Chapter 109: 17-1

111 Bugs

It's bad. I gave too much... Alice watched the coffin bearer take back the coins reluctantly. She glanced at the little girl next to her and decided to maintain her image and put the blame on Klein.

The feeling of lying in the coffin was actually not that interesting. After the novelty wore off, Alice began to want to leave.

But when she thought of her gold coin, she felt reluctant to part with it. She lay in the coffin in a state of confusion, gritting her teeth.

As she was thinking, a familiar gray fog suddenly enveloped her. She heard Klein's curious voice:

"Alice, come to think of it, have I never asked you what you have seen in me?"

This was the question that came to Klein's mind after he caught a "winner" doll.

When Alice first heard Klein's question, she was stunned.

What did she see? She saw the fog around Sefirah Castle and what it represented.

——The "Lord of Mysteries".

But she couldn't tell Klein this. Alice frowned, hesitated for two seconds, and then, while Klein hadn't returned to the real world yet, she simply lay in the coffin and went above the gray fog.

Alice blinked at Klein's puzzled gaze and told him,

"I can't tell you what it means... but if you're curious, I can visualize those scenes - with the gray fog blocking it, it shouldn't get you into trouble.

"And, um…

"Maybe I can mosaic some patterns and symbols? Anyway, you just need to see the general shape, right?"

This can be said to be covered up tightly. Klein thought about it and confirmed with Alice:

"The things behind that are also information that only angels can know?"

Alice explained:

"Almost, right? Because you can't hide your specialness. The Beyonders of the Monster Path can directly see the gray fog around you through you, as well as what that gray fog represents..."

After pausing for two seconds, she looked at Klein and told him solemnly:

"That is, the real owner of this castle."

Klein's breathing suddenly quickened. He pressed his hand against the tabletop and stared at Alice. He wanted to say something, but after his voice changed several times, it finally turned into the original question:

"I want to see the specific picture."

"Okay." Alice nodded and materialized the scene with Klein's help.

That was what she saw through the mist on Klein's body. It was also the scene that Alice had to see every time she tried to climb up to the Sefirah Castle—light gates stained with a little blue-black, countless light balls, transparent and translucent worms huddled together, and countless complex patterns and symbols.

Of course, those patterns and symbols were blurred by Alice.

Klein frowned as he observed the scene. His eyes first fell on the ball of light. With a strange expression, he told Alice:

"…This is the scene for my meditation."

Alice put her hand to her forehead.

Klein went to observe the light gate and the two different worms. Alice, who had seen them many times, was obviously very familiar with these things. The images she conjured were very realistic, and Klein saw something familiar in them:

"...Time Worm?"

"Yes," Alice nodded, "The Time Worm, and the Gate...wait a moment."

Her voice suddenly stopped, and she stared at Klein as if she had thought of something terrifying.

Klein was also made nervous by her attitude. He asked hesitantly,

"What's wrong?"

Alice swallowed hard, looked at the transparent worms with a gloomy look, and replied with a distorted expression:

"I think I know what your mythical creature form is."

Klein followed her gaze towards the pile of transparent worms. His expression also became strange. He asked hesitantly:

"I'll turn into... a bug?"

Alice shook her head and said in a heavy tone:

"It's not a bug, it's…

"Well... from what I've seen of Amon and Pales, you're going to turn into a pile of bugs."

Klein took a breath of horror.

This was quite terrifying for him who was still a human being. It was hard for him to imagine that he would become a group of transparent worms hugging each other in the future. Just thinking about it made him feel that his sanity was seriously threatened.

At this time, Klein felt that it would be better for him to turn into some kind of furry animal.

He glanced at Alice. Even though the Alice in front of him could be called a "mercury snake" in human skin, Klein didn't feel much psychological comfort - turning into a snake at least sounded more acceptable than turning into a ball of insects.

"Don't worry," Alice soothed calmly, "Look at the bright side, at least you won't have to worry about a big belly when you're pregnant with me, and you can put fewer bugs in your belly."

"...?" This unique consolation made Klein look at Alice. After the corner of his mouth twitched, his expression became even weirder. "Alice, you don't like playing with bugs, do you?"

Alice recalled the feeling of the Time Worm crawling on her hand. She shook her head quickly, then stopped and said hesitantly:

"wrong...

"I'm not actually afraid of bugs. I'm afraid of the Time Bug because..."

