'Oh! Whoah… So this is my system?' Matthew thought, eyes wide as the glowing status screen hovered before him. His gaze lingered on the class and the single skill listed.

'No wonder lil bro lost hope… this skill is not that useful on its own,' he muttered, slowly understanding why the original Matthew had pressed the quit button in life.

'Looking at it… my system's ability is to create skills. I still don't know to what extent... but it seems to use Creation Points.'

'But how do I gain them?'

[Ding! You have received a Quest!]

Quest: One-Time Easy Creation Point Event

The system has granted you an opportunity to earn your first Creation Point easily! But to keep it, you must defeat a person with an A-Grade Class. You know who we're talking about.

Reward: Keep the Creation Point, or the skill you make with it.

Failure: The system will revoke the reward—either the point or the skill created with it.

Do you accept?

▸ [Yes]    ▢ [No]

"...So you're telling me you want me to defeat... Hans? And in return, you'll give me a point upfront to make it possible to fight back?"

Matthew shook his head and smiled, defeated. "I'll accept that offer."

[Ding!]

[You have received 1 Creation Point!]

"How about we try making a skill, eh?" he said, cracking his knuckles. "System, open Skill Creation."

A new transparent interface appeared, floating in front of his eyes.

---

(Describe the skill in your mind)

[Create]

---

'...IS THERE ANY TUTORIAL? LIKE WHAT THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO DO HERE?!' He scratched his head, frustrated. "Fine! Let's do this by trial and error."

---

25 minutes later…

After several attempts, Matthew started to get the hang of it. He simplified what he had learned:

The blessing's tier determines the maximum rank of skills he can create.

High-tier skills require more Creation Points.

Adding restrictions, drawbacks, and limitations reduces the cost and tier.

That was the gist of it—for now.

"Alright. Let's make something that can actually help me," he said, stretching his back after sitting still for so long.

---

15 minutes later…

_______________

Skill Name: Cut

Create a very faint, and barely visible slicing projectile that will slice anything in its path. The power of the slash depends on how much energy and intensity I decide to use. I can decide if it will be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal, etc.

Limit: Only has a range of 50 feet. Can be blocked if the target is strong enough. Cooldown of 3 seconds.

Restriction: Requires performing 3 hand signs—Horse, Rooster, Serpent—before saying the skill name.

He checked the Create button. It was gray.

Click.

[Not enough Creation Point!]

"Hm. Then that means it's now a Tier 1 skill—since it didn't say my blessing is too low," he said, hands under his chin.

---

3 minutes later…

Skill Name: Cut

Create a faint, barely visible thin blade of compressed wind that flies in a chosen direction (horizontal, vertical, diagonal, etc.).

The blade is sharp and fast, able to cut through most basic materials and flesh. However, it cannot slice through denser or stronger targets unless the user infuses more energy into the cast to increase its lethality.

Range: 50 feet

Cooldown: 3 seconds

Restrictions:

– The user must perform three hand signs in sequence: Horse → Rooster → Serpent.

– Activating the skill consumes approx. 50ml of the user's blood. Increasing the skill's power raises only the energy cost, not blood cost. Prolonged use may cause fatigue, dizziness, or even death due to blood loss.

Matthew frowned. He's currently standing besides the bed, planning on getting some water to drink.

'The blood cost is kinda steep… I had to raise it gradually from 5ml before the system finally accepted it.'

Still—

'Not gonna lie… this skill is pretty damn good. Inexperienced enemies will definitely have trouble facing it. By the time I've lost enough blood to be a problem, they'll probably already be defeated.'

He nodded and pressed [Create].

And then—

"UGHGHHH—!"

He collapsed to his knees.

A massive headache slammed into him like a freight train. He gritted his teeth and fell to his side, groaning as information surged into his brain like molten data.

The system was shoving the knowledge straight into his mind—forcefully and directly.

Until it became second nature.

"Ugh… shit… I didn't know that would happen," he muttered, wincing and holding his head as he slowly sat up, breathing heavily.

"Could've used a damn warning…" he crumbled and spoke to the air. But he knew the system wouldn't really reply. He had tried it before.

But still, this make helps him to cope better.

'Anyway.. I'm thirsty lets take a break' he told himself as he finally went to get water.

.

.

.

.

That night, Matthew got ready. He had also encircled a day in the calendar which was 2 days from today.

Currently the sun had gone down, and the night had engulfed the world in its cold and peaceful embrace.

Looking out of his apartment window, the soft glow of the building's from afar creates a beautiful painting.

And the flying cars added some touch of wonder into it. "I can't believe they finally done it.. Flying car using the Aether power source huh.."

Yup, you heard that right.. the same aether that poisoned the air of his original world is the main power source in this world as well.

And according to every he have been researching now it wasn't actually toxic. Its just that, in the ancient time (his original era) all the humans had their core dormant.

So the moment they were exposed to the Aether which is the world's mana, they unknowingly entered the process of awakening.

And since then, people who are born from mana awakened humans had their core already awakened at birth. And thus not 'toxic' anymore.

