The multi-story building is a roaring inferno. Flames lick at the windows, black smoke billows into the sky, and the air crackles with heat. Inferno, the fire villain, stands amidst the chaos, a manic grin plastered across his face. Flames dance around his fingertips as he surveys his handiwork.
Inferno isn't some career criminal. He's Kenjiro, a middle-aged man who dedicated fifteen years of his life to this company, only to be tossed aside like yesterday's trash. No severance, no benefits, just a pink slip and a pat on the back. And the reason? A "restructuring" that conveniently replaced him with a fresh-faced college graduate who, in his words, "wouldn't know hard work if it slapped her in the face with a stack of TPS reports."
"How do you like it now, huh?" Kenjiro cackles, directing a jet of flame towards a terrified office worker cowering behind a desk. "All those late nights, all those weekends I sacrificed! And for what? To be replaced by some bimbo who probably got the job because she bats her eyelashes at the boss!"
His Emitter-type Quirk allows him to manipulate existing flames and generate more, making him a walking, talking flamethrower. He started small, a discarded cigarette here, a faulty wiring there, but soon the entire building became his canvas of fiery vengeance.
He spots his boss, Mr. Tanaka, scrambling towards the emergency exit. "Tanaka! You think you can escape me?" Kenjiro bellows, unleashing a wave of fire that blocks Tanaka's path. "You think you can just throw me away like that? I practically built this company! I deserve respect!"
[WHOOSH]
A figure in red and silver armor appears in front of Tanaka, shielding him from the flames. Kenjiro blinks, momentarily taken aback. "A Pro Hero?" he mutters, squinting through the smoke. "Figures. Just when I'm having a little fun."
Kamen Rider Ryuki stands tall, his DragCrown helmet gleaming in the firelight. "Stop this," Ryuki commands, his voice amplified by the helmet's speakers. "This isn't the way."
Kenjiro scoffs. "Oh, I'm sorry, Mr. Hero," he says, dripping with sarcasm. "Is torching my workplace not socially acceptable? Should I have just sent a strongly worded email instead?"
He raises his hands, summoning a swirling vortex of fire. "You don't understand what it's like to be used, to be betrayed! I gave everything to this company, and they gave me nothing!"
Ryuki sighs. "I get being angry, but you're hurting innocent people. Stop the fire."
Kenjiro ignores him, spotting the young woman he mentioned earlier. "Speaking of innocent," Kenjiro says, aiming his hand at her. "What's so special about her? Why does she get all the breaks?"
Ryuki acts fast, diving in front of her just as Kenjiro unleashes a torrent of fire. The flames engulf Ryuki, obscuring him from view. Kenjiro cackles triumphantly.
"HA! Burn, you meddling hero! Burn!"
But as the flames recede, Ryuki stands unharmed, his armor unscorched. Kenjiro's jaw drops.
"Impossible…" he stammers, staring at Ryuki in disbelief. "How… how are you not burned to a crisp?"
He did not know that Ryuki's armor possesses flame resistance, a quality Ace would be grateful for, considering he lacks any personal immunity to heat. He'd be crispy fried bacon without Dragreder's scales to protect him every time he uses Final Vent.
Ryuki shakes his head. "I warned you that it doesn't have to end like this."
Kenjiro's panic escalates. "No, no, no! This isn't supposed to happen!"
He frantically throws fire in every direction, the flames growing more intense and erratic. Ryuki braces himself, powering through the inferno, unaffected by the heat. He closes the distance between himself and Kenjiro in a blur.
[SMACK]
One punch. That's all it takes. Ryuki's fist connects with Kenjiro's jaw, and the fire villain crumples to the ground, unconscious. He was a civilian a few minutes ago, and with Ryuki's help, he can easily knock him out. The flames around them begin to subside, the immediate threat neutralized.
Ryuki surveys the scene. The fire rages, but the immediate threat is gone. People cough and choke amidst the smoke, their faces streaked with soot and tears. He knows he can't leave them here.
He shoulders the unconscious Kenjiro, hoisting the dead weight onto his back. It's not exactly comfortable, but leaving him to burn isn't an option. Turning, he spots a group of office workers huddled near a collapsed stairwell, their faces etched with panic.
"Follow me!" Ryuki calls out, his voice echoing through the smoke-filled space. "I'll get you out of here!"
He moves with surprising speed and agility, weaving through the debris-strewn corridors, guiding the trapped civilians towards the nearest exit. The armor protects him from the heat, but he can feel the oppressive weight of the situation, the desperation of the people he's trying to save.
He reaches the ground floor, the exit blocked by a wall of flames. Without hesitation, Ryuki activates his Strike Vent card.
[STRIKE VENT]
Dragreder's head materializes on Ryuki's left arm, forming a gauntlet that crackles with fiery energy. He aims the gauntlet at the wall of flames and unleashes a powerful blast of compressed air, dispersing the fire and clearing a path.
"Go, go, go!" Ryuki urges, pushing the civilians towards the exit.
One by one, they stumble out into the fresh air, gasping and coughing, but safe. Ryuki deposits Kenjiro on the sidewalk, away from the immediate danger, and turns back to assist any remaining survivors.