That's Amon.

Klein understood the reason without her saying it. He realized that Alice would never be afraid of him, so he asked hesitantly:

"So, do you like playing with bugs?"

Alice looked at Klein who was lost in thought.

They were silent for a dozen seconds before Klein changed the subject:

"By the way, can you still locate Ludwell? It's 'Admiral of Hell'."

Considering Alice's intermittent memory, Klein deliberately emphasized Ludwell's title. Alice slapped her head and remembered this person. She greeted Klein and briefly left the gray fog.

After confirming in the real world, Alice returned to Sefirah Castle and nodded.

"Yes, you want to find him?"

Klein nodded and said, "Maybe soon."

Alice made an "OK" gesture.

They chatted for a few more minutes, and Alice remembered that she was still lying in the coffin. In order to prevent the pallbearers from really thinking that she was dead, she returned to the real world.

Klein watched Alice disappear and swore in his heart that he would never reveal his mythical creature form in front of Alice again.

——He always felt that Alice would reach out and grab a handful, or pick up a few of them to play with.

...I hope she doesn't accidentally crush her to death.

Klein sighed and couldn't help but draw a scarlet moon logo on his chest, praying sincerely to the goddess who shared the same suffering.

Klein met Mr. Azik on the second day.

It had been a long time since he last saw Mr. Azik. Klein showed a look of surprise when he first saw him. After a few breaths, he suddenly noticed that Mr. Azik was standing next to the doll.

This is because of the positioning medium... Klein, who knew many angels at the same time, quickly reacted to this matter and realized that Mr. Azik actually relied on the copper whistle to locate him. He couldn't help but imagine the scene of Mr. Azik grabbing the doll and walking away.

...You should pay more attention next time.

He closed his eyes, and Mr. Azik looked at his new face and said,

"Are you ready?"

Preparation... Of course I don't have any... Klein smiled without any guilt and told Mr. Azik:

"The method to locate Ludwell is with Alice. I have to call her."

When he heard the name, Mr. Azik paused, looked up at Klein, and asked hesitantly,

"...Circus?"

This was his most profound impression of the name.

The corner of Klein's mouth twitched, revealing an awkward yet polite smile.

Mr. Azik looked away from him and said calmly:

"You contact her.

"By the way, are your gloves sealed?"

Klein mentioned this to Mr. Azik. He showed a "crying hunger" and explained,

"This is a seal made by Alice..."

Mr. Azik's eyes fell on the gloves, and after a few breaths, he retracted his gaze and nodded.

Klein immediately told Azik about his divination dream as a warning, of course he covered up a few things in the middle. Azik nodded calmly, expressing his importance, and finally asked:

"How are you going to contact her?"

Crane responded, "I can pray to her."

Azik's gaze froze for a moment, and he seemed to want to ask something, but in the end he said nothing, only nodded, motioning him to start.

Klein lowered his head and prayed to Alice in front of Mr. Azik. He could sense that when he heard the three-part honorific name, Mr. Azik's gaze froze for a moment.

Alice's figure soon solidified beside her. She blinked and soon saw the legendary Mr. Azik.

Their only meeting happened when Alice pushed open the grave and climbed out for the first time. Alice did not forget the person who watched her climb out of the coffin and watched Klein climb out with her. She was silent for two seconds and showed an equally awkward but polite smile:

"Hi."

Mr. Azik's eyes fell on her, his brows furrowed a little, and he asked thoughtfully:

"Miss Destiny?"

Alice turned to look at Klein.

Klein turned to Mr. Azik and said to him,

"There is only one preparation left, and that is to confirm that 'Admiral of Hell' Ludwell is not in a dangerous place, and there are no demigods of the Spiritual Cult around."

After hearing this, Alice immediately raised her hand and said, "I can confirm it!"

Azik and Klein were not surprised by this. They all looked at Alice. Alice closed her eyes and found the long-lost monocle. She was very happy to find that Amon was not around.

Of course, this was not the primary object of observation. She walked around again, then opened her eyes and said to them,

"It's safe over there."

Azik and Klein nodded at the same time, and then stood there with Alice, looking at each other. After a few seconds, Alice asked sincerely:

"Should I lead the way or just take you there?"

Mr. Azik was silent for two seconds before replying, "...You can just take us there."

