A random pokemon journey

Anyways with the Celebi now gone on it's way across regions through the pokenet to Birch I had no plans that needed addressing other than perhaps the ridiculously dangerous plan that Cyrus was cooking. That whole fucking mess was also not something I could just fix without a struggle and a good amount of time as no doubt Cyrus was squirreled away in what he believed to be a safe location. As much as I hated to admit it the fucker wasn't stupid. Despite how ill advised his plan was it was also feasible with some correction.-

His biggest miscalculation was not knowing about Giratina and underestimating the protagonist from the game. He had even with that miscalculation gotten REALLY fucking close to pulling it off. I certainly wasn't going to forget that he succeeded in shackling both Dialga and Palkia and if Giratina hadn't interfered may have caused them to try and take the world apart. He'd almost certainly fail once Arceus woke up from all that power being thrown around and put it's foot down but what about all the destruction they caused by then? How much of the world would be gone?-

The situation was way more desperate in reality as not only was the protagonist nowhere to be seen but Cyrus was absolutely not underestimating me if how quick he was to try and kill me off after learning I was here was anything to go off of. I couldn't even claim that him not sending at least an admin was cowardly as if anything it was pragmatic. I'd obviously kill them and he still needed them for his plan so sacrificing them wasn't worth it. According to my crime upgrade Jubilife was also suspiciously devoid of crime so I had nothing to focus on here.-

[Quest conditions established!

Description: In the pokecenter someone has put up a job that has more to it than meets the eye! Investigate the job: Strange plate!

Objectives: Investigate the strange plate, Obtain it(optional), find the rest(0/17)(optional)

Rewards: 1x ability ticket, 1x (????) plate(Optional), 1x evolution token(Optional)]

I froze mid step as the notification from the system appeared as I went to step out of the pokecenter. Reading the details made me break out in cold sweat as I had a VERY good idea what this "strange plate" was with the quest itself all but confirming it with the last optional objective.-

If I wasn't wrong it was one of the fragments of Arceus's power that took the form of a colored plate of stone that boosted the power of any pokemon of the corresponding typing that held it. The reason I was particularly nervous about this was that this was a thing with a direct tie to the big G itself. I wouldn't even be surprised to find out that it was able to effect the world through the things. My biggest problem with this quest though was that I was really fucking tempted by that evolution token.-

I still had one that I hadn't used yet in my bag but I had long since decided that that would be used on Cratos to evolve him once his strength reached an acceptable level. My Feebas simply had no hope for evolving on his own with the shackle of his genetics being what they are. This meant he would be left behind and limited for the rest of his life which I deemed unacceptable. It was not his fault that he was how he was and I refused to allow it to be the reason he fails to become what I know he can be, limitless.-

Cratos could use all the typings and could switch between them as well which swapped his resistances and affinities as he did so. The only limitation he had was that his genetics capped his power at the high end of the ace level since his species was only supposed to be able to grow like a normal pokemon after evolving to their second stage. If he were a normal Feebas this would mean the lower end of ace would be his limit but his unique situation raised the limit but didn't remove it.-

Anyways I had been wondering how I could get another token so that I could evolve my own race again and this solved that problem for me. I didn't need to evolve any of my other pokemon and my aura and skills could be improved through the system and my own effort so using it there would be wasteful. Using it on an item was even more wasteful and as a thing from the system it couldn't be used to evolve the system so the best option was to use it on myself to evolve my race again.-

I knew that high humans were the higher form of humanity and thus that was what I evolved into previously but I had no idea what came after that. It could be an elf if I went off of other forms of media from earth but without actually taking that leap I had no idea. With a sigh of acceptance I turned around and went back into the pokecenter. The joy at the counter looked at me confused and concerned "Is there something wrong sir?" she asked politely.-

"No no it's fine, I just almost forgot that I came in here to look at the jobs but happened to remember before I got too far away." I lied with an embarrassed smile. She visibly relaxed after hearing that "I see, it happens to the best of us I suppose. Now then if you'll give me a moment I'll retrieve the list of jobs that if I'm not mistaken just got updated." the pinkette said with a friendly smile as she went to work. It only took her a few minutes to come back with the stack of papers with the jobs and their descriptions on them.-

I looked through them and quickly found the one I was after that was posted by someone who was mining in the underground and dug up the plate but couldn't make heads or tails of it or the writing on it's back. They weren't offering much for the information on it but simply wanted to know what they had out of curiosity. "I'll take this one please." I said calmly as I put the paper on the desk in front of the Joy.