He finds a young woman trapped beneath a fallen beam, her leg pinned. Ryuki kneels beside her, assessing the situation.
"I'm going to lift this beam," he says, his voice calm and reassuring. "Just tell me if it hurts too much."
He grips the beam, muscles straining, and with a grunt, he lifts it just enough for the woman to wriggle free. She cries out in pain, but manages to crawl away, supported by another rescuer.
Ryuki stands, wiping sweat from his brow. He scans the area, confirming that everyone has been evacuated. The rescued civilians gather on the sidewalk, watching Ryuki with awe and gratitude.
"Thank you, hero!" one of them cries out.
"You saved our lives!" another adds.
A chorus of cheers erupts, the crowd chanting. They didn't realize he was a vigilante.
Ryuki feels a warmth spread through him, a sense of satisfaction that transcends the adrenaline of battle. He's done his duty, protected the innocent.
But the moment is short-lived. A siren wails in the distance, growing louder with each passing second. Ryuki knows that the Pro Heroes are on their way.
Gotta go! Momotaros says inside Ace's head.
Let's get out of here, a graceful exit would be wise. But don't be too obvious. Urataros says.
We've done our part. Time to leave, Kintaros says.
Can we stay? I want to see if they'll give us a medal! Ryutaros whines.
"No, Ryutaros. We need to go. Now," Ace thinks, cutting off the Taros' bickering.
Ryuki turns to leave, but two figures land gracefully in front of him, their costumes shimmering with an aquatic theme.
The first, a woman with flowing blue hair and a streamlined suit, introduces herself. "I'm Siren, and this is Tsunami. Thanks for stepping in. We'll take it from here."
Siren's Quirk, Hydrokinesis, allows her to control and manipulate water, while Tsunami's Quirk, Tidal Wave, gives him the ability to generate powerful waves of water from his body.
Tsunami, a tall, muscular man with a blue and white suit, nods in agreement. "We appreciate the help, we'll put out the fire."
Ryuki nods curtly. "Just doing my duty." He glances at the crowd, then back at Siren and Tsunami, who were putting out the fire. "Glad I could help." He turns and walks away, disappearing into a nearby alleyway, leaving the two Pro Heroes to manage the aftermath.
The two water-based Pro Heroes, Siren and Tsunami, efficiently douse the remaining flames, their Quirks a symphony of controlled chaos. Ryuki, having disappeared into a side street, believes he has managed a clean escape.
[WHOOSH]
Kamui Woods lands, a figure of living timber amidst the lingering smoke. His wooden mask is angled towards the building, his keen eyes observing the orderly scene.
"Impressive work," Kamui Woods says, nodding to Siren and Tsunami. "Minimal damage, swift response. As expected."
Siren dips her head, and Tsunami grunts in acknowledgement.
"He was a big help," Siren pipes up, gesturing towards the alleyway where Ryuki disappeared. "Showed up just in time."
Kamui Woods stiffens, turning towards the alleyway. "He? What was his name?"
"We didn't ask," Tsunami booms. "Never seen him before."
Kamui Woods turns his wooden gaze towards the alleyway, his expression unreadable behind the mask. "You there!" he calls out, his voice carrying a surprising authority. "What's your Hero Name?"
Ryuki freezes, his hand hovering over his belt. He hadn't expected to be grilled by a Pro Hero, much less one as observant as Kamui Woods. He hesitates, stalling for time as he tries to formulate a convincing answer.
"Uh… Ryuki," he manages, the name feeling foreign on his tongue.
Kamui Woods' posture stiffens. "Ryuki? I've never heard of you," he says, his voice laced with suspicion. "What agency do you work for?"
Ryuki's heart pounds in his chest. He glances around, desperately searching for an escape route. His mind races, trying to conjure up a plausible agency name. He can feel sweat trickling down his brow beneath the helmet.
"Uh… the… uh… Rising Sun Agency?" he stammers, hoping the vague name will buy him some time.
Kamui Woods narrows his eyes, unconvinced by Ryuki's flimsy explanation. "Rising Sun Agency? That doesn't ring a bell," he says, his voice hardening. "Show me your Hero License."
Inside Ace's head, chaos erupts.
Crap, he's onto us! Time to bail! Momotaros roars, his impatience reaching a fever pitch.
Calm down, Senpai, Urataros interjects, his voice smooth and calculating. Let's think of a way out.
No time for thinking. Run, Kintaros says, his words blunt and decisive.
Can't we just fight him? He looks like a tree! Ryutaros whines, his childlike enthusiasm clashing with the severity of the situation.
No fighting. We're leaving. Now, Ace thinks, cutting through the Taros' cacophony. He knows that a confrontation with a Pro Hero would only complicate things further.
Ryuki takes a step back, feigning confusion. "Hero License? I, uh…"
He glances around again, spotting a gap in the crowd. This is his chance.
He takes off, bolting away from the scene, his armored boots pounding against the pavement. He hears Kamui Woods shout behind him.
"Hold on! You're not going anywhere until I see that license!"
He ignores the command, his legs pumping, his focus solely on escape. He can hear the distinct sounds of pursuit behind him, the whoosh of air as Siren and Tsunami launch themselves after him. He weaves through the crowd, using his agility to evade capture.
This situation goes from bad to worse!