Alice suddenly realized what was going on and reached out her hand. Then she looked at the three people in front of her in silence for a second, then turned to Klein and asked:

"Can you take your doll yourself?"

Klein reached out and grabbed his doll without saying a word.

Alice took them on a journey, and soon they returned to the real world.

After Klein stood firm, he looked around. This was an environment he was quite familiar with. There was a huge ship with a dark green tint in the darkness, a pale mainsail with a black tulip painted on it, and undead creatures such as zombies, skeletons, resentful spirits, and shadows that were maneuvering the sails, patrolling back and forth, or practicing artillery. All of these proved that this was the flagship of the "Admiral of Hell," the "Black Tulip."

Alice was also observing her surroundings. The difference from what she saw last time was that there were many living Extraordinary People on the "Black Tulip" this time.

The captain, "Admiral of Hell" Ludwell, who was wearing a thin rapier on his waist, a lace shirt, a gorgeous coat, a three-cornered hat with a white skull on it, and a silver-white mask on his face, was standing at the entrance of the cabin and looking over here.

Suddenly, the square black ring on Ludwell's right hand vibrated slightly, and a light flashed.

The pale flame in the eyes of this proud pirate general flickered noticeably and finally shrank to the extreme.

Then, Ludwell bent his back, and in front of the crew's dull, surprised or lifeless gazes, he faced Azik Eggers, prostrated himself on the ground, and kissed the deck.

Alice looked at this scene in amazement, opened her mouth wide, and uttered a word of praise to Azik Eggers:

"So cool."

This is almost what Klein feels.

He had guessed several possible reactions of Ludwell, such as there was a demigod lurking on the ship, or he was unprepared and was easily defeated by Mr. Azik. He never expected that the other party would kneel down and beg for mercy as soon as they met.

He and Alice stood there in shock. Alice looked at Mr. Azik seriously. Azik raised his hand and pressed down the silk hat on his head. He walked towards Ludwell who was kneeling on the ground at a moderate pace.

One step, two steps, three steps, he stopped in front of "Hell General" Ludwell and said in a low voice:

"What stage has the Spiritual Cult's plan to create a man-made death god reached?"

Ludwell pressed his forehead firmly against the ground and answered hoarsely,

"The artificial death god can actively influence the high-sequence ones who failed to be promoted, but it is still unable to respond to prayers and rituals..."

After finishing the description, he slightly raised his upper body, took off the square dark ring on his right hand, held it in both hands, and handed it forward.

Alice looked at Ludwell in amazement, who was clearly awake but acted worse than being controlled. After the ring flew into Mr. Azik's palm, she asked,

"If your attitude towards Him is because He is an angel, then I am also an angel, why don't you kneel down to me?"

Klein turned his head and looked at Alice in astonishment.

Mr. Azik did not move. He turned his eyes away from Ludwell, who did not dare to raise his head, and explained to Alice:

"The high sequence of the 'Death God' pathway has a strong suppression on the low sequence." (End of this chapter)

112 Confession

Oh...Alice suddenly realized and nodded.

After explaining, Azik looked down at the ring on his palm. After examining it for a few seconds, he picked up the ring and put it on the index finger of his left hand.

Suddenly, an indescribable, horrifying, and superior feeling spread from him. The zombies and skeletons, some naked and some wearing tattered leather armor, all knelt on one knee and lowered their heads, as if they only dared to look directly at his leather boots. The flying resentful souls and shadows also fell to the ground, clinging to the deck. None of them floated in the air anymore.

The rest of the pirates on the ship fell to the ground one after another, burying their faces on the deck, not daring to lift them up at all.

So cool... Alice looked at Azik's back in amazement and had an urge to take the ring and try it on.

Azik took two more steps forward and came to the side of the "Admiral of Hell". Then he turned around, faced Klein, and said to Ludwell:

"You will be his secret puppet for one year. When the time limit is up, you can return to the spirit world."

"You actually let him go back?!" Alice blurted out.

Ludwell's body, which was originally shaking with anger and unwillingness, froze. He leaned down, pressed his forehead against the deck, and spoke quickly:

"Yes, the great Archon of Death."

Klein looked at Alice with mixed feelings. Mr. Azik also stopped and looked at her. Alice subconsciously covered her mouth with her hand in the face of these two looks. Azik's gaze on her paused for a moment, then smoothly fell on Klein.

