shattering the doppelgangers.
The thrown cards lost their accuracy and scattered to the ground.
Yorumi's movement stalled - a blade grazed his shoulder, opening a bloody gash.
Watching from the sidelines, Hakuran muttered, "...The Six-Blade Formation is a combo-style anti-illusion system. It's specially designed to counter illusionists like Yorumi and me."
Kōdō Saya clenched her fists. "Then what do we do..."
Instructor Vonk, however, kept his eyes on Yorumi and murmured, "...where is the Queen?"
[As Yorumi staggered back, a familiar and irresistible voice echoed in his mind: -♕ Queen: If you want to win... accept me.
Blood trickled down his forehead, and the Black Jack card in his hand turned deep crimson.
-Hybrid Awakening - Illusory Thrust - Queen×Jack System Activated He instantly threw three cards that transformed into projection clones. With a new level of speed and angles, he dove back into the center of the Six Blade Formation!
Just before he reached Qianmie, Yorumi shouted, -Chain Spell: Queen's Binding Ring!
The cards arced through the air, forming a curved chain that encircled the Six Sword Guiding Zone. Illusion and sword technique collided, creating a destructive core.
Qianmie's face changed, "No-!"
BOOM!
The sword formation shattered. Black flames and playing cards rained down as Qianmie was blasted backwards, breaking through three layers of barriers and crashing into the edge of the Dragon Fang Arena.
[Qianmie Defeated] The other two members of Canglan Academy looked on in shock.
Yorumi stood in the middle of the field, panting heavily. His gaze was cold, the burning echoes of the queen's power beneath him.
"You... are the King of Maps...?" Qianmie murmured, his voice weak as he lost consciousness.
Yorumi made no response, only slowly gathering up his cards and looking skyward - a more terrifying presence was descending.
-Canglan's Fourth Warrior: Hakufu - Shinya [Tendō Kyōichi - Hospital - Quiet Room] The hospital room was dimly lit.
Tendō Kyōichi sat beside the bed, his hand on his chest, where a faint pain from a mental fracture throbbed. His sword, now half broken, was sealed in a cooling device.
Instructor Vonk stood in front of him, carefully placing a black and white variant of a playing card on the table: ♚ King.
"The Black Divine Blade has left you with a King's Wound," Vonk said softly. "You... may never regain your full strength."
"That's okay," Tendō closed his eyes and smiled faintly.
"I finally... understand. He is not my future enemy."
"The real enemy... is this king."
Vonk's eyes flickered slightly. He turned and walked away with a flick of his sleeve.
Outside the hospital window, the wind howled and the clouds billowed.
