Have a good day :)

...

Thank you.

I don't know if they were words meant to comfort me or if the system really did something to make my words reach where Victor is today; but at least I've already told you everything I had to say.

"Thank you, Jacob. Those words have been... the most beautiful thing I've ever heard" – said Bronwyn.

Again she was on the verge of tears, no, she was already shedding some tears. However, they were not tears of sadness, but of happiness, the words that Jacob dedicated to her brother Victor were precious and in them, Jacob's desire to protect her, the love he had for her and his desire to be together forever were perfectly expressed.

"Brother, as you can see, I've already found someone I love and from now on I'll be fine, so rest in peace wherever you are" – said Bronwyn.

She seemed happy and sad at the same time and a bright smile could be seen on her face as a few tears fell from her precious eyes.

The atmosphere seemed quite... calm, all in complete silence, but soon after, the silence was interrupted by someone.

"They were very nice words that I just heard" – someone said.

We both looked alarmed towards the entrance, but when we saw that it was Enoch, we simply calmed down.

"Enoch. What are you doing here? You know we're not allowed to be here" - Bronwyn said.

She didn't look furious or anything like that, only curious about what Enoch could have come to do.

"I could tell you exactly the same thing" – Enoch said calmly.

"I just wanted to introduce my brother to Jacob, I wanted them to meet; nothing more" - Bronwyn said.

"And I admit it, they were very nice words. And by the way, congratulations on becoming a couple" – Enoch said.

Enoch didn't seem to make any expressions, as if he had no interest in the conversation, however, I already knew that he was like that. It's not that he was evil or anything like that, this is his way of speaking and acting, but inside him, he also cares a lot about his family and, for him, it is the most important thing, his family's safety is the most important thing.

"How long have you been listening?" – I asked curiously.

"Since your precious speech. Very nice words, by the way" – said Enoch.

Even he, who normally showed no interest in this kind of matter, had to admit that they had been very nice words.

"Thank you; I guess" – I said.

"By the way and since we are here... Would you like me to revive Victor a few minutes? Normally I would not do it because reviving a human even for a few seconds takes many hearts, of which I do not have many now, but your words have touched me and I could make an exception; but only for once" – Enoch said.

Exactly the same thing happened in books, only the situation was completely different. For starters, Jacob never went on a date with Bronwyn and second, it was Enoch who brought Jacob into this room. Enoch wanted to scare Jacob by reviving Victor, believing that he temporarily revived Victor could explain to him the reason for his death.

"No, there's no need. In addition, whenever he comes he is eager to leave, I think it's best to let him rest; forever" – said Bronwyn.

Enoch was surprised at Bronwyn's words and quite a bit. From time to time, Bronwyn would always ask Enoch to temporarily revive her brother to talk with him for a few seconds, but when Victor came back to life, he always seemed to want to go back to where he had been. Still, Bronwyn didn't care and kept asking Enoch to revive him from time to time. He always refused, but after a couple of favors he used to ask Bronwyn (such as hunting animals to extract their hearts), he would revive Victor for a few seconds so that she could talk to him.

"Wow. Does that mean you'll never ask me to revive him again?" – Enoch asked surprised.

"That's right. I think the time has come to let him rest" – Bronwyn nodded.

Now, with Jacob, she would never feel alone again. One of the main reasons why she used to ask Enoch to revive Victor is because, at times, she felt lonely without him, that's why she wanted to talk with him, even if it was only for a few seconds, but Victor was never very receptive to respect and always wanted to return to where he came from. Still, just hearing his voice was enough for Bronwyn.

"I see... then better for me. Reviving a human requires a lot of hearts and I can only do it for a couple of minutes at most" - Enoch said.

I don't get it. If when a person dies, he/she reincarnates... How is it possible that Enoch is able to revive the dead; even if it's just a couple of minutes?

[Enoch's peculiarity is very special. For starters, he doesn't exactly revives the dead.]

No, and what does he do?

[It takes the soul out of the new body in which the person was reincarnated and puts it back into its old body. The soul returned to its old body recovers its old memories and temporarily forgets the new ones]

Then: Why does Bronwyn say that he always wants to go back wherever he wants to go back?

[Even though he doesn't remember anything, the reason he wants to go back is because he's already dead and his soul belongs to another body. He has another life (although he doesn't remember it temporarily, I mean). That is why, in his body, within his soul remains the desire to return to his new life, whether good or bad]

So the peculiarity of Enoch is OP.

[Yes. It's an extremely rare peculiarity, but also a taboo. In fact, if his internal clock didn't reset daily, every time he used his peculiarity, he would lose a day of life.]

Seriously?

[Yes. Bringing the soul of someone reincarnated into their old body is an atrocity, one day for each resurrection is the price to pay, unless he creates artificial souls. In that case he will not lose days of life]

You mean when he does clay puppets and things like that?

[That's right. In that case, and since they are artificial and temporary souls, nothing would happen, but whether he revives the deads is another matter; as I have said before]

"I will also propose to Miss Peregrine to perform a proper burial for him" - said Bronwyn.

"You know that even if you do that, he will come back to this place when the day restarts" – Enoch said.

"I know, but he deserves to have a funeral and let him rest in peace" - Bronwyn said.

Bronwyn knew it was time to let her brother rest, the time had come to stop reviving him and let him rest in peace. Until now she had not wanted to accept her brother's death, but thanks to Jacob and his love, his desire for protection (even if it sounds corny), she realized that her brother deserved to rest once and for all. And despite Victor would return to that bed every day after the restart, Bronwyn believed that even then, a funeral should be held; thus his soul could rest in peace.

"Do what you want then. Anyway, I'll be back, dinner is coming soon and I have something I want to do before that" - Enoch said.

Then, he looked at Victor for a moment.

"Rest in peace, my friend" – said Enoch.

And then, he turned around and left.

Even he, who normally acts quite upset, also felt pain over his friend's death and every time he relived him he also got emotional, but as Bronwyn said, the time had come to let him rest; forever.

"It seems that even he has his side... soft" – I said somewhat surprised.

"Yes, although he does not show it, Enoch appreciates us all very much; Including you" – Bronwyn nodded.

"Do you mean I'm part of the family now?" – I asked.

I already know the answer, but hearing those words always cheers me up.

"Of course. Did you doubt it? You're one of us, Jacob. Part of our family... and my lover" – Bronwyn said grabbing my arm.

Then, we headed to the door to leave. It was time to leave and say goodbye, but before we left, we both turned.

"It has been a pleasure to meet you, Victor. I hope you rest wherever you are right now" – I said.

"Goodbye, brother; Rest in peace..." – Bronwyn said.

And after shedding a tear, we both left the room.

Later.

As happened with Fiona, we did not reveal to anyone the new nature of our relationship. Although surely this very night, after my departure, the girls would find out about my new relationship with Bronwyn; so hiding it was foolish.

In addition, and since Enoch had also found out, it was also likely that the boys would find out, so even if we didn't tell them during dinner, the only thing we did was delay the inevitable.

Anyway, after a nice dinner, it was time to say goodbye to everyone to go to the present and to that filthy hotel with my father who seemed to suffer from depression. I just hope these weeks go by quickly because I want to stay here forever. Although... I have a feeling that there is something more. What's more, there must be, after all I remember that there were 6 books; Doesn't that mean something unexpected will happen? Probably yes and I'll be attentive to it, but at this moment it's not worth thinking about that one all the time because my memories remain sealed and I have no idea what's going to happen.

With that said, and after saying goodbye to everyone, I crossed the loop and went straight towards the hotel while trying not to think about how cold I felt.