Klein looked back at Mr. Azik blankly. After a few seconds of silence, Azik withdrew his gaze and shifted his attention back to Ludwell.

Alice blinked in confusion, realizing that her performance just now might have been a little too embarrassing.

Fortunately, Azik's attention was not on this. The mysterious symbols rendered in pale white and dark green stood out one after another, interweaving together to form an illusory bronze gate.

The bronze door shrank rapidly, falling to the forehead of Admiral Hell and going in. Then, Azik turned his head, nodded at Klein, and pointed at Ludville.

Klein walked forward with a blank expression and manipulated Ludwell's spiritual thread. Alice tilted her head and looked for the monocle she had left on the boat.

I will return it to Amon when the time comes... No, I will give it to Will Auceptin when the time comes!

Alice tossed the monocle in her hand, then frowned as she recalled Amon's ambiguous words.

She still hadn't figured out Amon's purpose, but ever since she began to doubt the relationship between the "Key of Light" and the "Lord of Mysteries", Alice thought that whether she could figure it out might not matter.

After all, it seems that it is not she and Amon who really decide the direction of things. Although these two beings seem to be no different from dead now, considering the ability shown by the "Prophet" and the possible influence of the "Lord of Mysteries" on fate, Alice believes that the outcome of this matter may have been predetermined.

Of course, this doesn't mean that she doesn't need to work hard. Alice suspects that if she doesn't have the right strength or do the right thing at the right time, then nothing good will happen to her.

In other words, for her, perhaps working too hard or being too bad are not good things, and the truly advantageous option is "just right".

But how do we determine what is just right?

Alice sighed, realizing that there was only one possible answer to this question—fate would tell her.

Alice gathered her thoughts and asked Klein and Azik, who had already turned Ludwell into a puppet,

"What are you going to do next?"

Alice got the answer herself without responding. She saw a thick darkness on Azik's body, and a slender white female hand stretched out from the darkness.

Alice's body stiffened because of that hand. Her intuition told her that there was a scary person behind that hand whom she absolutely didn't want to see right now.

But Alice inexplicably wanted to see the whole picture, so, as the two different ideas were torn between each other, a figure appeared along with the palm.

It was a female face. She was wearing a star-like skirt. Her face was beautiful but her eyes were dull. Alice's gaze froze for a moment, and then she met those lifeless eyes.

The image faded away. Alice was stunned for two seconds, then looked at Azik and Klein who were still in front of her. She took a deep breath and uttered a crisp word:

"goodbye."

Klein and Azik looked at her in confusion, but Alice didn't explain. She just raised her hand and drew a crimson moon symbol on her chest, and said devoutly:

"Praise the goddess."

"...?" Klein's gaze was fixed on her. He seemed to realize something and was about to speak when Alice disappeared right on the spot.

She did not go home, but appeared directly in the hidden street near St. Samuel Church. Then Alice walked out of the street and walked into the church without hesitation. After pausing for a moment at the door of the church, she muttered in a low voice:

"Maybe I should go to the confessional... but the content of my confession might scare the bishop sitting opposite me to death."

Alice shook her head, sat on the bench, closed her eyes and prayed in her heart.

Goddess, I will never pinch your face without your permission again, even if it is the face of a vessel of God, really...

I must ask for your permission before pinching...

After Alice left, Azik turned to look at Klein and asked with a frown:

"What did she mean at the end?"

Klein withdrew his gaze silently. He could guess that Alice must have seen something, and it was probably related to the goddess. It seemed as if she had been warned and didn't dare to say anything.

But if he asked Klein what Alice had seen specifically, he couldn't think of it, so he thought about it and said to Mr. Azik,

"She should have seen something."

Mr. Azik was silent for a moment, then he withdrew his gaze from him and said coldly:

"We're going to the Raging Sea.

"Give me that brass whistle."

"Okay." Klein handed over the whistle guiltily.

Bayam, outside a house near the port.

Alice, Alger, and Admiral of the Stars Cattleya were patiently waiting for the people inside to enjoy dinner.

Prior to Cattleya's arrival and meeting, Alger had actually contacted Alice, including the information search process in between.

But Alice wasn't interested in any of this. She agreed just to watch the fun. Alger was well aware of this and he no longer had any expectations after the report.

It wasn't until tonight's operation that Alice finally showed up on the scene.