And as for the portals. That was actually the first case of a dungeon break. And the believed theory why the monster that time were so strong was those portals have been unopened for millennia.

And when the Aether powerplant began harvesting the inactive Aether that floats in the air pumping it into their machine and stimulating it with all kinds of elements and spewing out the activated Aether, it then gave the unopened portal the appropriate fuel to finally open up causing a dungeon break.

"I still couldn't believe humanity survived that and come out on top" he mumbled as he took a sip from his energy drink.

"...how about a night walk? I wanna check out how the world have been after all this time" speaking to himself and nodding, he then got changed and wore a thick coat. Took his wallet and finally went outside of the apartment.

The hall were quiet. He quickly walked towards what he assumed an elevator. And entered it.

And soon, he got out of the apartment and had began walking down the street. 'now that I think about it.. did the previous Matthew had a job?.. ' he asked himself after seeing a few staffs working in the stores he passed by.

He also took note of the fact that, there's almost no more land vehicle present.. almost.

As the majority of the people are now using flying cars and are flying overhead the street.

He could see a few of them landing to park in front of some stores maybe buying stuff he doesn't know.

The air is clean and fresh. The occasional smell it food coming from street stalls whiffs pass him. And the towering billboard light up the sides of the building.

A few digital led billboard caught his attention.. one his about a guy named Siryiu a third year from the academy being sponsored by some cosmetics company.

And a girl from the second year wearing a beautiful and sexy two piece biki and enjoying a drink called 'Ocean Waves' that gives a temporary slight resistance to the heat.

And there were also a quick video about the incoming enrollment in the academy 2 more days to go. With the billboard enticing everyone to get a ticket and join the spectators.

"So thats the Academy huh?" He mumbled, it seems to be extremely influencial in this place.

Speaking of influence.. his mind drifted back to what he found earlier. Apparently there now exist what they call a Legacy Families which were the descendants of the strong awakened in the past.

They inherited their ancestors class or at least was related to it.. sometimes even better. And how are they influencial? It's because of the top guilds they lead and owns.

And those top guild were the shield and spear of humanities against the monsters. As a guild it was their duty to raid dungeons to prevent dungeon breaks, and fight the monsters that come out of a dungeon break. They were treated like a heroes, celebrity and savior of the many.

Because no one wants to be like the ancient country that fell from the monster's clutch. That right. Unlike what Matthew firsts believed. Not all of the country from his time survived.

Some of the small county fell, either because they were unlucky and a powerful monster came out of their portal.. or because the population of that country were too low to fight the waves off.

The countries that fell were, Greenland, Iceland, Antarctica, Philippines, North Korea, Madagascar, New Zealand, Papua New guinea, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Caribbean, Most of Central America, Portugal, Ireland, And most of the northern Russia.

It was a dark part of the history, and reading those loses made Matthew feel bad despite him being a member of IDGAF movement.

"Well, whatever.. the past is the past" he mumbled as he walks.

He walked for a while and then he reached the City Park. It was a dark night so there weren't much people in the park at that time.

But Matthew don't mind, in fact that was better. "Maybe I can try my new skill?" He couldn't help but tensed up and shiver in excitement as he giddily walks towards the park.

....

A few moments later, he's currently standing in an isolated part of the park. It was quite dark with only the light of the moon illuminating the place.

He stood on the grassy soil staring in front of him. In a distance, around 30 feet away there's a tree which was quite thick and it looks old. But Matthew dont have any fucks left to give.

Smiling like a maniac, his hands began moving. Horse — his pinky and up to his middle finger curls and alternates together while his Index fingers remained straight touching the tips with the other. Then Rooster — his finger shifted and formed what appears to be a rock n roll hand but his middle finger and ring finger are touching together while curled. While his pinky and index remains straight and touching. And finally — Snake.. with a simple move, he clasp his hands together. And with a soft whisper, he looked at the targeted tree.

"Cut"

A faint noise could be heard.. it sounded like a gust of wind, whistling and surging forward and with a loud crash — barks and splinters were sent flying as the wind blade comes in contact with the tree.

It went and almost cut through the tree.. leaving only a few inches of connection left. A normal human would die with a single attack from him no questions ask.

But the question is, could he really kill?

.

.

.

.

It was morning. The sun is shining through the window. Waking up the sleeping Matthew with a groan.

He moved his head and turned it the other way. He was about to sleep again when he suddenly heard the door buzzer beeping.

Of course he ignored it hoping it'll go away soon. But minutes passed, the buzzer kept coming..

"This fucker" Matthew hissed, his eye bloodshot as he stood up and stumps his way towards the door and opened it. A man is standing there.

"The fuck do you want? It's early in the morning. Fucking leave me alone or I'll cut you apart" Matthew growled, his brows furrowed the corner of his lips twitching.

The man in front of him remained quiet and took out a phone.. fiddling with it for a bit he turned it towards Matthew.

"BITCH YOU AGREED!" The man yelled shoving the phone to his face and grabbing his collar.

Checking the screen he saw the conversation it was him message this guy about playing.

"Uhh... James?"
