2nd Primarch

Chapter 80: Thank you, Skarbrand

Looking at the big demon that appeared in front of him, Dukel thought it was the Imperial Double-Headed Eagle that had ascended to demonhood at first glance. After a closer look, he found that it was the Ever-changing Demon Lord, Carlos.

Along with the appearance of the Great Demon, countless Tzeentch demons emerged from the darkness.

The former Lord of Destiny was distressed because he knew everything about the past and the present, but could not perfectly foresee the future. So, he came to the Well of Eternity at the center of the real universe, hoping to gain the ability to foresee the future.

However, Tzeentch did not dare to jump in himself, so he tricked his Lords of Change into jumping into the Well of Eternity one after another, but none could return.

Until the appearance of Carlos, who crawled out of the Well of Eternity alive. It had become extremely old, and in the eyes of the demons, it had gone completely mad and grown another head.

From then on, it knew the past and the future, but could not see the present.

When asked a question, one of its heads would tell the truth and the other would tell an equally believable lie.

But Dukel didn't believe a word it said.

"Carlos, since you know the future, do you think these chains can trap me?"

"This is a chain made of your anger, faith, and hope," one of Carlos' heads responded immediately. The other head paused before adding, "You can't break free."

"Wrong answer, you are lying, Carlos." The Primarch walked forward easily, and the psychic chains stretched straight as he moved, making a "creaking" sound under the heavy weight.

"Since I came into this world, I have been a soldier crossing the river, a wheel of eternal progress. In fact, I have never been an enemy of anyone, but I have never been away from battle. I have never held hope, but I have saved countless comrades. My flame has never been truly angry, but it has burned countless souls."

"You know why, Carlos? Because I'm moving forward, and you're in my way. So, I'm going to crush you—simple as that."

As Dukel's voice fell, the psychic chains binding his body let out their final wail. The chains, pulled taut, reached their limit and broke apart, shattering into countless psychic light particles.

"You..." One of Carlos' heads wanted to say something, but was interrupted by the other head's scream, "You are not the second Primarch! Where did you come from?! The direction of the fate fragment is blurred again—who are you?!!"

"Hahaha, Carlos, everyone says you're crazy, but I think you're quite normal." Dukel said with a smile.

"Because you're all crazy, you can resonate with each other?" Magnus, who was hanging from the Primarch's waist, seized the opportunity to complain.

"It's quite interesting to chat with you, but unfortunately, no one cares what a madman says." Dukel raised his chainsaw sword and pointed it at the big demon not far away.

"Impossible." "This can't be true." "Destiny has gone away." "What on earth went wrong?"

Carlos did not answer. Its two bird-shaped heads collided with each other, as if it had learned something from the original body's words that they could not understand or describe.

It stood there like a madman, talking to itself incessantly; its limbs were flailing wildly, and its wide robe swayed constantly.

So much so that it did not even notice the Primarch rapidly approaching, and could have chopped off its two heads in the next second.

Just as Dukel's chainsaw sword was about to swing down...

Gulu—

A crystal ball rolled out from Carlos's wide robe.

At the moment it rolled, the crystal ball suddenly exploded, accompanied by a familiar, strange laugh. The cage constructed by psychic energy captured Dukel inside.

The still-swinging chainsaw sword was blocked by the cage. If it weren't for this sudden change, Carlos would have been killed completely in the next instant.

Clang!

The energy carried by the chainsaw sword exploded upon collision, and the impact even blew away the big demon that was close at hand. However, it did not split the seemingly fragile psychic cage in front of it, which appeared to be made of crystal.

Carlos, who was blown away by the violent force, silently climbed up from the ground.

It stopped talking and silently commanded the Tzeentch demons to attack together—countless vicious spells were unleashed by the demons, falling on the Primarch in the crystal cage like fine raindrops.

A magical scene appeared. The cage, which could not be shaken by the power of the Primarch, was easily penetrated by these spells, falling on Dukel with incredible precision.

The translucent mental force field was shaking under such intensive spell attacks.

Looking at the constantly vibrating mental force field in front of him, Magnus' head laughed almost crazily. "Hahahaha, as expected, everything in the universe cannot escape the manipulation of the Lord of Fate. The same goes for you, Dukel. There are only two paths before you—destruction here, or offering your soul to my Lord!"

"Stop talking nonsense and show me how to break this spell." As he spoke, the Primarch took Magnus' head off his waist.

Dukel only had a superficial understanding of psychic energy, and facing spells that could not be broken by brute force, he had no better solution.

But fortunately, he had someone who understood.

Driven by the power of the mind, Magnus's single eye suddenly emitted light of different colors. Under the illumination of the light, the psychic nodes hidden in the crystal cage lit up one by one; the hidden runes appeared, leaping in the crystal cage like elves.

"Duke, you deserve to die!" Magnus said this with gritted teeth—but soon, he was completely absorbed by the profound runes in front of him. Exploring the mysteries of Tzeentch up close was a rare opportunity for the Demon Prince.

"So, how do we break this spell?" Dukel asked.

"Well, it can only be broken after suffering strong physical damage from the outside world. Maybe my lord's magic is too profound; I need to study it further."

"Waste."

Dukel simply hung Magnus's head back around his waist.

"Come on, brother. Let me take a look at the runes again. I beg you." Magnus, who remained silent even when his head was chopped off, pleaded with his brother for the first time.

"Duke, don't you want to get out of here?"

"No need, Magnus. Although I don't have the ability to predict the future, as a warrior, intuition is often more trustworthy than prophecy."