Alice, who hadn't heard the plan or discussion, actually didn't know how they were going to act. She looked at Alger and Cattleya and found that Alger also seemed to be hesitant to speak.

Alice soon realized that Alger didn't know the details of the operation, so she lost interest in asking and just looked at Alger without saying anything.

Alger received the information from her eyes and turned to the Hermit Cattleya. Just as he was about to ask, a figure suddenly emerged from the shadows.

When Alice saw the tall, pale, and sickly figure, she blinked and gave his name:

"Heath Doyle?"

"Miss Destiny." Heath Doyle saluted her respectfully.

Alice waved her hand and stepped back, leaving the main court to Cattleya.

Heath then looked at Cattleya and said to her,

"Captain, they didn't notice anything unusual. They made the mushrooms into a creamy soup and prepared fried meat and fish as the main course for tonight."

"Very good." Cattleya took off the heavy glasses on her nose and looked towards the restaurant in the house that was blocked by a wall with her mysterious purple eyes.

Heath Doyle didn't say a word. His figure darkened instantly and returned to the shadows, disappearing somewhere unknown.

Mushrooms...fish...Alice's eyebrows jumped, and she remembered the "Creeping Hunger" that had been sealed again, and looked at Cattleya with fear in her eyes.

As if receiving her gaze, Cattleya nodded at her.

Alice swallowed in horror.

To Alger, the Hanged Man, this exchange was no different from playing a guessing game. Although he realized that the core of tonight's operation was mushrooms, and they were poisonous mushrooms, he still hadn't figured out more details. He hesitated and asked:

"Will this lead to the death of 'Craftsman' Sharf?"

Wild "craftsmen" are quite rare, and Alger does not want to lose such a "friend" while there is still room for maneuver. For him, the most ideal solution is to imprison this guy and make him a "craftsman" exclusively for himself and the "Hermit".

"No." Cattleya shook her head calmly and explained casually, "Both the intelligence you provided and the details observed by my crew mentioned that Sharf doesn't like to eat fish. He even hates it. This may be related to the fact that a fish bone got stuck in his throat when he was a child."

Alice swallowed again and decided that she would never eat fish when eating mushrooms in the future.

"I hate eating fish..." Alger whispered. He glanced at Alice who was swallowing her saliva, and then at the "Hermit" Cattleya. He felt that these two people seemed to have some secret and excluded him.

He was confused, but did not ask, deciding to observe first.

Her figure instantly became transparent, as if she had turned into a statue made up of countless starlight.

The statue shattered at once, and bright starlight surged, suddenly arriving at the door of the house and crawling in through the gap.

The starlight reunited inside, and Cattleya's figure appeared.

Then she heard the sound of wind and bangs.

The door frame shook, the door opened, and the hooded and masked "Hanged Man" Alger entered the target building not much slower than the "Admiral of the Stars".

Alice, who came here as a decoration, followed in openly and saw the whole scene clearly.

The "craftsman" Sharf retreated with a look of horror, away from the long tea table. There were two men and one woman lying on the ground, vomiting mushrooms continuously. Their clothes had already torn between their chests and abdomens, and mushrooms grew out of them one after another.

Noticing someone coming in, they subconsciously looked up and saw white mycelium appearing on their faces, in clumps.

Alice put her hand to her forehead and realized that this was indeed Frank Lee's achievement.

"As expected, it's a mushroom that can kill Sequence 5." She exclaimed.

These words made Cattleya, the Hermit, and Alger, the Hanged Man, stunned for a moment, then they turned to look at her.

After a moment's thought, Cattleya realized that this was probably the battle record of Gehrman Sparrow.

Cattleya turned around, pinched her mouth with her right hand, and whistled.

Phantom ropes emerged from the ground and coiled like snakes to tie up the three "Original Moon" believers.

"Is there any way to stop it?" Cattleya turned her head and asked the shadow in the corner.

After a moment of silence, Heath Doyle's voice came out:

"Frank said he hasn't figured out a way to stop it yet, so cremation is the only option."

Alice breathed a sigh of relief, glad that she didn't have to do it herself.

Cremation... Cattleya's eyebrows moved slightly, and she immediately took out a handful of powder from her secret bag and threw it over.

The powder seemed to have its own vitality and fell accurately on the three "Original Moon" believers and the mushrooms.

Silently, red flames rose up, quietly burning everything they touched.

