A fortune-telling princess

Chapter 51

Amidst the scattered items lay a small, transparent orb. It was a magical recording orb, capable of capturing and replaying images like a camera.

This is the least I should prepare.

From the moment she received Professor JB’s invitation, Camilla had instructed Luve to install these recording orbs throughout the premises. If she was going to be bait, she needed solid evidence to seal the deal.

“This is the first time I’ve felt this nervous,” Luve murmured, glancing down at his hands, which were slick with sweat.

Before coming here, Camilla had given him strict orders: no matter what happened, he was not to intervene until she called for him.

Even after hearing her entire plan, Luve had struggled to abide by her command. Watching Camilla feign unconsciousness after taking the drug, and seeing JB’s hands close around her throat, had pushed him to the edge of his patience.

“You’ve done well.”

Camilla offered a casual remark to Luve, though she knew the operation wouldn’t have been possible without him.

Her initial motivation had been simple—she couldn’t stand the idea of a murderer lurking nearby. But she had no desire to risk her life for the resolution.

That’s why I needed safeguards.

And Luve was that safeguard.

According to the information provided by Derin, Luve was an exceptional fighter—more than capable of handling himself. He hadn’t been appointed head of Black Shadow for nothing.

With the ordeal now over, Camilla walked toward a black box she had noticed when she first entered the room.

Click.

Inside the box were various items—hairpins, necklaces, and bracelets.

And a pair of violet earrings.

Camilla’s gaze shifted back to Professor JB, who was surrounded by the ghostly women he had murdered. They were weeping bitterly, their sorrow now overflowing as the truth behind their deaths finally came to light.

Like something out of a horror story.

The items in the box had all belonged to the victims. After killing them, JB had taken one of their possessions as a keepsake, storing them in this macabre collection.

What a sick bastard.

Camilla reaffirmed her conclusion—JB was a psychopathic killer far beyond reason or redemption.

“I’ll leave the rest to you,” she said.

“Understood.”

She handed Luve the recording orbs and the mementos of the victims.

With the evidence and aftermath in Luve’s capable hands, Camilla finally exhaled a long sigh of relief.