The "craftsman" Sharf was already frightened when he witnessed the strange change. After someone broke in, he wanted to rely on his magical items to resist, but he quickly recognized the intruder, so he gave up rationally and decisively stood aside and waited.

He thought to himself that he still had high utility value. No matter where he went, he would not be killed directly. Besides, the "Admiral of the Stars" had never had a bad reputation.

The worst case scenario is to join the Star Pirates... Moreover, this pirate admiral himself is better looking than the portrait on the wanted poster, with a completely different temperament... But who is the lady next to him?

Charles pulled the wolf-fang top chain, confusion flashed through his mind, and then a flattering smile appeared on his face, only his eyes occasionally glancing at Alice.

Although rumors about "Miss Destiny" mentioned that she was a blonde, blue-eyed girl who looked young, it was impossible for people to suspect that she was an angel as soon as they saw a girl who met the description.

There was no Gehrman Sparrow nearby, and Alice did not display the unique deterrence of a powerful person above demigod, so Sharf did not think in that direction. He was only confused about what kind of girl could appear in the current situation.

And the status seems to be not low...

While he was thinking, Alice turned her head as if she had noticed something. After staring at him for two seconds, she turned back to Alger and asked a frightening question:

"If we dig out his eyes, will it affect his ability to create magical items?"

"...Yes," Alger paused for a moment, then answered without hesitation, "But if you wish, you can do so... Or do you want to wait until he finishes making the magical item in his hand?"

Sharf froze. He looked at Alger, who was respectful and humble, and suddenly had a bad feeling. An unknown fear spread in his heart. (End of this chapter)

113 Kindness

Alger's words did give Alice some inspiration.

She heard that the value of the "craftsman" Sharf's existence was to create magical items, so she naturally thought of Klein's secret doll.

——As far as she knew, a doll could retain extraordinary abilities.

But Klein already has two Secret Dolls. Alice has never asked Klein how many Secret Dolls he can have at most, but she thinks that the number of Sequence 5s will not be too many, at least not enough to support a circus, so each Secret Doll should be carefully considered.

"Craftsmen" are not a sequence that can provide their own strength. Their advantage lies more in making magical items. However, magical items cannot be counted as positive combat power.

As for selling it for money... Although playing the role of a rich man made Klein extremely short of money, Alice did not think that "Craftsman" Sharf could compare with the pirates in terms of quickly making money.

As for the long term, Klein is not without fixed assets...

Alice shook her head, retracted the thought in her mind, and said to Alger,

"You guys handle it.

"I will ask the demigod of the world if he is interested in making magical items."

Anyway, it shouldn't have any impact if the demigod queen left a permanent position for a secret doll, and he should be demigod soon...

Alice began to look at Charles with the same eyes as she would look at a piece of junk.

From her occasional frown, Charles felt a sense of dissatisfaction, which was different from the anger after being offended just now. This was more of a criticism.

The difference was not actually obvious, but as a "craftsman", Sharf was very familiar with the way he looked at magical objects - he was sure that the girl was looking at him in that way.

Alice's words actually revealed a small amount of information. Alger and Cattleya realized that Gehrman Sparrow, the "world" after becoming a demigod, could somehow obtain the ability to create magical items. Alger quickly remembered Senior, who had explored the island with him, and had some guesses in his mind.

Maybe it's not just for Demigods. It's just that the quota is full now, and there will be new vacancies for Demigods...?

Alger took note of this thoughtfully, and then after two seconds of silence, he turned to Sharf and said,

"You should be thankful that Miss Destiny is in a good mood today."

He didn't say much. For those who were well-informed, the title "Miss Fate" was enough to explain most of the problems. Sharf immediately connected Alice with the person in the rumor. His expression changed several times in an instant, and finally he knelt on the ground neatly and shouted:

"I am damned, Your Highness!

"If I knew it was you, I would definitely not look at you carelessly. I, I, I would dig out my own eyes right now!"

As he said this, Charles took out a dagger from his body and stabbed himself in the eyes.

This begging action was too decisive. Alice watched the scene in shock. It was not until his dagger touched her eyelids that she hurriedly shouted:

"Wait a moment!"

Sharf, who had no real intention to dig out his eyes, stopped his action decisively, put down the dagger, knelt on the ground again, and praised Alice's kindness:

"You are truly a kind prince..."

"No," Alice interrupted him, "I'll go out first and you can dig, okay?"

These words stunned Sharf for a moment. He raised his head in shock, forgetting to disguise the emotions in his eyes. It was Alger who spoke after a moment of silence:

"Miss Destiny has always been kindhearted and cannot bear to see such bloody and cruel scenes."

Cattleya turned her head and looked at Alger without saying a word. She seemed to want to say something, but in the end she said nothing.

Alice herself didn't know how to comment on this. She turned to look at Alger and saw that he had a calm expression without showing any emotion. After a moment of silence, she gave him a thumbs up and then said to Charles:

"That's right."

Then she left the room without looking back and closed the door.

Sharf knelt there awkwardly. He looked up at Alger, then at Cattleya, and when he saw that both of them had blank expressions on their faces, he gritted his teeth, picked up the dagger from the ground again, and dug it into his eyes, while shouting out some words of repentance.

Unfortunately, these words turned into screams soon after. Alice blocked her ears in annoyance. After the sound faded away, she quietly dropped a "restart".

Then Alger and Cattleya saw that the dagger that had been taken out was put back into the eye socket by Sharf, and the eyeball also flew back into the eye socket, and as the dagger was taken out again, it grew back on the eye.

Before they could be surprised, Alice opened the door, poked her head in and said:

"Keep digging.

"I want to watch the live version this time.

"Also, don't scream."

Alger and Cattleya swallowed hard, and then Cattleya calmly asked Sharf:

"Did you hear that?"

He did hear it, but Sharf was a little overwhelmed - he seemed to understand why the other party looked at him as if he were a magical object.

But Sharf knew that he could not resist, unless the real "Original Moon" was willing to save him, or the angels under the "Original Moon" were willing to save him, otherwise the resistance of mortals would be meaningless to an angel.

On the contrary, if he continued digging like this, the other party might get tired of it and let him go.

Thinking of this, Sharf swung the dagger at himself again.

This time he only dug halfway before Alice recovered. Then Alice frowned and said:

"Forget it, it's boring... Let's just wait for the demigod of the 'world'."

How boring... Alger looked at Cattleya, who seemed not to have heard what Alice said and asked:

"Shall we continue then?"

Alice nodded.

So the pirate general turned around and asked Sharf, who was still kneeling on the ground:

"I originally wanted to find you to make magical items through a friend's introduction, but I found out that you were walking with the believers of the 'Original Moon'.

"The three of them are not very strong and can't restrict you at all. Why do you still want to stay here?"

"Wait," Alice interrupted them, "the original moon?"

She frowned and looked at Sharf. Sharf, who had other thoughts in mind, immediately decided to be honest and answered truthfully:

"They had a strong man in Bayam at first, and through the fragrance and powder of some flowers, they infected me with a strange disease and made me weaker.

"Although I have recovered now, when I was controlled by them, they told me that as long as I believed in the 'Original Moon', I could cure my stubborn illness through certain rituals. I couldn't resist the temptation and tried it. It really worked. I found the feeling of being a man again..."

At this point, his voice paused and he gave an awkward smile.

Alice blinked. It took her some time to realize what he meant. She hesitantly lowered his lower body and blurted out:

"You can't?"

Sharf opened and closed his mouth several times, and after a huge mental struggle, he finally answered:

"I, I was too indulgent before..."

Alice tilted her head, thinking of what Roselle said in the diary, and said thoughtfully:

"It seems that even if the Beyonders' physique improves, they cannot avoid this problem...

"Speaking of which..."

She looked at Charles with a strange expression, then said quietly:

"I know a 'pharmacist', and when I last saw him, he had become a 'tamer'.

"I remember that he particularly liked this type of medicine. When we first met, he wanted to recommend this medicine to me, but then he found out that I was not an adult..."

Sharf began to ponder Alice's intentions, considering whether he should ask where this "pharmacist" was. After hesitating for a few seconds, he continued:

"It wasn't because of drugs, I really recovered to the state of my youth. After that, I dreamt twice about the moon that looked bloody and attractive.

"I think I have become a believer of the 'Original Moon', so I dare not run away."

Having said this, he paused, looked at Alice with a cautious and expectant look, and then asked tentatively:

"Perhaps you would like to..."

Alice knew what he was going to ask.

As long as a person truly believes in evil gods, demons, or some hidden existence, unless he is willing to continue like this and slowly become fanatical, even if he regrets it and is protected by official forces and has no problems for a long time, he may strangle himself silently in his sleep a few years later!

This is almost impossible to save, unless he is qualified to receive the blessing of the angels on earth at the level of the Pope of the major churches, or accept the isolation of certain seals and live forever underground.

Of course, there are many people in similar situations who did nothing and still lived to die of old age, but most of them were ordinary people who were easily ignored by evil gods, demons, and secret entities. However, Sharf was a very useful "craftsman".

Alice also had the ability to offer this blessing, but she refused it without hesitation:

"I don't want to."

——Don't say that she didn't want to confront the "Original Moon" and attract its attention. Even if she didn't mind it, she was too lazy to pay attention to a guy who had offended her.

Sharf's face changed. Alice noticed his expression and thought for a moment before deciding to give him some hope:

"I didn't like the way you looked at me before... I was very angry."

There was a bit of childish willfulness in these words. Charles remembered the rumors about the angel's character. His heart moved slightly and his face was no longer so gloomy.

Alger and Cattleya were slightly surprised, but they didn't show it on their faces. Cattleya said directly,

"What magical items do you have now? I'll pick some and leave a few for you."

"Ah?" Alice was stunned.

This should be the process of dividing the spoils, but Alice was obviously not very familiar with this process. In her impression, the person whose spoils were to be divided should be dead, or at least not at the scene.

This directly requires...

She looked at Sharf with a strange expression, and found that he nodded without any backbone:

"OK."

Then Alice watched him put down the dagger that he had used to dig out his own eyes, and told them:

"This dagger is called 'Poison Blade'. It can add a random poison to each damage. As for what it is, it depends purely on luck.

"It has little negative impact, except that it can lead to medical failure and a cumulative feeling of intoxication."

Alice looked at him in surprise, not knowing whether to praise his bravery or despise his spinelessness.

...Perhaps I should praise his wisdom?

Alice's mouth twitched as he continued his introduction.

She wasn't really interested in magical items. Most of them were more fun in her hands. As for the improvement of combat power... honestly, if she could, why couldn't she not fight?

After Sharf finished introducing them, Alger pulled out the "Gargoyle Glasses" and the "Sea Scepter" and told them:

"These glasses were custom made by me, and the scepter was commissioned by the World..."

As he said this, Alger glanced at Alice.

As expected, Alice went up and picked up the scepter, and waved it casually. Several wind blades flew out, aiming at the table in Charles's house.

Alice felt no remorse for the table being split in half. She reached out and patted the scepter, and gave a direct order:

"Sing a song for me."

Just as Scharf said, the "Scepter of Sea Words" was very happy to sing. After hearing Alice's words, it immediately let go of its voice and sang a song.

They were lucky, as this song was one of the better performances of "Scepter of Sea Words". The singing was beautiful and touching. Alice was very satisfied listening to it and did not interrupt. So until the singing ended, she realized that the three people who were still sober at the scene all looked intoxicated.

Alger, who was in a tense mood, rarely showed his emotions and sighed:

"Music...

"Compared to it, what I sang is indeed not worthy of being called a song!"

Alice couldn't help herself and hit Alger on the head with her scepter.

Alger quickly came to his senses and said apologetically:

"Sorry, Miss Destiny..."

Alice ignored him. She waved her scepter as if she had found some interesting toy, hitting Cattleya and Sharf on the head.

Cattleya and Sharf did not show any anger at all. Like Alger, they took the initiative to express their apologies.

Alice shook her head, waved the scepter twice like a stick, and then threw it to Alger and said:

"You turn it over to 'the world'."

Alger took the scepter and nodded.

There was nothing in the remaining items that Alice was interested in, so Alger and Cattleya divided them up. Afterwards, they asked Heath Doyle to clean up the scene. Cattleya asked Sharf again:

"Why do the followers of 'Original Moon' want to control you?"

Sharf did not hide anything and spoke frankly:

"It seems that they have some plans that require the assistance of 'craftsmen'. I don't know what they are specifically because they haven't started yet."

Alice frowned and looked at Cattleya, who nodded at her and then looked at Alger.

After staring at Alger for a few seconds, Cattleya turned to Sharf and said:

"Since you are already a believer of the 'Original Moon', there is no benefit for me to take you away." (End of this chapter)
